Prognostic factors in endometrial cancer

Endometrial cancer (EC) is the most common malignancy of the female reproductive system in Sweden. Patients with EC generally have a good prognosis, though some face recurrence and have a lower survival rate despite treatment. Current prognostic factors for EC are still not able to accurately reflect disease prognosis. Therefore, the overall aim of the present project was to evaluate the impact of different, patient-specific factors on the prognosis of women with EC, with a special focus on the LRIG family of proteins, cadmium, dietary factors, daily routines, and the endometrial microbiome. Identifying these factors could pave the way for better determination of EC prognosis. Study I analysed the role of LRIG1, LRIG2, and LRIG3 proteins on survival rates in women with EC. The analysis demonstrated that most patients had >50% positive cells for all three LRIG proteins. The LRIG1 protein score was high in most patients (97.3%). The percentage of LRIG3-positive cells was positively associated with better overall survival (P=0.019). There was no LRIG3 cell membrane staining in 30.4% of women who died, compared to 7.7% of EC survivors (P=0.01). Consequently, the results reveal a potential prognostic role of LRIG3, not LRIG1 and LRIG2, in EC. Study II assessed the role of cadmium intake on the survival of 416 women with EC residing in Sweden. Median dietary cadmium intake was 13.1 μg/day. High dietary cadmium intake was associated with lower overall survival (P=0.05), but not with progression-free survival (P=0.348). Accordingly, high dietary cadmium intake seems to be an adverse prognostic factor in EC. Study III evaluated the prognostic role of modifiable factors, such as dietary habits and daily routines, in EC using machine learning models. Among the 186 variables considered, consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages and fried potatoes increased the risk of EC recurrence and death, while physical activity decreased the risk of death. As a consequence, modification of specific dietary habits and daily routines might favourably impact EC prognosis. Study IV investigated the role of endometrial microbiota in women with EC and compared it to the bacterial profile of women with benign conditions of the gynaecological tract (endometrial hyperplasia, EH or endometrial polyp, EP). Most women in the EC and EH/EP groups were postmenopausal and had a BMI above the normal range. The median age in the EC group was 10 years higher than that in the EH/EP group. The preliminary analysis showed that patients with EC have endometrial microbiota distinct from that of patients with EH/EP: Atopobium and Porphyromonas were present in patients with EC, while Lactobacillus was present in those with EH/EP. Thereby, endometrial microbiota might play a role in EC prognosis. To conclude, this thesis provides additional knowledge on certain molecular and nonmolecular factors that might play a role in EC, including its prognosis. Целью работы является представление условий ирезультатов эксперимента основе экспериментальной установки. В настоящее время стеклопластикявляется одним из наиболее используемых композитных материалов в космостроении, а так жеавиастроении. Данные отрасли промышленности во многом зависят от целостности и надежностиматериала. Для обеспечения безопасности и качества изделий в космостроении важно своевременнопроводить термоволновой контроль композитных материалов. Данный эксперимент поможет в реальныхусловиях находить дефекты в корпусах космических кораблей, а так же в материалах, которые будутиспользоваться при их производстве. The paper summarizes the experience of using information systems in transport and logistics companies in Russia, their typologization and functionality. The definition of "smart logistics" is formulated; it contains a description of the essence of the term characterizing its specific features and effects that are achieved as a result of processes of the same name. Based on the study of the trans-logistics platforms functional structure and the “single window” evolutionary development levels, the industry and departmental participants of the logistics market, which information systems can potentially be integrated into a single information space, are identified. The relevance of the information systems integration for providing synchromodal transportation is underlined. Expert opinions on practices in the digitalization of transport and logistics processes in Russia are highlighted and summarized. Marketing strategy implementation in machine construction industry: Belarus vs Portugal

The purpose of the research is to study practical application of the marketing strategy system by the companies of the machinery-producing industry and to develop recommendations on its enhancement, to study specifics and effectiveness of marketing strategy on the example of companies in Belarus and Portugal and to determine their differences. All in all, the researchers agree that the elements playing critical role in managing marketing performance are data, analytics and metrics (Patterson, 2015). Required data has been obtained via the questionnaire; 13 Belarusian and 23 Portuguese companies were interviewed. The survey determined that companies in the industry apply marketing only on a basic level, missing benefits from elements such as performance metrics, customer orientation, benchmarking, etc. As a result of this work, the following research hypotheses were confirmed: There is a positive association between return on sales and marketing strategy; return on sales and degree of flexibility of marketing strategy; return on sales and degree of business collaboration in marketing. In addition, it was determined that number of monitored metrics has a statistically significant impact on return on sales, and there is a statistically significant difference in marketing system depth between the countries. Influence of Substituent in Conjugated Chain of Molecules on Nanocomponents Composition of Polymethine Dye Films

Molecular layers of polymethine dye long conjugation chain on glass contain several types of molecular nanocomponents. The number and type of the components depend on the thickness of a layer. In thin layers, only monomolecular components (all-trans-stereoisomers and cis-isomers) are present. We studied a series of four dicarbocyanines and determined the steric structure of the nanocomponents of the layers. The layers of less than 1 monolayer thick contain up to 4 monomeric components. For monocis- and dicisisomers of the dyes studied, which are obtained from the all-trans form upon rotation of fragments of a molecule around different bonds in the conjugated chain, the steric models were constructed. It was shown that in the series of polymethine molecules differing in the substituents and their positions in the chain there is a correlation between the intensity of the absorption bands of the certain components and the steric hindrance of molecular isomers. The above correlation may be used for the determination of the steric structure of monomeric components of the layer.
