Scenario of inflationary cosmology from the phenomenological Λ\Lambda models

Choosing the three phenomenological models of the dynamical cosmological term Λ\Lambda, viz., Λ(a˙/a)2\Lambda \sim (\dot a/a)^2, Λa¨/a\Lambda \sim {\ddot a/a} and Λρ\Lambda \sim \rho where aa is the cosmic scale factor, it has been shown by the method of numerical analysis that the three models are equivalent for the flat Universe k=0k=0. The evolution plots for dynamical cosmological term Λ\Lambda vs. time tt and also the cosmic scale factor aa vs. tt are drawn here for k=0,+1k=0, +1. A qualitative analysis has been made from the plots which supports the idea of inflation and hence expanding Universe.Comment: 12 latex pages with 12 figures; Replaced with the revised version; Accepeted for `J. Electromagnetic mass models are proved to exist in higher dimensional theory of general relativity corresponding to charged dust distribution. Along with the general proof a specific example is also sited as a supporting candidate.Comment: Latex, 7 pages. Accepted in Astrophysics and Space Scienc

Five Dimensional Cosmological Models in General Relativity

A Five dimensional Kaluza-Klein space-time is considered in the presence of a perfect fluid source with variable G and Λ\Lambda. An expanding universe is found by using a relation between the metric potential and an equation of state. The gravitational constant is found to decrease with time as Gt(1ω)G \sim t^{-(1-\omega)} whereas the variation for the cosmological constant follows as Λt2\Lambda \sim t^{-2}, Λ(R˙/R)2\Lambda \sim (\dot R/R)^2 and ΛR¨/R\Lambda \sim \ddot R/R where ω\omega is the equation of state parameter and RR is the scale factor.Comment: 13 pages, 4 figures, accepted in Int. Higher Dimensional Dark Energy Investigation with Variable Λ\Lambda and GG

Time variable Λ\Lambda and GG are studied here under a phenomenological model of Λ\Lambda through an (n+2n+2) dimensional analysis. The relation of Zeldovich (1968) Λ=8πG2mp6/h4|\Lambda| = 8\pi G^2m_p^6/h^4 between Λ\Lambda and GG is employed here, where mpm_p is the proton mass and hh is Planck's constant. In the present investigation some key issues of modern cosmology, viz. the age problem, the amount of variation of GG and the nature of expansion of the Universe have been addressed.Comment: 7 Latex pages with few change

Phenomenology of Λ\Lambda-CDM model: a possibility of accelerating Universe with positive pressure

Among various phenomenological Λ\Lambda models, a time-dependent model Λ˙H3\dot \Lambda\sim H^3 is selected here to investigate the Λ\Lambda-CDM cosmology. Using this model the expressions for the time-dependent equation of state parameter ω\omega and other physical parameters are derived. It is shown that in H3H^3 model accelerated expansion of the Universe takes place at negative energy density, but with a positive pressure. It has also been possible to obtain the change of sign of the deceleration parameter qq during cosmic evolution.Comment: 16 Latex pages, 11 figures, Considerable modifications in the text; Accepted in IJT

Interacting new agegraphic viscous dark energy with varying GG

We consider the new agegraphic model of dark energy with a varying gravitational constant, GG, in a non-flat universe. We obtain the equation of state and the deceleration parameters for both interacting and noninteracting new agegraphic dark energy. We also present the equation of motion determining the evolution behavior of the dark energy density with a time variable gravitational constant. Finally, we generalize our study to the case of viscous new agegraphic dark energy in the presence of an interaction term between both dark components.Comment: 12 pages, accepted for publication in IJTP (2010

Statefinder Parameters for Different Dark Energy Models with Variable G Correction in Kaluza-Klein Cosmology

In this work, we have calculated the deceleration parameter, statefinder parameters and EoS parameters for different dark energy models with variable GG correction in homogeneous, isotropic and non-flat universe for Kaluza-Klein Cosmology. The statefinder parameters have been obtained in terms of some observable parameters like dimensionless density parameter, EoS parameter and Hubble parameter for holographic dark energy, new agegraphic dark energy and generalized Chaplygin gas models.Comment: 9 pages, no figure, accepted for publication in IJTP. arXiv admin note: text overlap with arXiv:1104.2366 by other author

Does accelerating universe indicates Brans-Dicke theory

The evolution of universe in Brans-Dicke (BD) theory is discussed in this paper. Considering a parameterized scenario for BD scalar field ϕ=ϕ0aα\phi=\phi_{0}a^{\alpha} which plays the role of gravitational "constant" GG, we apply the Markov Chain Monte Carlo method to investigate a global constraints on BD theory with a self-interacting potential according to the current observational data: Union2 dataset of type supernovae Ia (SNIa), high-redshift Gamma-Ray Bursts (GRBs) data, observational Hubble data (OHD), the cluster X-ray gas mass fraction, the baryon acoustic oscillation (BAO), and the cosmic microwave background (CMB) data. It is shown that an expanded universe from deceleration to acceleration is given in this theory, and the constraint results of dimensionless matter density Ω0m\Omega_{0m} and parameter α\alpha are, Ω0m=0.2860.0390.047+0.037+0.050\Omega_{0m}=0.286^{+0.037+0.050}_{-0.039-0.047} and α=0.00460.01710.0206+0.0149+0.0171\alpha=0.0046^{+0.0149+0.0171}_{-0.0171-0.0206} which is consistent with the result of current experiment exploration, α0.132124\mid\alpha\mid \leq 0.132124. In addition, we use the geometrical diagnostic method, jerk parameter jj, to distinguish the BD theory and cosmological constant model in Einstein's theory of general relativity.Comment: 16 pages, 3 figure

Static perfect fluids with Pant-Sah equations of state

We analyze the 3-parameter family of exact, regular, static, spherically symmetric perfect fluid solutions of Einstein's equations (corresponding to a 2-parameter family of equations of state) due to Pant and Sah and "rediscovered" by Rosquist and the present author. Except for the Buchdahl solutions which are contained as a limiting case, the fluids have finite radius and are physically realistic for suitable parameter ranges. The equations of state can be characterized geometrically by the property that the 3-metric on the static slices, rescaled conformally with the fourth power of any linear function of the norm of the static Killing vector, has constant scalar curvature. This local property does not require spherical symmetry; in fact it simplifies the the proof of spherical symmetry of asymptotically flat solutions which we recall here for the Pant-Sah equations of state. We also consider a model in Newtonian theory with analogous geometric and physical properties, together with a proof of spherical symmetry of the asymptotically flat solutions.Comment: 32 p., Latex, minor changes and correction
