Optimal dimensional synthesis of force feedback lower arm exoskeletons

    Get PDF
This paper presents multi-criteria design optimization of parallel mechanism based force feedback exoskeletons for human forearm and wrist. The optimized devices are aimed to be employed as a high fidelity haptic interfaces. Multiple design objectives are discussed and classified for the devices and the optimization problem to study the trade-offs between these criteria is formulated. Dimensional syntheses are performed for optimal global kinematic and dynamic performance, utilizing a Pareto front based framework, for two spherical parallel mechanisms that satisfy the ergonomic necessities of a human forearm and wrist. Two optimized mechanisms are compared and discussed in the light of multiple design criteria. Finally, kinematic structure and dimensions of an optimal exoskeleton are decided

The Role of Social and Cultural Environment in the Determination of Faith in Islamic Theology

In Arabic the term Ä«mÄ?n is derived from the root "a-m-nâ€?, it is in the "if"alâ€? form and means, "to give confidence to othersâ€?, "to be ensuredâ€?, "to confirm and to acceptâ€?. Verb form "Ä?manaâ€? means "removal of fear and replacing it with confidence. In Islamic terminology the definition of Ä«mÄ?n given in Gabriel hadith in which six principles of Ä«mÄ?n is mentioned similarly the term Ä?mentu, which forms knowledge of catechism, is symbolized to mean Ä«mÄ?n. This is why definitions of Ä«mÄ?n given in many books do not state what Ä«mÄ?n is, instead tell about what to believe in. Generally speaking, the definition of Ä«mÄ?n is given as follows: "Ä«mÄ?n is to confirm (approve)â€?, "Ä«mÄ?n is confirmation in heartâ€?, "Ä«mÄ?n is the contrivance of the heartâ€?, "Ä«mÄ?n is to confirm by heart and to confess by speechâ€?, "Ä«mÄ?n is contrivance in heart and is confession through speechâ€?, "Ä«mÄ?n is confirmation of heart, confession through speech, and performed by deedsâ€?, "Ä«mÄ?n is speech and deedsâ€?. According to Paul Tillich, Ä«mÄ?n is a total and centered act of the personal self, the act of unconditional, infinite and ultimate concern. Briefly Faith is the state of being ultimately concerned. According to the father of all modern Protestant Theology, Schleiermacher, Ä«mÄ?n is the feeling of unconditional dependence. Of course, feeling so defined does not mean in religion what it means in popular psychology. It is not vague and changing, but has a definite content

Approximate l-State Solutions of the Klein-Gordon Equation for Modified Woods-Saxon Potential With Position Dependent Mass

The radial part of the Klein-Gordon equation for the generalized Woods-Saxon potential is solved by using the Nikiforov-Uvarov method in the case of spatially dependent mass within the new approximation scheme to the centrifugal potential term. The energy eigenvalues and corresponding normalized eigenfunctions are computed. The solutions in the case of constant mass are also studied to check out the consistency of our new approximation scheme.Comment: 15 page

An Algebraic Method for the Analytical Solutions of the Klein-Gordon equation for any angular momentum for some diatomic potentials

Analytical solutions of the Klein-Gordon equation are obtained by reducing the radial part of the wave equation to a standard form of a second order differential equation. Differential equations of this standard form are solvable in terms of hypergeometric functions and we give an algebraic formulation for the bound state wave functions and for the energy eigenvalues. This formulation is applied for the solutions of the Klein-Gordon equation with some diatomic potentials.Comment: 13 page

Coherent States for PT-/Non-PT-Symmetric and Non-Hermitian Morse Potential via Path Integral Method

We discuss the coherent states for PT-/non-PT-Symmetric and non-Hermitian generalized Morse Potential obtained by using path integral formalism over the holomorphic coordinates. We transform the action of generalized Morse potential into two harmonic oscillators with a new parametric time to establish the parametric time coherent states. We calculate the energy eigenvalues and the corresponding wave functions in parabolic coordinates.Comment: 14 page

Exact Solutions of the Morse-like Potential, Step-Up and Step-Down Operators via Laplace Transform Approach

We intend to realize the step-up and step-down operators of the potential V(x)=V1e2βx+V2eβxV(x)=V_{1}e^{2\beta x}+V_{2}e^{\beta x}. It is found that these operators satisfy the commutation relations for the SU(2) group. We find the eigenfunctions and the eigenvalues of the potential by using the Laplace transform approach to study the Lie algebra satisfied the ladder operators of the potential under consideration. Our results are similar to the ones obtained for the Morse potential (β→−β\beta \rightarrow -\beta).Comment: 8 page

Modified l-states of diatomic molecules subject to central potentials plus an angle-dependent potential

We present modified ℓ\ell-states of diatomic molecules by solving the radial and angle-dependent parts of the Schr\"odinger equation for central potentials, such as Morse and Kratzer, plus an exactly solvable angle-dependent potential Vθ(θ)/r2V_{\theta}(\theta)/r^2 within the framework of the Nikiforov-Uvarov (NU) method. We emphasize that the contribution which comes from the solution of the Schr\"odinger equation for the angle-dependent potential modifies the usual angular momentum quantum number ℓ\ell. We calculate explicitly bound state energies of a number of neutral diatomic molecules composed of a first-row transition metal and main-group elements for both Morse and Kratzer potentials plus an angle-dependent potential.Comment: 19 page
