Choriocarcinoma presenting following a molar pregnancy and preterm vaginal delivery: rarest of rare case

Get PDF
Choriocarcinoma is the aggressive histologic type of GTN and is characterized by vascular invasion and metastases of widespread. Choriocarcinoma metastasizes hematogenously. Suction and evacuation were done on admission. Beta-hCG was 67900 mIU/ml and 144523 mIU/ml on day 1 and day 3 respectively and histopathology showed Choriocarcinoma. This is very unusual case of reviewing sequential events. It was difficult to detect is it new pregnancy or choriocarcinoma. Investigators were biased with high beta-hCG values indicating malignancy. So there was differential diagnosis as choriocarcinoma based on history of molar pregnancy and increasing beta-hCG value and also dictum of 'non molar pregnancy following live birth is always choriocarcinoma. However histopathology report suggested choriocarcinoma and was diagnostic

Spreadability of two glass ionomer cements used in Atraumatic Restorative Treatment (ART)

KIM'Press finger' in atraumatic restorative treatment (ART) is used to spread a glass ionomer cement (GIC) to seal the restoration margin and adjacent pits and fissures. This study compared the spreadability of Fuji IX and Ketac-Molar to establish which was best suited for this purpose. Twenty equally spaced cavities (35 mm apart) were machine-cut in each of two Perspex slabs 200 x 100 x 20 mm. Each cavity was 3 mm deep with a 4 mm diameter. Two V-shaped grooves 1 mm deep were cut to traverse the cavities: one 0.5 mm wide, the other 0.25 mm wide. Equal amounts (0.25 ml) of GIC were dispensed, 20 cavities for Fuji IX and 20 for Ketac-Molar and condensed under light finger pressure using a 20 mm diameter cork thinly coated with petroleum jelly. This allowed the GIC to be condensed into the cavity and spread into the differently sized grooves. The samples were stored in deionised water for 24 hours whereafter the length to which the GIC had spread along each groove from the cavity edge was measured to the closest 0.01 mm. The data were analysed using ANOVA and the unpaired Student's t-test (P < 0.05). There was a statistically significant difference between the length of spread of the two GICs (t = 2.534; P = 0.013) which was confined to the 0.25 mm width groove (t = 2.83; P = 0.007) with Fuji IX spreading much further along the groove (10.25 +/- 1.17 mm) than Ketac-Molar (7.66 +/- 4.21 mm). Fuji IX appears to be the better sealant material when selecting for spreadability in ART

An Analysis of DDoS Attack Detection and Mitigation Using Machine Learning System

Get PDF
Nowadays, many companies and/or governments require a secure system and/or an accurate intrusion detection system (IDS) to defend their system service and the userโ€™s private information. In network security, developing an accurate discovery system for distributed denial of service (DDos) attacks is one of challenging tasks. DDos attacks jam the network service of the target using multiple bots hijacked by crackers and send frequent packets to the target server. Servers of many companies and/or governments have been victims of the attacks. In such a command by multiple bots from another network and then leave the bots quickly after command execute. The proposed strategy is to develop an intelligent detection system for DDos attacks by detecting patterns of DDos attacks using system packet analysis and exploiting machine learning techniques to study the patterns of DDos attacks. In this study, we analysed large numbers of network packets provided by the Center for applied internet data analysis and Applied the detection system using an Ad-hoc On-demand distance Vector (AODV) and Adaptive information dissemination (AID) protocols. The discovery system is accurate in detecting DDos

In the previous couple of years, the internet of things (IoT) is gaining additional and a lot of attention each within the academia and in the industrial worlds. A wide accepted notion of the internet of things (IoT) is stated the chance of militarization everyday objects with adequate technology to permit them to speak with alternative objects, identify themselves, or perhaps participate to distribute computing. These things are customarily stated as SO2019;s (Smart Object), might be drawn as actual relics augmented with computing, communication, actuations and storing functionalities. Their importance resides within the capabilities they need to create physical environments 201C;smart201D; therefore as to offer novel cyber physical service to individuals. smart Objects, that are vital elements of the IOT, are everyday objects that are equipped with hardware components like radio for communication, a CPU hardware to process tasks, sensors to be responsive to the globe within which they're located and to regulate it at a given instant. Even so, as sensible objects have restricted resource constraints to appoint sturdy protection mechanisms, they're at risk of subtle security attacks. For this reason, a smart authentication mechanism that considers every helpful resource constraints and safety is needed

Amaranth Starch Isolation, Oxidation, Heat-Moisture Treatment and Application in Edible Film Formation

Starch was isolated from amaranth grains and subjected to modification treatments. Oxidation of isolated starch was done using sodium hypochlorite and heat-moisture treatment was done at 85°C for 6hr keeping the moisture content 30% during treatment. Native and modified starches of amaranth were used for preparation of edible films and different characteristics of films were evaluated. Both the modification treatments increased tensile strength of amaranth starch films. Heat moisture treatment increased water vapour permeability while oxidation had contrary effects on amaranth starch films. Water solubility of films of amaranth starches was reduced by modification treatments of starches. Heat moisture treatments increased yellowness of starch films

Preservation and storage of Lemon (Citrus Limon) Juice

Lemon fruits were sorted and washed before extraction of juice. Extracted juice of lemon fruits was treated with potassium metabisulphite, sodium benzoate and thermal processing. Treated and untreated samples of juice were stored at room and refrigeration temperature for 90 days and analyzed for chemical properties at 15 days of interval during storage. Total sugars, reducing sugars and browning of juice increased during storage. On the contrary, tannin content of juice decreased during storage. Storage at refrigeration temperature was found better effective in preservation and keeping quality of juice showing lesser changes in chemical properties of juice during storage than at room temperature. Results suggested that lemon juice after chemical and pasteurisation treatments can be stored safely at room and refrigeration temperature for 90 days

Unusual Presentation of a Left Testicular Carcinoid

Get PDF
Testicular carcinoid generally presents either with a palpable (painful or painless) or rarely a nonpalpable mass (when it is diagnosed incidentally on scrotal imaging) of the involved testis. An ipsilateral testicular carcinoid presenting exclusively with contralateral testicular symptoms has never been described in the literature to date. We report a case of nonpalpable left testicular carcinoid diagnosed incidentally on a sonogram done for right testicular pain and swelling, with conspicuous absence of left testicular symptoms. This case highlights the importance of recognizing such an atypical presentation of testicular carcinoid
