    Production line: effect of different inspection station allocation under accepts reject inspection policy

    Manufacturing system is one of the most important parts in any organization as it produces the output of the company which will generate the profit. It consists partly of the production line which plays the role as the centre of production to create the end product which could be half finished or the full product. It is a big problem for the company to determine which is the better arrangement and combination of the tools or machines available in this area of the organization as different combination will greatly impact the productivity of the production line together with the profit of the company. This research intend to analyze a new production line in a metal stamping company based on the complain from the company and try to explore the better layout or arrangement in the production line in reflect to the complained problem and constrain of the provided of accept the defect and repair inspection policy. The production line is first being analyzed in response to complain through computer simulation. After the problem had been identified, the researcher tried different alternatives in the attempt to seek for the better layout or arrangement in the production line. The effect of different inspection station allocation layout is then being evaluated in term of the production time. The research has resulted in the finding of the cause for the long production time in the factory which is the long inspection steps which consumed much of the production time. After a few alternatives have been explored in allocating the inspection station, it is obvious that the current approach of the production line is the better one. Even by reducing the number of inspection station, interesting enough, the production time does not seem to decrease but yet increased. This finding contradicts the normal thought of fewer stations means shorter time. This finding could be the founding basic in the future research regarding the allocation of the inspection station following certain provided policy. This is also very helpful in real life practice in company as to help them improve their production time. As for the time being, there is yet a research addressing this issue pertaining the given inspection policy

Modifications were made to the gear stripper, the addition of the inlet funnel, the gear stripper cover, and the exit funnel. The purpose of this modification of the design of the areca nut peeling machine is to make it easier for areca-producing farmers to peel their skin. Engine design specifications, using a 1/2 HP motor with a speed of 1500 rpm, 2-inch, and 10-inch pulleys, and a capacity of 5.16 kg/hour. The result of this modification is stated to be able to perform stripping with a large capacity.     The problem of Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has not stopped. It was necessary to implement the Covid-19 protocol to avoid spreading, one of which is to wash hand regularly using and circulating water. Based on these reasons, it was still necessary to develop automatic hand washing equipment which is currently a primary need in public places, offices, and educational facilities. This study aims to modify the automatic sink using the Arduino Uno R3 microcontroller as a data processor and Ultrasonic HC-SR04 as a sensor; testing the function of the tool, namely automatic soap and water faucet, hand dryer, piezoelectric buzzer as an air level alarm, by utilizing the results of AC condensation as an water source. The results of this automatic sink modification can meet Covid-19 standards and can be used by all groups, especially schools and offices that have started to be active, so that with this tool it can reduce the spread of Covid-19. In addition, it is that the source of water from the condensation can be used as an alternative to water to save the current increasing use of PDAM water

    Starting from the events on the island of Sumatra that often experience forest fires and result in the emergence of smog that can disrupt the respiratory tract in living things, especially in humans. Thus resulting in the emergence of diseases such as ispa, shortness of breath, and other diseases. This is caused by polluted air because the concentration of oxygen (O2) is only a few percent compared to air containing carbon dioxide (CO2), carbon monoxide (CO), sulfide (S2) and other combustion substances. The smoke sensor is useful for activating the fan on the smoke filter tool automatically, the Fan functions as a smoke suction to be forwarded to the room where the smoke is filtered. The workings of this tool are, when the sensor reads the smoke content on the tool more than 140 ppm, then the relay connected to the fan will activate and make the fan spin. After the fan or fan lives, then the smoke will be sucked into a tube, where the tube has a small hose at the end, then the smoke is released at the end of the hose, where the end of the hose is soaked in a container containing water, where the air will be filtered. The results of the filter are sucked back by the fan or fan in another room. If the smoke level has fallen below the threshold of 140 ppm, the fan will automatically die

    Kelompok Tani Cahaya Baru Nagari Persiapan Lubuk Gadang Barat Kecamatan Sangir Kabupaten Solok Selatan telah mendapat penyuluhan dari tim pengabdian masyarakat Politeknik Negeri Padang.  Sosialisi yang diberikan adalah tentang bagaimana cara membuat pupuk kompos dari limbah pertanian. Permasalahan yang ditemukan adalah petani sering kekurangan pupuk untuk memupuk tanamannya. Sehingga untuk memenuhi kebutuhannya harus membeli pupuk dengan harga yang mahal. Solusi  yang ditawarkan untuk mengatasi permasalahan yang terjadi pada kelompok tani  tersebut adalah memberikan penyuluhan cara membuat pupuk kompos dari  limbah pertanian. Dengan memberikan penyuluhan ini diharapkan kelompok tani dapat menyediakan pupuk alami untuk kebutuhan petani di desa Bumi Ayu umumnya dan kelompok tani Cahaya Baru khususnya. Kontribusi mendasar pada khalayak sasaran adalah setelah program pengabdian ini diharapkan petani mampu membuat pupuk kompos yang dapat digunakan sebagai pupuk alam untuk mengatasi ketergantungan terhadap pupuk kimia, sehingga dapat menjaga kesuburan tanah di lahan pertanian

The method used in this study is a practical method that is doing machine design and continued with the manufacture and field testing. The working principle of this machine is to use a motor that functions to move the Gearbox and continue the rotation to the shaft, then the shaft rotates and the bending mall rotates and makes the steel concrete come round and circular.
