Trends and determinants of raising ECBs in Indian Context

    Get PDF
This study examines the effect of capital control measures initiated during the last two decades in terms of all-in-cost ceilings and enhanced limits on ECB in India over the sample period 2004Q1 to 2020Q2. Using global liquidity, the exchange rate between INR/USD, imports and interest rate differentials as control variables and changes in capital control measures from 2008 to 2011 in the all-in-cost ceiling, and changes in the enhanced limits on ECBs from USD 500 million to USD 750 million under the automatic route in 2012, regression analysis of three ECB series show interesting results. Using Robust Least Squares method, we document that (1) the successive increment in all-in-cost ceilings on ECB from 2008 to 2011 is inducing ECBs to flow, indicating that Indian firms benefit more than they pay due to increase the cost for ECBs having maturities 3<5 years. However, such capital control measures are not effective on ECBs having maturities >5 years.  (2) The effect of the enhanced limits on ECBs from USD 500 million to USD 750 million under the automatic route in 2012 has a pronounced impact on ECB, averaging 1602.1 USD million per quarter. We observed that CCAs in India are initiated in response to the volatility of the exchange rate and global liquidity, imports, and interest rate differentials are significant variables in India's required capital control actions

Abstract: - There is several generalization of Banach contraction principle. Recently Bhaskaran and Lakshmikantham generalized this result and prove coupled fixed point theorems in ordered metric space. In this present work, we proof some coupled fixed point theorems in ordered metric space. Key words: - Ordered Metric Space, Fixed point, Coupled Fixed point, mixed monotone property

The evidence obtained from the said archaeological sites has thrown light on the diverse aspects of the Neolithic culture of Vindhya region. In this research paper, a detailed discussion has been made about the form of Neolithic pottery tradition of Vindhyan region

The Higher Education Institutions in India is one of the biggest education sectors where, changing need of stakeholder need to be addressed according to available resources at present. In current scenario the role played by library is not limited to storage and retrieval of information. But, dissemination of information at right time to the right hand. In the history of civilization, access to knowledge is ensured by pictures, scripts, paintings, monuments, varied heritage, and print-non-print media. After certain period of time, storage house and library came into exist and then knowledge is circulating generation to generation. History also reveals that knowledge is only source of development taken placed and it is continued in present, therefore, same will be happen in future too. The present paper focuses on the library as a learning resources centre has a vital role to be played for survival and inclusive development of entire human being in the world

Background: Objective of current study was to compare and evaluate different diagnostic tests to establish a reliable and less time consuming diagnostic test for prompt diagnosis of acute Japanese encephalitis cases mainly amongst children and young adults from North-Eastern part of Uttar Pradesh.  Methods: A total of 100 subjects, including 50 suspected cases and 50 diseased controls were investigated to establish the diagnosis of JE in acute encephalitis patients. All CSF samples were subjected to MAC-ELISA, virus cultivation and RT-PCR.Results: Out of 50 cases, 6 showed negative results by all the three tests. 50% (22 out of 44), 47.5% (21 out of 44), and 66% (23 out of 44) were found positive by MAC-ELISA, Virus cultivation and RT-PCR respectively. The rate of detection by Virus cultivation and RT-PCR was higher in case of MAC-ELISA negative cases (57.1% and 78.5%) than that of MAC-ELISA positive cases (22.7% and 27.2%) respectively. Mean age of the patients was 12.5 years, which ranged from 1-24 years with male to female ratio of 3:1.Conclusions: The RT-PCR was found most reliable, sensitive and specific method amongst the three chosen methods for detection of JEV in suspected encephalitis patients
