Building Brand Reputation through Marketing Mix-A Case Study on Philips and Toshiba

This research paper based on primary data, casual research and Chittagong based. It is based on 500 responses on Philips and Toshiba’s customers & respondent selected by Non Probability (Judgmental & Convenience) sampling technique. SPSS 17.0 used for data transcribing, analyzing & interpretation by Descriptive analysis, Regression analysis & Correlation analysis.  It reveals that a marketer build brand reputation through element of marketing mix & combined effects of marketing mix because every element of marketing mix and brand reputation are liner, strong and positively related. But promotion is more important than any other element of marketing mix. Because promotion play fundamental role to building in electronic goods make brand. It also reveals that marketing mix is 49% responsible to build brand reputation. Other elements will have to investigate in further research

Exploring Cyber Security Issues and Solutions for Various Components of DC Microgrid System

Nowadays, considering the growing demand for the DC loads and simplified interface with renewable power generation sources, DC microgrids could be cost effective solution for the power supply in small scale area. the supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system maintain the bidirectional power communication through the internet connectivity with the microgrid. However, this intelligent and interactive feature may pose a cyber-security threat to the power grid. this work aims to exploring cyber-security issues and their solutions for the DC microgrid system. To mitigate the adverse effects of various cyber-attacks such as the False Data Injection (FDI) attack, Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack etc., two new techniques based on non-linear and proportional-integral (PI) controllers have been proposed. Simulation results obtained from MATLAB/Simulink software demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed methods in mitigating the adverse effects of cyber-attacks on the DCMG system performance

Measuring the Relationship among the Advertisement Expenditure, Sales Revenue and Profit on Steel Industries and Banking Industries in Bangladesh

This research paper is aims to identify the relationship among advertisement expenditure, sales revenue and profit. We are select four steel companies and five banking companies .We found that there are positive, liner & cyclical relationship among the variables such represent the increasing advertising expenditure leads to increasing sales and profit and vice versa. It is also noted that increased net profit leads to next year more advertising expenditure which generate more revenue and net profit of next year

An exact algorithm for first order probabilistic logic

Human beings often have to reason and make decisions based on uncertain knowledge of real world problems. Therefore, many artificial intelligence (AI) applications, such as expert systems, must have the ability to understand the way human beings reason from uncertain data or knowledge in order to reach a conclusion. Several approaches have been proposed in this respect to deal with various kinds of uncertainty in AI. Among these approaches, probabilistic theory is used in many research areas such as knowledge-based systems, data mining, etc. Nilsson revisited in 1986 the early work of Boole (1854) and of Hailperin (1976) on logic and probability. He proposed a generalization of logic in which the truth values of sentences are probability values. The main problem addressed by Nilsson is the probabilistic satisfiability ( PSAT) for both propositional and first-order logic: determine, given a set of sentences (i.e., clauses) and probabilities that these sentences are true, whether these probabilities are consistent. Since first-order logic is used in many AI applications due to its expressiveness to represent knowledge over propositional logic, our thesis proposes an extension of the mathematical modeling of PSAT to first-order logic, FOPSAT for short. We next propose an exact algorithm based on delayed column generation technique, to check consistency and, if consistency holds, to entail new probability values for an additional logical sentence to be true and such that the augmented set of sentences remains consistent. We illustrate the proposed algorithm on an example, and discuss its potential to solve medium size FOPSAT instances

Prospects of microalgal biodiesel production in Pakistan – a review

Biodiesel is an alternative, renewable, biodegradable and environmentally friendly fuel for transportation, with properties like petroleum-derived diesel, and can be used directly in a compression ignition engine without any modifications. The world's fossil fuel and crude oil reserves are going to dry up in the next few decades, but, contrariwise, an attractive, high quality, readily available and economically extractable oil from microalgae is a substitute feedstock to produce alternative biodiesel fuel for the transportation sector in the future. Microalgae have a higher biomass productivity (tons/hectare/year) and lipid yield (kg/kg of algal biomass) as compared to vegetable oil crops. To overcome the problem of energy deficiency in developing countries, like Pakistan, and boost their economic growth, alternative fuels are proving very important for environment-friendly and sustainable development, especially in the last few decades. Different research studies on microalgae cultivation, characterization of microalgae oil (lipids), and evaluations of its socio-economic feasibility to produce renewable biodiesel have been conducted in the past in Pakistan for its future prospects. This review paper includes the overall summary and compilation of the microalgae research conducted in Pakistan on biodiesel production and includes the algal biodiesel production cost analysis. The studies showed promising results for harnessing microalgae and using its lipids to produce biodiesel with favourable properties that were comparable to the conventional diesel in Pakistan. The information related to the microalgae research will help stakeholders and governmental organisations working in the renewable energy sector to consider its cultivation on a large scale, using waste water as a feedstock to produce biodiesel to meet the target set by the Government of Pakistan of using 10% blended biodiesel by the year 2025 in Pakistan

Urban greening and mobility justice in Dhaka’s informal settlements

Urban greening in Dhaka, Bangladesh is fraught with injustice for slum dwellers. Access to the commons for the enactment of gardening, farming and foraging by the urban poor, many recent internal migrants from rural areas, is contested by wealthier citizens, developers and political elites. Through qualitative research with households within the informal settlement of Korail in Dhaka’s urban core, and a range of stakeholders in governmental and non-governmental organizations, this study critiques competing policy visions that involve urban greening and urban green infrastructure. Repurposing the conceptual lense of ‘mobility justice’ to analyse environmental and ecological issues in the global South, the findings highlight the importance of mobility concerns to just futures for urban planning

Development of Adsorbent from Sugarcane Bagasse for the Removal of Pollutants from Chrome Tanning Effluents

The leather sector is the second-largest export earning sector in Bangladesh which contributes to huge employment generation and economic development. However, the current situation of this sector is not good enough for its lack of cleaner technologies and waste management systems. Tanneries are using an ample amount of harmful chemicals that may impose a huge negative impact on human health and the environment. Therefore, it is an emerging requirement for the removal of pollutants from effluents before discharging them to the environment. For this, the development of an adsorbent from agricultural waste is significant for removing pollutants from the tanning effluent and greening the environment. In this study, a low-cost adsorbent is developed and used to remove pollutants from the chrome tanning effluent. The developed adsorbent is prepared from sugarcane bagasse and activated by using NaOH. The study was performed at pH 4, with an adsorption time of 1 hour, and the adsorbent doses of 2.5 g/L. The findings revealed that a considerable amount of pollution was mitigated with the reduction in BOD (42.17%), COD (75.00%), Cr2O3 (41.91%), TSS (81.85%), and TDS (84.24%)

Synthesis, Characterize and Evaluation of anti-bacterial and anti-fungal activity of thiazines

1,3 – Thiazines have been applied as useful starting materials in the stereo selective synthesis of compounds of pharmacological interest and they have served as chiral ligants and auxiliaries in enantioselective transformation. The thiazines are of great importance because they act as precursor for the synthesis of Cephalosporins (3,6-dihydro-2H-,1,3-thiazine) and then converted to the thiazine derivatives (an heterocyclic compounds).
