Clues in the rare gas isotopes to early solar system history
The results of the radioactive dating and the discovery of gas-rich meteorites on the Moon surface are reviewed. Special attention is paid to the extinct radioactivity iodine-129. This radioactivity is produced by r-process of nucleosynthesis and it decays with a half-life of 17 m.y. It provides a clock sensitive to small changes in the early years of the solar system

A conceptual and empirical framework to analyze the economics of consumer food waste
We develop a microeconomic model to understand food waste of consumers. We capture at-home and away-from home food consumption and distinguish between food purchases and food consumption. We allow the consumer to choose the rate of food waste at home optimally to maximize her utility. We show that consumer purchases can decline or increase with a cut in the rate of consumer waste, depending on the elasticity of food demand. Using the UK data for poultry in 2012, we also show a case where for a price elastic demand food consumption increases with a reduction in the food waste rate, but food purchases (retail sales) increase

Fuzzy ARTMAP, Slow Learning and Probability Estimation
A nonparametric probability estimation procedure using the fuzzy ARTMAP neural network is here described. Because the procedure does not make a priori assumptions about underlying probability distributions, it yields accurate estimates on a wide variety of prediction tasks. Fuzzy ARTMAP is used to perform probability estimation in two different modes. In a 'slow-learning' mode, input-output associations change slowly, with the strength of each association computing a conditional probability estimate. In 'max-nodes' mode, a fixed number of categories are coded during an initial fast learning interval, and weights are then tuned by slow learning. Oscillation Spectrum of a Magnetized Strongly Coupled One-Component-Plasma
A first-principle study of the collective oscillation spectrum of a strongly
correlated one-component plasma in a strong magnetic field is presented. The
spectrum consists of six fundamental modes which are found to be in good
agreement with results from the Quasi-Localized Charge approximation. At high
frequencies additional modes are observed that include Bernstein-type
oscillations and their transverse counterparts which are of importance for the
high-frequency optical and transport properties of these plasmas

An apparatus and technique is described for the coating of the edge surfaces of flat ribbon conductors with an adherent coating of a dielectric insulating material. Means for passing the ribbon conductors between a pair of generally axially aligned rollers is provided. The edge surfaces of the conductor are disposed adjacent to and generally tangentially to the confronting surfaces of the roller so as to form a fillet of dielectric material along the edge surface of the conductor
Advection-Dominated Accretion with Infall and Outflows
We present self-similar solutions for advection-dominated accretion flows
with radial viscous force in the presence of outflows from the accretion flow
or infall. The axisymmetric flow is treated in variables integrated over polar
sections and the effects of infall and outflows on the accretion flow are
parametrised for possible configurations compatible with the self-similar
solution. We investigate the resulting accretion flows for three different
viscosity laws and derive upper limits on the viscosity parameter alpha. In
addition, we find a natural connection to non-rotating and spherical accretion
with turbulent viscosity, which is assumed to persist even without differential
rotation. Positive Bernoulli numbers for advection-dominated accretion allow a
fraction of the gas to be expelled in an outflow and the upper limit on the
viscosity predicts that outflows are inevitable for equations of state close to
