Weight and envelope dimensions of aircraft gas turbine engines are estimated within plus or minus 5% to 10% using a computer method based on correlations of component weight and design features of 29 data base engines. Rotating components are estimated by a preliminary design procedure where blade geometry, operating conditions, material properties, shaft speed, hub-tip ratio, etc., are the primary independent variables used. The development and justification of the method selected, the various methods of analysis, the use of the program, and a description of the input/output data are discussed

Hubungan Luas Lahan USAhatani Padi Sawah dengan Ketersediaan Beras Rumah Tangga di Desa Cupak Kecamatan Danau Kerinci Kabupaten Kerinci

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Hubungan Luas Lahan Usahatani Padi Sawah dengan Ketersediaan Beras Rumah Tangga di Desa Cupak Kecamatan Danau Kerinci Kabupaten Kerinci. Penelitian ini di laksanakan pada tanggal 06 Februari 2013 s/d 06 Maret 2013 di Desa Cupak Kecamatan Danau Kerinci Kabupaten Kerinci. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari data primer dan data skunder. Populasi petani di Desa Cupak berjumlah 530 KK. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan metode acak sederhana (Simple Random Sampling). Sampel yang diambil adalah sebanyak 15% dari populasi sehingga diperoleh 80 KK petani padi sawah. Untuk mengetahui tentang gambaran ketersediaan beras dalam rumah tangga dan luas lahan USAhatani padi sawah didaerah penelitian, data diolah secara tabulasi dan dilanjutkan dengan analisis deskriptif menggunakan tabel distribusi frekuensi sementara untuk mengetahui hubungan luas lahan USAhatani padi sawah dengan ketersediaan beras dalam rumah tangga digunakan statistik nonparametrik melelui Uji Chi square ( ). Menurut Siagel (1992), uji chi square. Hasil penelitian ini menggungkapkan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara luas lahan USAhatani padi sawah dengan ketersediaan beras rumah tangga di Desa Cupak Kecamatan Danau Kerinci Kabupaten Kerinci. Hubungan luas lahan USAhatani padi sawah dengan ketersediaan beras rumah tangga petani ditunjukkan dengan petani yang memiliki lahan ≥ 0,15 – 0,80 ha beras cukup selama 1 tahun dengan jumlah anggota keluarga 4-5 orang/kk dengan jumlah 58 KK

Sex chromosome positions in human interphase nuclei as studied by in situ hybridization with chromosome specific DNA probes

Two cloned repetitive DNA probes, pXBR and CY1, which bind preferentially to specific regions of the human X and Y chromosome, respectively, were used to study the distribution of the sex chromosomes in human lymphocyte nuclei by in situ hybridization experiments. Our data indicate a large variability of the distances between the sex chromosomes in male and female interphase nuclei. However, the mean distance observed between the X and Y chromosome was significantly smaller than the mean distance observed between the two X-chromosomes. The distribution of distances determined experimentally is compared with three model distributions of distances, and the question of a non-random distribution of sex chromosomes is discussed. Mathematical details of these model distributions are provided in an Appendix to this paper. In the case of a human translocation chromosome (XqterXp22.2::Yq11Y qter) contained in the Chinese hamster x human hybrid cell line 445 x 393, the binding sites of pXBR and CY1 were found close to each other in most interphase nuclei. These data demonstrate the potential use of chromosome-specific repetitive DNA probes to study the problem of interphase chromosome topography

Coherent QED, Giant Resonances and (e+e−)(e^{+}e^{-}) Pairs in High Energy Nucleus-Nucleus Collisions

We show that the coherent oscillations of the e.m. field induced by the collective quantum fluctuations of the nuclear matter field associated with the giant resonances, with frequencies $\omega_{A}\simeq 78A^{-{1/3}}$ MeV, give rise to a significant $(e^+e^-)$ pair production in high energy Heavy Ion collisions. The approximate parameterless calculation of such yield is in good agreement with recent experimental observations.Comment: 27 pages, 13 figure
