The Profile of the Teaching Profession β Empirical Reflections on the Development of the Competences of University Teachers
AbstractIn this article we have proposed to present a theoretical and practical approach to the teaching profession, based on analysis competencies, which should hold them a good university teacher in a globalized and competitive world. The results of the study were obtained by applying a written questionnaire to subjects who work in different universities from Romania and Spain. The study included a total of 485 people from four universities in Spain and four universities in Romania. The results obtained by analyzing the responses of the subjects included in our sample have showed that both groups of teachers β from Romania an Spain β have the same opinions regarding the competencies which should hold them a good university teacher but were registered significant mean differences regarding transversal competencies dimension (p=0,002, p< 0,05). We believe that the professional perfection and development are the sources of a professional continuum, which makes educational career rolling laws and is subject to management resources, mobility needs, and flexibility of the teaching staff

The application of the Lorentzian plasma theory for the calculation of the properties of multicomponent electric arc plasma is considered. It is shown that this model gives satisfactory results in the temperature range, which is corresponding to the weakly ionized arc plasma and arc plasma with dominant first ionization. The calculations are provided for the arc plasmas of noble gases and their mixtures between them and also that with metals. It is also pointed that the discrepancy between the electron temperature and gas temperature can be significant even at relatively weak electric fields, that fact must be taken into account under the simulation of arc discharges

Influence of carbon diffusion on microstructure and wear behaviour of duplex stainless steel surface layers on lamellar grey cast iron
Surface welding with duplex stainless steel was performed to enhance the wear and corrosion properties of grey cast iron, which is used as material for applications as pump components in maritime and chemical environments. The method used for surface welding and the corresponding process parameters determine the chemical composition and microstructure, which both determine the corrosion and wear properties of the surface layer. High heat input leads to high chemical dilution and thus, reduced corrosion resistance. Slow cooling rates, which are recommended for welding of grey cast iron components, facilitate the formation of carbides in the fusion zone of the chromiumβrich duplex stainless steel surface layer. On the one hand, carbides lead to increased hardness and thus, improved wear resistance of the surface layers. On the other hand, carbides and high chemical dilution rates reduce the corrosion resistance and therefore should be avoided. Under high cooling rates, the risk of cracking in the heat affected zone of the grey cast iron increases due to martensitic phase transformations. The paper describes the correlation of process parameters, microstructure and chemical composition with a focus on carbon diffusion and carbide formation, ever considering the effect on the wear behaviour in an oscillation tribometer and under erosionβcorrosion conditions

Innovatives ElektronenstrahlschweiΓen hochschmelzender Metalle - Innovative electron-beam welding of high-melting metals
Since its establishment as nuclear research plant Juelich in the year 1956, the research centre Juelich (FZJ) is concerned with the material processing of special metals. Among those are, above all, the high-melting refractory metals niobium, molybdenum and tungsten. Electron beam welding has always been considered to be an innovative special welding method; in the FZJ, electron beam welding has, moreover, always been adapted to the increasing demands made by research partners and involved manufacturing and design sectors. From the manual equipment technology right up to highly modem multi-beam technique, the technically feasible for fundamental research has, this way, always been realised
