A New Facility for the Experimental Investigation on Nano Heat Transfer between Gas Molecules and Ceramic Surfaces

    Get PDF
Since the last decade, the interest has risen in nanoscaled technological products, which have advantages through their size effect. The size effect also plays a significant role in the area of micro- and nanoscale heat transfers. Many applications were developed using this effect, such as nanostructured porous media, e.g. Aerogels or ceramics. This experimental work is focused on the determination of thermal accommodation coefficients (TAC) on ceramic surfaces considering several influencing factors. TAC is influenced by temperature, kind of gas, kind of wall material, roughness, and contamination with adsorbed gas layers. To determine TAC, a parallel plate apparatus is used, although most of the measurements in the past have been arranged with the hot wire method. Using the parallel plates apparatus is advantageous due to its simpler machining of specimens and to analyze the effect of roughness. The apparatus is build similar to the well-known guarded hot-plate method using an unidirectional heat flux through the gas layer due to a small temperature gradient, which is provided by two different heat foils. The measurements take place between 30 and 100°C, 10−4, and 1 mbar

This papaer entitled electronic toll collection system based on Radio Frequncy Identification System explained in detail based on current issue at toll collection system. There are some obstacles faced every day where the users spent their valuable time in queue at tollgate due to traffic congestion as well as using traditional manual method in most existing toll ETC system to collect toll from road users. Besides that, the barrier design where each vehicle stop waiting until barrier lift which consider source of time delay. To tackle stated problems, an electronic toll collection system is proposed which based on RFID technology. The integrated system consists of two main sections, electronic sides where all input data received from while database management office is where all necessary information stored. To compare the current ETC system, in this research elaborated internet of things where all data transmit through cloud and then to the main office in real time. Not only that, there is some enhancement based on barrier design where, gate is remained open for all vehicles with sufficient tags without requiring to stop to eliminate time delay.By check system throughput compare to existing toll systems, various tests have been carried out in different method where proposed system throughput much higher percentage the current system

A New Approach in Solving Regular and Singular Conformable Fractional Coupled Burger's Equations

The conformable double ARA decomposition approach is presented in this current study to solve one-dimensional regular and singular conformable functional Burger's equations. We investigate the conformable double ARA transform's definition, existence requirements, and some basic properties. In this study, we introduce a novel interesting method that combines the double ARA transform with Adomian's decomposition method, in order to find the precise solutions of some nonlinear fractional problems. Moreover, we use the new approach to solve Burgers' equations for both regular and singular conformable fractional coupled systems. We also provide several instances to demonstrate the usefulness of the current study. Mathematica software has been used to get numerical results

The influence of different tariffs schemes on electricity consumption for the UK domestic buildings.

    Get PDF
yesElectricity Suppliers in competitive electricity markets commonly respond to prices changes which are fluctuating over time, but most consumers respond to the price changes as reflected on their electricity bills. Almost all consumers pay fixed tariffs for their consumption without distinctions based on usage time, so these consumers have had no incentives to reduce their use during the peak times. This paper aims to analyze the influence of different tariff schemes on consumer behaviours in UK domestic buildings. A realistic half hourly electricity load profile for different types of UK households that based mainly on public reports and statistics has been generated. This load profile data were used to help calculate the expected change in consumers' bills under standard tariffs offered from different suppliers to what the cost of electricity would be under time varying tariff (economy7 tariff) and to estimate of how much consumers would shift their load in response to price changes without changing total consumption, for which the results are presented and discussedMSCR

Determination of static voltage stability-margin of the power system prior to voltage collapse.

yesVoltage instability problems in power system are an important issue that should be taken into consideration during the planning and operation stages of modern power system networks. The system operators always need to know how far the power systems from voltage collapse in order to apply suitable action to avoid unexpected results. This paper propose a review of some static voltage stability indices found in the literature to study voltage collapse reveals that various analytical tools based on different concept to predict voltage collapse phenomena. These static voltage stability indices present reliable information about the closeness of the power system to voltage collapse and identification of the weakest bus, line and area in the power network. A number of static voltage stability indices have been proposed in the literature, but in this only four of them will be considered. The effectiveness of these indices is demonstrated through studies in IEEE 14 bus reliability test system. The results are discussed and key conclusion presented.MSCR

Identifying the nature of domestic load profile from a single household electricity consumption measurements.

yesDetailed electricity load profile for domestic building is an important requirement for the accurate analysis of demand side management. The use of electrical appliances within domestic buildings varies significantly with respect to time, mainly in accordance with the activity and behaviour of the occupants. This paper presents results from a monitoring study of electrical energy consumption profiles for One UK household (two adults with children). Measurements for whole household electricity consumption have been obtained over a period of ten months. They were all obtained at one minute interval. Monthly energy consumptions, daily and overall profiles were derived for this household type from the monitored data. It is intended that the results presented in this paper can be used in the quest for a precise forecast method for electricity consumption for occupants living in the same type of household in the UK. This will allow greater confidence in the sizing of, e.g., adopting renewable energy sources in this type of household. Further investigation is needed for a large sample of households to improve the understanding of monitoring high resolution domestic energy consumption.MSCR

Bivariate modified hotelling’s T2 charts using bootstrap data

    Get PDF
The conventional Hotelling’s  charts are evidently inefficient as it has resulted in disorganized data with outliers, and therefore, this study proposed the application of a novel alternative robust Hotelling’s  charts approach. For the robust scale estimator , this approach encompasses the use of the Hodges-Lehmann vector and the covariance matrix in place of the arithmetic mean vector and the covariance matrix, respectively.  The proposed chart was examined performance wise. For the purpose, simulated bivariate bootstrap datasets were used in two conditions, namely independent variables and dependent variables. Then, assessment was made to the modified chart in terms of its robustness. For the purpose, the likelihood of outliers’ detection and false alarms were computed. From the outcomes from the computations made, the proposed charts demonstrated superiority over the conventional ones for all the cases tested
