Influences of magnetic coupling process on the spectrum of a disk covered by the corona
Recently, much attention has been paid to the magnetic coupling (MC) process,
which is supported by very high emissivity indexes observed in Seyfert 1 galaxy
MCG-6-30-15 and GBHC XTE J1650-500. But the rotational energy transferred from
a black hole is simply assumed to be radiated away from the surrounding
accretion disk in black-body spectrum, which is obviously not consistent with
the observed hard power-law X-ray spectra. We intend to introduce corona into
the MC model to make it more compatible with the observations. We describe the
model and the procedure of a simplified Monte Carlo simulation, compare the
output spectra in the cases with and without the MC effects, and discuss the
influences of three parameters involved in the MC process on the output
spectra. It is shown that the MC process augments radiation fluxes in the UV or
X-ray band. The emergent spectrum is affected by the BH spin and magnetic field
strength at the BH horizon, while it is almost unaffected by the radial profile
of the magnetic field at the disk. Introducing corona into the MC model will
improve the fitting of the output spectra from AGNs and GBHCs.Comment: 15 pages, 5 figures, accepted by A&
3D-QSAR studies of checkpoint kinase 1 inhibitors based on molecular docking and CoMFA
Three-dimensional quantitative structure–activity relationship (3D-QSAR) studies were performed on a series of substituted 1,4-dihydroindeno[1,2-c]pyrazoles inhibitors, using molecular docking and comparative molecular field analysis (CoMFA). The docking results from GOLD 3.0.1 provide a reliable conformational alignment scheme for the 3D-QSAR model. Based on the docking conformations and alignments, highly predictive CoMFA model was built with cross-validated q 2 value of 0.534 and non-cross-validated partial least-squares analysis with the optimum components of six showed a conventional r 2 value of 0.911. The predictive ability of this model was validated by the testing set with a conventional r 2 value of 0.812. Based on the docking and CoMFA, we have identified some key features of the 1,4-dihydroindeno[1,2-c]pyrazoles derivatives that are responsible for checkpoint kinase 1 inhibitory activity. The analyses may be used to design more potent 1,4-dihydroindeno[1,2-c]pyrazoles derivatives and predict their activity prior to synthesis
Land use change on the surface area and the influence on carbon
China has diversified landforms, the three-dimensional space area check is more accurate to help determine China’s land use change and the caused carbon variations. This study explored a new method to check China’s surface area and examine the terrestrial carbon changes for the period of 2000–2020. The results show that China’s surface area increased by 13.9% compared with the planar area, with the increased area measuring 133 × 104 km2. The south and the west, especially the southwest, usually have a high area increasing rate. Woodland has the highest area increasing rate for all the provinces. 10% of the land had its land use type changed. Cropland, grassland and unused show total land area decrease, woodland, water, and impervious all increased. The mean increasing rate of land transfer on surface area varied between 1.39% and 38.84%. The total amount of land use-type change caused carbon loss reached − 5907.44 × 104 t, of − 3168.97 × 104 t from vegetation storage loss, − 2738.77 × 104 t from NPP and water. There were only seven provinces show carbon increase, which were more located in the west. Per unit of woodland loss will cause higher carbon release than other land use types. Land use control need to be further strengthened, especially for the protection of woodland at mountain regions
Magnetically asymmetric interfaces in a (LaMnO)/(SrMnO) superlattice due to structural asymmetries
Polarized neutron reflectivity measurements of a ferromagnetic
[(LaMnO)/(SrMnO)] superlattice reveal a modulated
magnetic structure with an enhanced magnetization at the interfaces where
LaMnO was deposited on SrMnO (LMO/SMO). However, the opposite
interfaces (SMO/LMO) are found to have a reduced ferromagnetic moment. The
magnetic asymmetry arises from the difference in lateral structural roughness
of the two interfaces observed via electron microscopy, with strong
ferromagnetism present at the interfaces that are atomically smooth over tens
of nanometers. This result demonstrates that atomic-scale roughness can
destabilize interfacial phases in complex oxide heterostructures.Comment: 5 pages, 4 figure
Correlation effects in the ground state charge density of Mott-insulating NiO: a comparison of ab-initio calculations and high-energy electron diffraction measurements
Accurate high-energy electron diffraction measurements of structure factors
of NiO have been carried out to investigate how strong correlations in the Ni
3d shell affect electron charge density in the interior area of nickel ions and
whether the new ab-initio approaches to the electronic structure of strongly
correlated metal oxides are in accord with experimental observations. The
generalized gradient approximation (GGA) and the local spin density
approximation corrected by the Hubbard U term (LSDA+U) are found to provide the
closest match to experimental measurements. The comparison of calculated and
observed electron charge densities shows that correlations in the Ni 3d shell
suppress covalent bonding between the oxygen and nickel sublattices.Comment: 6 pages, LaTeX and 5 figures in the postscript forma
Three-body forces and neutron star structure
We calculate the nucleonic equation of state within the Brueckner-Bethe-Goldstone formalism using the Argonne v(18) two-body interaction and a three-body interaction. We adopt two different three-body forces: the phenomenological Urbana IX model and a microscopic meson-exchange force including nucleon virtual excitations and nucleon-antinucleon excitations. We compare their respective predictions regarding the structure of neutron stars, in particular the mass-radius relation
