    EFL Male and Female Students' Perception on Speaking Anxiety in Class-Oral Presentations

    The study attempted to investigate the perceptions of EFL male and female students about speaking anxiety in class-oral presentations and the strategies of EFL male and female students do to handle their speaking anxiety in class-oral presentations. Afterwarrds, the writer set forth two research questions: (1) What are the perceptions of EFL male and female students about speaking anxiety in class-oral presentations? (2) What are the strategies of EFL male and female students do to handle their speaking anxiety in class-oral presentations?. This study employed qualitative strategies by using case study. The participants were 30 second grade students which consists of 15 male and 15 female students from one of private university in Ciamis. The results for the first research question found that male and female students always felt anxiety if they should present a presentation at class and that anxiety was caused by some factors such as anxiety because of their selves, other students and their teachers. Moreover, the results for the second research question revealed that strategies used by students do to handle their speaking anxiety in class-oral presentations as follows. The first, trying to be confident. The second, making the atmosphere more cheerful. The third, well prepare. Finally, it is expected that class-oral presentations make the students feel anxious but still could handle their speaking anxiety with several strategies. Besides, it is suggested for further teachers to find out some technique to improve their ability in teaching English and must consider the aspect of students' psychology such as anxiety and motivation when they teach.

    Self-adjustment is the process of efforts of individuals who strive to achieve success in meeting their inner needs, overcoming conflicts, so they can manage themselves to achieve harmony in meeting their inner needs in the individual's environment. This study aims to describe the adaptability of street children when they become participants in the coaching program at the Home. Informants from this study were five street children who were selected by purposive sampling with the criteria of having a background as a street child, aged + 10 to 18 years, and living in the Wanodyatama Surakarta Women's Social Service Home. Data collection techniques are semi-structured interviews and natural observations. The results of this study are that there are 4 informants in the institution who have not been able to adjust to not being able to control emotions, have poor self-defense mechanisms, experience frustration, have irrational considerations, have not been able to change according to conditions in the institution and are less able to possess realistic in acting and thinking. However, there are 1 informants still in the process of adjusting themselves because sometimes they are still hampered by their ability to control emotions. Factors that influence self-adjustment are social support factors obtained from relationships with parents, support provided by nursing staff, and social control in the form of strict sanctions and regulations from homes for street children

    PROTOTYPE MOBILE INTRA ORAL CAMERA

    Latar Belakang: Foto klinis diperlukan sebagai basis data klinis, dokumentasi, monitoring, demonstrasi dan publikasi. Foto klinis juga dapat dijadikan sarana untuk meningkatkan komunikasi dengan pasien. Hasil survey pada dokter gigi sejumlah 23 responden, 18 tidak memakai dan 5 memakai oral kamera di tempat prakteknya. Pada 23 dokter gigi tersebut mengakui manfaat intra oral kamera. Intra oral kamera ini dapat digunakan untuk mempermudah dokter gigi untuk berinteraksi memberikan edukasi dengan pasien secara efektif. Perlu adanya penciptaan alat baru yang dapat digunakan dan lebih feksibel untuk dibawa pergi kemanapun. Tujuan: Membantu dalam mendokumentasi riwayat kesehatan pasien dalam digital. Membantu mempermudah dokter gigi memberikan edukasi kepada pasien secara langsung terhadap rongga mulut pasien. Metode: Penelitian eksperimental laboratoris dengan menguji alat yang telah dibuat berupa prototype untuk melihat gambaran rongga mulut, melalui kuisioner dengan responden sebesar 30 mahasiswa fakultas kedokteran gigi. Analisis data menggunakan uji korelasi spearman. Hasil: Korelasi signifikan antara bisa tidaknya mobile intra oral camera menggambarkan gambaran rongga mulut dengan 4 variabel lain. Kesimpulan: Hasil gambar dari prototype mobile intra oral camera dapat digunakan untuk melihat gambaran rongga mulut pasien dan alat ini bersifat mobile karena mudah untuk dibawa dokter gigi untuk dibawa pergi kemanapu
