    Pembentukan kriteria bagi garis panduan kemudahan asas kolej kediaman lestari di universiti awam

    Kolej kediaman selama ini telah dibangunkan berdasarkan tiga garis panduan sedia ada iaitu oleh USM (2004), UTM (2007) dan KPT (2012). Namun, kekurangan yang terdapat dalamnya telah menimbulkan kelemahan dalam penyediaan kemudahan di kolej kediaman. Akibatnya berlaku ketidakselesaan penghuni yang memberikan kesan buruk terhadap proses pembelajaran seterusnya menjejaskan kelestarian kolej kediaman. Permasalahan ini akhirnya membawa kepada kemerosotan kualiti hidup penghuni. Oleh itu, kajian ini dilakukan untuk meneroka dalam aspek penyediaan kemudahan di kolej kediaman universiti awam. Kajian ini mempunyai empat objektif iaitu mengenalpasti tahap keselesaan dan ketersediaan kemudahan kolej kediaman di universiti awam, mengkaji keadaan semasa kemudahan di kolej kediaman universiti awam, menganalisis pandangan pembuat dasar terhadap pembangunan konsep kolej kediaman lestari di universiti awam dan mencadangkan kriteria bagi garis panduan kemudahan asas kolej kediaman lestari di universiti awam. Pengumpulan data secara kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Kajian ini melibatkan tujuh buah kolej kediaman universiti awam dari USM, UPM, UTHM, UITM, UTEM, UPSI dan UKM (2874 responden). Selain itu, tiga responden dari KPT dan KeTTHA turut terlibat. Analisis data diskriptif dan inferens digunakan untuk data kuantitatif menggunakan perisian Statistical Package for the Social Sciences. Manakala data kualitatif dianalisis secara analisis kandungan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan keselesaan responden terhadap penyediaan bilik penginapan berada pada tahap selesa. Namun, penemuan kajian visual mendapati masih terdapat kelemahan bagi penyediaan kemudahan dalam bilik seperti peralatan/perabot yang usang, uzur, tidak memenuhi keperluan akademik, rosak dan tidak mencukupi. Bagi penyediaan kemudahan sokongan, didapati kemudahan yang disediakan masih tidak lengkap dan tidak memenuhi keperluan akademik atau untuk pembangunan sahsiah diri penghuni. Hasil temu bual bersama pihak pembuat dasar KPT dan KeTTHA telah mendapatkan input, sokongan dan nasihat. Antara input tersebut kolej kediaman sebagai pusat pembelajaran kedua membentuk mahasiswa holistik dan penerapan elemen hijau dalam kemudahan di kolej kediaman. Kriteria bagi garis panduan kemudahan asas kolej kediaman lestari telah dicadangkan dengan tiga bahagian utama iaitu pembangunan garis panduan berkaitan penyediaan bilik dan kemudahan, pembangunan garis panduan penyediaan kemudahan sokongan pelbagai kolej kediaman dan pembangunan garis panduan pembangunan reka bentuk fizikal persekitaran luaran kolej kediaman. Garis panduan ini dijadikan sebagai rujukan untuk penyediaan kemudahan yang selesa dan lengkap Secara keseluruhannya, kajian ini telah menyumbang kepada perbincangan berkaitan penyediaan kemudahan di kolej kediaman yang lestari seterusnya membawa kepada peningkatan kualiti hidup penghuni

    Kajian ini merupakan sebuah kajian terhadap Kerangka Rekabentuk Carta Selak Rangkaian Berintegrasi Teori Gagne Sembilan Peristiwa Pembelajaran. Tujuan kajian ini dilakukan adalah bagi mencadangkan sebuah Kerangka Rekabentuk Carta Selak Rangkaian Berintegrasi Teori Gagne Sembilan Peristiwa Pembelajaran yang sesuai diaplikasikan oleh bakal guru dan juga guru bagi sebuah sesi pengajaran dan pembelajaran yang berkesan dan seterusnya meningkatkan kefahaman dan pengetahuan pelajar dalam mata pelajaran yang diajar oleh guru. Metodologi yang digunakan adalah berdasarkan Model ADDIE iaitu peringkat analisis, peringkat rekabentuk, peringkat pembangunan, peringkat implimentasi dan peringkat penilaian. Hasil daripada dapatan kajian yang menggunakan model TAM melihat persepsi dari kebergunaan (tahap tinggi dan min 3.02), kesenangan mengguna (tahap tinggi dan min 3.03) dan sikap penggunaan ( diterima dan min 2.65) terhadap Kerangka Rekabentuk Carta Selak Rangkaian Berintegrasi Teori Gagne Sembilan Peristiwa Pembelajaran. Dapatan tersebut menunjukkan bahawa ia digunakan dalam sesi pengajaran dan pembelajaran di bilik darjah oleh responden pada masa hadapan.     Teachersā€™ Perception towards Parental Involvement in Their Childrenā€™s Education in the Secondary Schools, Temerloh, Malaysia

    The research focuses on secondary school teachersā€™ perception of parental involvement in their childrenā€™s education based on Epstein model. The main aim of this study is to explore the secondary school teachersā€™ perception towards parental involvement in their childrenā€™s education. The respondents were comprised of 130 teachers from three selected schools that are located in the district of Temerloh. This study is descriptive in nature. Findings showed that teachers perceived parents need to show involvement in four out of six types of parental involvements in the Epstein model. The four types of parental involvements specified by teachers are parenting, communication, home learning, and collaboration with community. Based on the level of teachersā€™ satisfaction, generally they were not satisfied with parental involvement in parenting and volunteering activities, but were satisfied with parental involvement in activities of communication and home learning. For school governance activities, generally teachers said that parental involvement in the childrenā€™ education involved attending PIBG meeting in schools (61.5%) while less than 50% of teachersā€™ agreed that parents involved frequently in other activities such as engaged as the schoolsā€™ committee and ā€˜involved in the programmed organized by schools and in revising schoolsā€™ curriculumā€™. While for school collaboration and community activities, majority of the teachersā€™ perceived that frequency of which school involves outsiders in education is low. The teachers also perceived that problems and the constraints in the parental involvement in their children education in school as due to ā€œbeing too busyā€, ā€œreluctant to get involveā€, ā€œlack of knowledgeā€, ā€œlack of source of money to support activities involving the parentsā€, ā€œnegative attitudeā€, and ā€œlack of skillsā€. Based on the comparison of the different ethnics of parents involved in children education, it is shown that the Malay parentsā€™ involvement is high in the activities such as discussing with teachers, encouraging children to attend extra class and co-curriculum activities, giving ideas and energy, and receiving comments and critics on their children. Chinese parents perceived to be more interested in sending children to tuition classes, giving donation to schools and buying extra reference books. Indian parents and other ethnics perceived as having the lowest level of involvement in the respected activities too. The highest method of interaction between parents and schools according to the teachers are through letters, followed by telephone and face-to-face interaction. Other methods such as e-mail, facsimile and SMS are very rarely used. Besides that, teachers perceived that in terms of communityā€™s involvement in education, the highest is through government department while the involvement from other agencies is still low. This research implies that more has to do be done to increase the level of parental involvement in their children education in schools, including planning and implementing more effective programmers

    Menara Telekom Malaysia Melaka has high numbers of women employees whoā€™s holding managerial positions. Most of these women are already married. Married women usually face a problem regarding the way to balance their time with job at office and non-work for example time they need to spend with children and family. According to Milkovich (2011), work life balance is a program that helps employees better integrate their work and life responsibility including the time away from work, access to service to meet specific needs and flexible work arrangement. The problem occurs when women feel that they do not have the equivalent time for both responsibilities. Thus, the study hopes to investigate factors that have relationship with work-life balance. Employees who do not have work-life balance may face are many problems. The most common problem arises when employees do not have work life balance is stress. Stress is personal in that stress affects individuals in different ways. In similar situations or conditions some people cope, even thrive, on the pressure, whilst others find it difficult to cope and suffer negative stress as a result. It is also personal in the sense that the amount of control that the individual has, over their workplace conditions, events, and work-life balance, will influence the amount of negative stress that they suffer from. Those individuals with greater control will tolerate and manage stress levels, or avoid them altogether, more successfully. It is essential for a company such as Telekom Malaysia to ensure every single employee has work-life balance. A successful convergence between work and non-work aspect can be a win-win situation for employees and employers alike. The ability to achieve satisfying experiences in all life domains enhances the quality of personal relationships and a range of organisational outcomes. On the other hand, conflict between different roles has been linked to negative outcomes such as job dissatisfaction, psychological strain and substance abuse. Kajian ini bertujuan mengenalpasti tahap keselesaan bilik penghuni secara keseluruhan dan mengikut jantina di kolej kediaman universiti awam, Pengumpulan data secaraƂĀ  kuantitatif. Kajian ini melibatkan tujuh buah kolej kediaman universiti awam dari USM, UPM, UTHM, UITM, UTEM, UPSI dan UKM (2874 responden). Analisis data diskriptif dan inferens digunakan untuk data kuantitatif menggunakan perisian Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). Hasil kajian menunjukkan keselesaan responden terhadap penyediaan bilik penginapan berada pada tahap selesa. Ujian T menunjukkan responden perempuan mempunyai tahap keselesaan lebih tinggi. Keselesaan menginap di kolej kediaman adalah penting kerana mampu memberikan kesan kepada kualiti hidup penghuni secara keseluruhan. Hasil daripada pengkajian ini dapat menemukan keadaan semasa penghuni terhadap kemudahan bilik penginapan yang disediakan seterusnya dapat digunakan bagi membangunkan sebuah kolej kediaman yang lestari dan bersifat lebih selesa dan konduksif pada masa akan datang

    This study is a preliminary study of the transformation of residential colleges today into the concept of sustainable residential colleges in Malaysian public universities. The main problem of the study is the lack of complete guidelines to develop comfortable and conducive residential colleges. These problems lead to weaknesses and disadvantages in the provision of support facilities at residential colleges and thus sparking discomfort residents. The consequences also cause disruption to the sustainability of residential colleges and ultimately lead to the deterioration of the quality of life of the occupants. The methodology of the study is based on literature review on the elements of residential college, Maslow needs theory, facilities in residential colleges, residents' comfort, sustainable development and quality of life. The findings reveal the information of residential colleges as the basic needs of residents to live in the university, the conducive development of facilities that are conducive to academic and self-esteem, the comfort of being the priorities of the residents, sustainable development as the core concept of sustainable residential college and the impact on the quality of life of the occupants as a whole. The findings in this study will be used to assist the study of transformation of residential colleges into the concept of sustainable residential college providing complete, comfortable and conducive facilities thus leading to the improvement in the quality of life of residential colleges in Malaysian public universities

    This study is aimed at obtaining early information regarding the construction of a sustainable residential college. The problem of this study is the discomfort of living in residential colleges in Malaysian public universities. Discomfort affects the learning process of the occupants and affects the sustainability of residential colleges. The final impression of this offense leads to a deterioration in the quality of life. The research methodology is based on the literature review of residential colleges, Maslow's Theory of Needs, sustainable development, the influence of comfort and quality of life. The findings show that Maslow boelh's Theory of Needs is used as the basis for the provision of sustainable residential colleges, the concept of sustainable development as the basis for the concept of sustainable residential college and the comfort of the occupants affecting the quality of life as a whole. The future residential college should be developed on the basis of sustainability so residents can live comfortably and conducive thereby leading to improved quality of life

    Revealing Hidden Context Bias in Segmentation and Object Detection through Concept-specific Explanations

    Applying traditional post-hoc attribution methods to segmentation or object detection predictors offers only limited insights, as the obtained feature attribution maps at input level typically resemble the models' predicted segmentation mask or bounding box. In this work, we address the need for more informative explanations for these predictors by proposing the post-hoc eXplainable Artificial Intelligence method L-CRP to generate explanations that automatically identify and visualize relevant concepts learned, recognized and used by the model during inference as well as precisely locate them in input space. Our method therefore goes beyond singular input-level attribution maps and, as an approach based on the recently published Concept Relevance Propagation technique, is efficiently applicable to state-of-the-art black-box architectures in segmentation and object detection, such as DeepLabV3+ and YOLOv6, among others. We verify the faithfulness of our proposed technique by quantitatively comparing different concept attribution methods, and discuss the effect on explanation complexity on popular datasets such as CityScapes, Pascal VOC and MS COCO 2017. The ability to precisely locate and communicate concepts is used to reveal and verify the use of background features, thereby highlighting possible biases of the model
