Dynamic stability of long axisymmetric liquid bridges
This paper deals with the non-linear forced oscillations of axisymmetric long liquid bridges between equal disks. The dynamics of the liquid bridge has been analyzed by using a self-similar, one-dimensional model already used in similar problems. The influence of the dynamics on the static stability limits, as well as the main characteristics of the non-linear behaviour of long liquid bridges, have been studied with in the range of validity of the mathematical model used here
Separation equations for 2D superintegrable systems on constant curvature spaces
Second-order conformal quantum superintegrable systems in two dimensions are Laplace equations on a manifold with an added scalar potential and three independent 2nd order conformal symmetry operators. They encode all the information about 2D Helmholtz or time-independent Schrödinger superintegrable systems in an efficient manner: each of these systems admits a quadratic symmetry algebra (not usually a Lie algebra) and is multiseparable. We study the separation equations for the systems as a family rather than separate cases. We show that the separation equations comprise all of the various types of hypergeometric and Heun equations in full generality. In particular, they yield all of the 1D Schrödinger exactly solvable (ES) and quasi-exactly solvable (QES) systems related to the Heun operator. We focus on complex constant curvature spaces and show explicitly that there are eight pairs of Laplace separation types and these types account for all separable coordinates on the 20 flat space and 9 2-sphere Helmholtz superintegrable systems, including those for the constant potential case. The different systems are related by Stäckel transforms, by the symmetry algebras and by Böcher contractions of the conformal algebra so(4, C) to itself, which enables all systems to be derived from a single one: the generic potential on the complex 2-sphere. This approach facilitates a unified view of special function theory, incorporating hypergeometric and Heun functions in full generality

Customer relations have become a key matter in services businesses daily activities. Due to the intangibility of services, the employee service performance is what customers perceive as the reflection of the service quality. Due to this fact, the customer orientation of front-line employees, primarily in services industry, plays a crucial role in getting positives/negatives results with regards to customer satisfaction. Customer orientation of service employees (COSE) is a key concept within marketing literature. It has been demonstrated by previous authors the positives effects that has in customer satisfaction and customer retention (Hennig-Thurau. 2004: Morales and Ruiz-Alba, 2018)
The Proteome of Biologically Active Membrane Vesicles from Piscirickettsia salmonis LF-89 Type Strain Identifies Plasmid-Encoded Putative Toxins
Indexación: Scopus.Piscirickettsia salmonis is the predominant bacterial pathogen affecting the Chilean salmonid industry. This bacterium is the etiological agent of piscirickettsiosis, a significant fish disease. Membrane vesicles (MVs) released by P. salmonis deliver several virulence factors to host cells. To improve on existing knowledge for the pathogenicity-associated functions of P. salmonis MVs, we studied the proteome of purified MVs from the P. salmonis LF-89 type strain using multidimensional protein identification technology. Initially, the cytotoxicity of different MV concentration purified from P. salmonis LF-89 was confirmed in an in vivo adult zebrafish infection model. The cumulative mortality of zebrafish injected with MVs showed a dose-dependent pattern. Analyses identified 452 proteins of different subcellular origins; most of them were associated with the cytoplasmic compartment and were mainly related to key functions for pathogen survival. Interestingly, previously unidentified putative virulence-related proteins were identified in P. salmonis MVs, such as outer membrane porin F and hemolysin. Additionally, five amino acid sequences corresponding to the Bordetella pertussis toxin subunit 1 and two amino acid sequences corresponding to the heat-labile enterotoxin alpha chain of Escherichia coli were located in the P. salmonis MV proteome. Curiously, these putative toxins were located in a plasmid region of P. salmonis LF-89. Identification procedure of mealy apples by instrumental means. Extraction of storage features.
Mealiness is a negative attribute of sensory texture that combines the sensation of a disaggregated tissue with the sensation of lack of juiciness. Since January 1996, a wide EC Project entitled : "Mealiness in fruits. Consumers perception and means for detection'" is being carried out. Within it, three sensory panels have been trained at : the Institute of Food Research (IFR, United Kingdom), the Instituto de Agroquímica y Tecnología de los Alimentos (IATA, Spain) and the Institut voor Agrotechnologisch Onderzoek (ATO-DLO, Netherlands) to assess mealiness in apples. In all three cases, mealiness has been described as a multidimensional sensory descriptor capable of gathering the loss of consistency (of crispness and of hardness) and of juiciness. Also within the EC Project several instrumental procedures have been tested for mealiness assessment. In this sense the Physical Properties Laboratory (ETS1A-UPM) has focused its aims in a first stage on performing instrumental tests for assessing some textural descriptors as crispiness, hardness and juiciness. The results obtained within these tests have shown to correlate well with the sensory measurements (Barreiro et Ruiz-Altisent, 1997) in apples, but also have succeed when trying to generate several texture degradation levels on peaches from which mealiness appears to be the last stage (Ortiz et al. 1997)
Darboux points and integrability of homogeneous Hamiltonian systems with three and more degrees of freedom
We consider natural complex Hamiltonian systems with degrees of freedom
given by a Hamiltonian function which is a sum of the standard kinetic energy
and a homogeneous polynomial potential of degree . The well known
Morales-Ramis theorem gives the strongest known necessary conditions for the
Liouville integrability of such systems. It states that for each there
exists an explicitly known infinite set \scM_k\subset\Q such that if the
system is integrable, then all eigenvalues of the Hessian matrix V''(\vd)
calculated at a non-zero \vd\in\C^n satisfying V'(\vd)=\vd, belong to
\scM_k. The aim of this paper is, among others, to sharpen this result. Under
certain genericity assumption concerning we prove the following fact. For
each and there exists a finite set \scI_{n,k}\subset\scM_k such that
if the system is integrable, then all eigenvalues of the Hessian matrix
V''(\vd) belong to \scI_{n,k}. We give an algorithm which allows to find
sets \scI_{n,k}. We applied this results for the case and we found
all integrable potentials satisfying the genericity assumption. Among them
several are new and they are integrable in a highly non-trivial way. We found
three potentials for which the additional first integrals are of degree 4 and 6

Solution of the Kwiecinski evolution equations for unintegrated parton distributions using the Mellin transform
The Kwiecinski equations for the QCD evolution of the unintegrated parton
distributions in the transverse-coordinate space (b) are analyzed with the help
of the Mellin-transform method. The equations are solved numerically in the
general case, as well as in a small-b expansion which converges fast for b
Lambda_QCD sufficiently small. We also discuss the asymptotic limit of large bQ
and show that the distributions generated by the evolution decrease with b
according to a power law. Numerical results are presented for the pion
distributions with a simple valence-like initial condition at the low scale,
following from chiral large-N_c quark models. We use two models: the Spectral
Quark Model and the Nambu--Jona-Lasinio model. Formal aspects of the equations,
such as the analytic form of the b-dependent anomalous dimensions, their
analytic structure, as well as the limits of unintegrated parton densities at x
-> 0, x -> 1, and at large b, are discussed in detail. The effect of spreading
of the transverse momentum with the increasing scale is confirmed, with
growing asymptotically as Q^2 alpha(Q^2). Approximate formulas for
for each parton species is given, which may be used in practical

Monitoring spinach shelf-life with hyperspectral image through
Different procedures for monitoring the evolution of leafy vegetables, under plastic covers during cold storage, have been studied. Fifteen spinach leaves were put inside Petri dishes covered with three different plastic films and stored at 4 °C for 21 days. Hyperspectral images were taken during this storage. A radiometric correction is proposed in order to avoid the variation in transmittance of the plastic films during time in the hyperspectral images. Afterwards, three spectral pre-processing procedures (no pre-process, Savitsky–Golay and Standard Normal Variate, combined with Principal Component Analysis) were applied to obtain different models. The corresponding artificial images of scores were studied by means of Analysis of Variance to compare their ability to sense the aging of the leaves. All models were able to monitor the aging through storage. Radiometric correction seemed to work properly and could allow the supervision of shelf-life in leafy vegetables through commercial transparent films
Respuesta inmunitaria en la diarrea vírica bovina
El Virus de la diarrea vírica bovina (vDVB) es un virus ARN clasificado dentro de la familia Flaviviridae junto con otros pestivirus como el virus de la peste porcina clásica y el virus de la enfermedad de la frontera de la oveja. El vDVB se ha dividido tradicionalmente en base a sus diferencias genéticas en 2 genotipos o especies distintas, conocidas como genotipo 1 y 2 habiéndose podido tipificar genéticamente distintos aislados de ambos genotipos. Independientemente del genotipo al que pertenezcan, el virus se clasifica en función del efecto que produce sobre ciertos cultivos de células epiteliales bovinas en 2 biotipos: biotipos citopáticos (CP) y biotipos no citopáticos (NCP). Sin embargo, la importancia de las lesiones en el transcurso de procesos causados por cepas NCP no se correlaciona con su virulencia in vitro. Un aspecto poco estudiado en la DVB, fundamental para el desarrollo y mejora de vacunas, es el referente a la respuesta inmunitaria que se desarrolla tanto a nivel sistémico como local en el tejido linfoide de la mucosa intestinal. Trabajos recientes han puesto de manifiesto la existencia de una translocación de la respuesta inmunitaria Th1/Th2, lo que dará lugar a una respuesta inmune aberrante, en la que la respuesta Th1 protectora estaría inhibida por la Th2. Este hecho favorecería unainadecuada proliferación y transformación de los linfocitos B hacia células plasmática, comprometiendo la activación de una respuesta inmunitaria específica frente al vDVB y la producción de anticuerpos neutralizantes. Esta alteración de la respuesta Th1 protectora, junto a la intensa depleción debida a una masiva apoptosis de linfocitos ,que sufre tanto el tejido linfoide asociado a la mucosa intestinal (tonsilas y placas de Peyer) como distintos órganos linfoides, serían las responsables del estado de inmunosupresión que caracteriza a estos animales y predispone a la aparición de procesos bacterianos secundarios
