    Get PDF
Choosing clothes, food recognition and traffic signal analysis are major challenges for visually impaired persons. The existing automatic clothing pattern recognition is also a challenging research problem due to rotation, scaling, illumination, and especially large intra class pattern variations. This project, a camera based assistive framework is proposed to help blind persons for identification of food pattern, clothe pattern and colors in their daily lives. The existing traffic signal using sensors method is difficult to analysis and many components used. A camera based traffic signal analysis method easy to handle, to provide clear traffic signal analysis and reduce the time delay. The system contains the following major components 1) a camera for capturing clothe, food and traffic signal images, a microphone for speech command input; 2) data capture and analysis to perform command control, recognize clothe patterns, food patterns and traffic signal identification by using a wearable computer and 3) a speaker to provide the name of audio outputs of clothe patterns and colors, food patterns and traffic signal analysis, as well as system status. To handle the large intra class variations, a novel descriptor, Radon Signature is proposed to capture the global directionality of clothe patterns, food patterns and traffic signal analysis. To evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed approach CCNY clothes Pattern dataset is used. Our approach achieves 92.55% recognition to improve the life quality, do not depend others. Objective: The present investigation has been focused on the detection of antibacterial activity of methanolic extract by disc diffusion method and the quantitative estimation of phyto constituents from Terminalia chebula, (King of Medicine) by High Performance Thin Layer Chromatography (HPTLC) method. Methods: An in vitro study on the efficacy of methanol extract of T.chebula was carried out. For this analysis, Tannic acid (TA), Gallic acid (GA), Ellagic acid (EA) were as used as standard markers by using toluene: ethyl acetate: formic acid: methanol (4.3:4.3:1:1.2:0.3, V/V/V/V) was used as a mobile phase. Detection and quantification were performed densitometrically at Lambda 254 nm. Results: The methanol extract has shown best activity against test strains. The Rf values of standards were 0.78 for TA, 0.74 for GA and 0.63 for EA. The total peak areas of the standards and the corresponding peak areas of extracts were composed and the statistical analysis was carried out. Conclusions: Based on the present findings, there is a wide opportunity for the development of new drug formulations for the effective treatment against multiple drug resistant micro organisms with no side effects with lesser costs

The experimental materials used were four traditional landraces and six improved high yielding varieties of Tamil Nadu raised in during kharif 2012-2014. Genetic variability parameters on F3 population (20 selected F3 plants) of two cross combination viz., IR 72 x Veeradangan and ADT 39 x Kavuni in F3 population depicted wide range of variability and its ranged from 6.46 to 10.39 mg/100 g while it was from 5.39 to 7.65 mg/100 g in IR 72 x Veeradangan F3 population. Calcium content for IR 72 x Veeradangan in selected F3 population recorded wide range of variability and its ranged from 61.43 to 97.63 mg/100 g with a mean value of 80.67 mg/100 g whereas, ADT 39 x Kavuni in F3 population revealed the low range of variability and its ranged from 53.38 to 94.25 mg/100 g with a mean value of 79.58 mg/100 g for magnesium content. For iron content, IR 72 x Veeradangan in F3 population showed wide range of variability and its ranged from 0.53 to 1.03 mg/100 g with a grand mean of 0.80 mg/100 g whereas, ADT 39 x Kavuni in F3 population ranged from 0.61 to 1.33 mg/100 g and from with a grand mean value of 0.97 mg/100 g. For zinc content, wide range of variability was found in ADT 39 x Kavuni (1.43 to 2.16 mg/100 g) and in IR 72 x Veeradangan (1.51 to 1.98 mg/100 g) in F3 population

Ancient poets sang in many songs about the mediators taken for warriors in Sangam literature. Madurai Maruthan Ilanaganar, a contemporary of the Pandya king Nanmaran Valuthi, mentions his rare ideas about planting in six songs. This article explores the structure, developmental status of the mediators, the engraving, the imprinting of the human figure, the character of the engraver and the disintegration of the figure, the heroic deed of the opposing hero, and the implantation of messages about his heroism with the implant culture

The present article discusses trauma and its impact on human emotions, particularly on women, in literature, with a focus on K R Meera's novel, The Unseeing Idol of Light. The research paper highlights the rise of trauma theory in literature and explores the cultural and psychological influence of trauma in literature. It also analyses the characters in the novel through the lens of emotional imbalance and interdependency and examines the interrelation between vision, love, and trauma. The prevalence of negative emotions over positive emotions in the novel has been discussed. The paper emphasises the importance of mental stability in contemporary society and discusses various themes such as psychic changes, loss, longing, and transformation. The researcher aims to analyse and relate the selected work with critical thinking to shed light on the cultural and psychological impressions of literature.El presente artículo analiza el trauma y su impacto en las emociones humanas, particularmente en las mujeres, en la literatura, con un enfoque en la novela de K R Meera, The Unseeing Idol of Light. Background:The knowledge of various morphological & developmental anomalies of thyroid gland will help the surgeons in better planning of safe & effective surgery. Considering these facts we studied the variations of thyroid gland. Methods:The material for the present study was collected from the department of forensic medicine, MMC & RI, Mysore, which includes 56 male and 33 female adult postmortem cadavers aged between 18 to 80 years. A dissection was carried out to expose thyroid glands & variations were observed in the morphology of thyroid gland. Results: 1) 9% of specimens had agenesis of isthmus. 2) 46% of specimens had pyramidal lobe. 3) 41% of specimens had levator glanduli thyroidae. 4) 2.24 % of specimens had accessory thyroid tissue. Conclusion:This study highlights the various morphological anomalies of the thyroid gland which forms cornerstone to safe & effective surgery

Genetic advance denotes the improvement in the mean genotypic values of selected families over the base population. Thus, it helps the breeder select the progenies in the earlier generation. The objective of the study was to analyse the heritability, genetic advance and genetic variability for ten traits in brinjal contributing to fruit yield were studied in the F2 population obtained from the cross of Sevathampatti local x Seetipulam local. The study examined the subsistence of a significant extent of genetic variability for the traits considered. The characteristics of brinjal exhibited higher values of genotypic variation (GCV), viz., the height of the plant (20.93), yield per plant (17.42), number of branches (22.73)  and shoot infestation (56.39) and phenotypic coefficient of variation (PCV) viz., the height of the plant (21.10), yield per plant (22.32), number of branches (23.42)  and shoot infestation (57.24). However, the number of branches (45.44 %), height of the plant (42.76%), number of fruits (38.58%), fruit yield (28.02%) and shoot infestation (114.4%) exhibited high estimates of genetic advance and heritability for plant height (98.36), number of branches per plant (94.19) and shoot infestation (97.06). These characteristics can be effectively improved through selection. Association analysis mentioned that the yield of the fruit was significantly and positively correlated with the number of fruits, number of branches, individual fruits per plant and fruit girth. Direct selection may be executed because of these characteristics as the key choice of criteria to minimize the indirect result of additional traits throughout the improvement of high yielding varieties
