Culture Counts: Examinations of Recent Applications of the Penn Resiliency Program or, Toward a Rubric for Examining Cultural Appropriateness of Prevention Programming
It is imperative that researchers pay close attention to the influences of culture on mental health, and acknowledge a cultural context of illness and change when designing prevention programming. Researchers E. V. Cardemil, K. J. Reivich, and M. E. P. Seligman (2002) and D. L. Yu and M. E. P. Seligman (2002) have made attempts at adapting the existing Penn Resiliency Program (PRP) for culturally appropriate use cross-culturally and interculturally. The success of these modifications is discussed within a framework of guidelines designed to remind scientists how much culture counts. Finally, informative resources and a rubric are shared with prevention scientists for use in future development of culturally appropriate prevention programming
Simulation of transition dynamics to high confinement in fusion plasmas
The transition dynamics from the low (L) to the high (H) confinement mode in
magnetically confined plasmas is investigated using a first-principles
four-field fluid model. Numerical results are in close agreement with
measurements from the Experimental Advanced Superconducting Tokamak - EAST.
Particularly, the slow transition with an intermediate dithering phase is well
reproduced by the numerical solutions. Additionally, the model reproduces the
experimentally determined L-H transition power threshold scaling that the ion
power threshold increases with increasing particle density. The results hold
promise for developing predictive models of the transition, essential for
understanding and optimizing future fusion power reactors

An abrupt change in decay systematics around the N=126 neutron shell
closure is discussed. It is explained as a sudden hindrance of the clustering
of the nucleons that eventually form the particle. This is because the
clustering induced by the pairing mode acting upon the four nucleons is
inhibited if the configuration space does not allow a proper manifestation of

Affine su(3) and su(4) fusion multiplicities as polytope volumes
Affine su(3) and su(4) fusion multiplicities are characterised as discretised
volumes of certain convex polytopes. The volumes are measured explicitly,
resulting in multiple sum formulas. These are the first polytope-volume
formulas for higher-rank fusion multiplicities. The associated threshold levels
are also discussed. For any simple Lie algebra we derive an upper bound on the
