Horizon Quantum Mechanics for spheroidal sources
We start investigating the extension of the Horizon Quantum Mechanics to the
case of spheroidal sources. We first study the location of trapping surfaces in
space-times resulting from an axial deformation of static isotropic systems,
and show that the Misner-Sharp mass evaluated on the corresponding undeformed
spherically symmetric space provides the correct gravitational radius to locate
the horizon. We finally propose a way to determine the deformation parameter in
the quantum theory.Comment: 14 pages, 1 figure, final version to appear in EP

To measure the factors that influence the performance of Permanent Lecturers at Buton Muhammadiyah University, multiple analysis is used. The results showed that the motivation, leadership competency, and the work environment of the lecturer had a positive influence on the performance of the Permanent Lecturer at Buton Muhammadiyah University
Fairness Evaluation in Cooperative Hybrid Cellular Systems
Many method has been applied previously to improve the fairness of a wireless communication system. In this paper, we propose using hybrid schemes, where more than one transmission scheme are used in one system, to achieve this objective. These schemes consist of cooperative transmission schemes, maximal ratio transmission and interference alignment, and non-cooperative schemes, orthogonal and non-orthogonal schemes used alongside and in combinations in the same system to improve the fairness. We provide different weight calculation methods to vary the output of the fairness problem. We show the solution of the radio resource allocation problem for the transmission schemes used. Finally, simulation results is provided to show fairness achieved, in terms of Jain's fairness index, by applying the hybrid schemes proposed and the different weight calculation methods at different inter-site distances

Active beamforming network design
This paper describe the design and implementation of multi beam antenna array using active beam forming network for wireless local area networks (WLAN) operating at 2.4 GHz band frequency. In this paper, four beam patterns generated by incorporated a rectangular patch antenna array with active beam forming network using switch line phase shifter. The radiation patterns measurement of multibeam antenna using active beam forming is compared with passive beam forming network using butler matrix. It shows that the multibeam antenna can be produced using this active beam forming network by switching the RF diode towards the required phase shift of the circuit. The comparison between active and passive beamforming have been made and discuss

Delay-Exponent of Bilayer Anytime Code
In this paper, we study the design and the delay-exponent of anytime codes
over a three terminal relay network. We propose a bilayer anytime code based on
anytime spatially coupled low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes and investigate
the anytime characteristics through density evolution analysis. By using
mathematical induction technique, we find analytical expressions of the
delay-exponent for the proposed code. Through comparison, we show that the
analytical delay-exponent has a close match with the delay-exponent obtained
from numerical results.Comment: Accepted for presentation in ITW-2014. 5 Pages, 3 Figure
Sensor material characterisation for magnetometer application
Finite Length Analysis of LDPC Codes
In this paper, we study the performance of finite-length LDPC codes in the
waterfall region. We propose an algorithm to predict the error performance of
finite-length LDPC codes over various binary memoryless channels. Through
numerical results, we find that our technique gives better performance
prediction compared to existing techniques.Comment: Submitted to WCNC 201
Bayesian Tobit quantile regression using-prior distribution with ridge parameter
A Bayesian approach is proposed for coefficient estimation in the Tobit quantile regression model. The
proposed approach is based on placing a g-prior distribution depends on the quantile level on the regression
coefficients. The prior is generalized by introducing a ridge parameter to address important challenges
that may arise with censored data, such as multicollinearity and overfitting problems. Then, a stochastic
search variable selection approach is proposed for Tobit quantile regression model based on g-prior. An
expression for the hyperparameter g is proposed to calibrate the modified g-prior with a ridge parameter to
the corresponding g-prior. Some possible extensions of the proposed approach are discussed, including the
continuous and binary responses in quantile regression. The methods are illustrated using several simulation
studies and a microarray study. The simulation studies and the microarray study indicate that the proposed
approach performs well
