Effects of Self-help Groups Intervention on Coping Strategies of Parents of Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

Coping strategies were significant predictors of psychosocial adaptation in parents of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Self-help groups could be effective resources for parents in dealing with problems wile caring for children with ASD. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of self-help groups on coping strategies in parents of children with ASD. This study used pre and post quasi-experimental tests without a control group using self-help group interventions. There were thirty-three participants taken from the Malang City Autism Service Center using purposive sampling. Coping strategies based on cognitive and psychomotor abilities were measured using a questionnaire. The results showed paired t-test in all groups, at 5% significance level, statistically significant difference between mean score before and after self-help group interventions. Coping strategies in groups that received two supervised sessions and four times independently reached higher score compared to other groups. It can be concluded that it is important to implement self-help groups for parents who care for children with special needs

Profil Kemampuan Membaca Siswa Kelas 5 Sekolah Dasar (SD) Dan Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (Mi) Ditinjau Dari Jenis Sekolah Dan Jenis Kelamin

This study wanted to test the reading ability of students in grade 5 elementary school and madrasah, aged 9-11 years in terms of gender and type of school. Data collection tool tests the ability to read and the data entry student sex and type of school that consists of Elementary and MI. Research subjects amounted to 71 students from two schools, which consists of 43 elementary school students and 28 students MI. The results of data analysis showed that there was no difference between reading ability between men and women (p> 0.05). Persecution Act as Filter Bubble Effect: Digital Society and the Shift of Public Sphere

This article discusses persecution acts associated with the filter bubble effect, the condition of digital society, the concept of the public sphere and the rational action theory of Jurgen Habermas. The results, obtained through the literature research method, show that acts of persecution in social media can be caused by the personalization of the web. Social media allows the occurrence of large bubbles (filter bubbles) that make users reject ideologies or other truths. This becomes a revolution of mindset due to the freedom of information. Meanwhile, in the Habermas public sphere concept, which emphasizes the existence of a critical and rational discussion, this phenomenon indicates a shift. The shift that occurs brings about the lifeworld realm as the basis for the formation of the public sphere with its communicative action, again dominated by the system realm that is dominated by capitalist forces through strategic action. Thus, Habermas\u27s initial goal of strengthening civil society\u27s position against the dominance of the system is now changing

Analisis Rasio Profitabilitas dan Rasio Aktivitas sebagai Dasar Penilaian Kinerja Keuangan pada PDAM Tirta Jeneberang Kabupaten Gowa

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kinerja keuangan pada PDAM Tirta Jeneberang Kabupaten Gowa selama 5 tahun (2011-2015) dengan menggunakan analisis rasio profitabilitas dan rasio aktivitas. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif. Populasi dan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah keseluruhan laporan keuangan PDAM Tirta Jeneberang Kabupaten Gowa selama lima tahun yaitu dari tahun 2011 sampai 2015. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa rasio profitabilitas berdasarkan Gross Profit Margin berada di atas standar penilaian dengan perolehan tertinggi pada tahun 2011. Net Profit Margin dan ROI berada dalam kategori kurang baik karena berada di bawah standar penilaian dengan perolehan terendah pada tahun 2014. Pada rasio aktivitas berdasarkan perputaran persediaan berada dalam kategori kurang baik dengan perputaran terendah pada tahun 2015, perputaran aktiva tetap dan total aktiva berada dalam kategori kurang baik dengan perputaran terendah pada tahun 2012. Kinerja keuangan PDAM Tirta Jeneberang Kabupaten Gowa dengan menggunakan rasio profitabilitas dan rasio aktivitas berada dalam kondisi kurang baik karena rata-rata hasil yang diperoleh berada di bawah standar penilaian yang disebabkan oleh PDAM belum mampu mengelola aktivanya dengan baik untuk mencapai profit. Kajian Tugas Dan Fungsi Hubungan Masyarakat Di Kantor Pemerintah Provinsi Sulawesi Utara

Humas atau hubungan masyarakat (public relations) di era modern sekarang ini, tidak dapat disangkal terasa sangat penting. Hal ini disebabkan karena kapasitas humas yang harus mampu menciptakan image (citra) dan opini yang vavourable terhadap publik baik yang ada di dalam organisasi termpat humas itu berinduk (publik internal), maupun terhadap publik di luar organisasi (publik eksternal). Karena dengan adanya citra dan opini yang baik, maka tujuan dan sasaran organisasi akan mudah tercapai.Demikian pula halnya dengan tugas dan fungsi hubungan masyarakat di kantor pemerintah Propinsi Sulawesi Utara. Di dalam penelitian dengan menggunakan metode pendekatan kualitatif, maka diperoleh hasil bahwa tugas dan fungsi humas ternyata berjalan dengan baik, dan umumnya para petugas PRO (public relations officers) memnunjukkan kinerja yang baik, melalui aktivitas kerja sehari-hari mereka. Meskipun demikian disadari kinerja mereka kerap terhambat oleh fasilitas yang dirasakan masih terbatas, terutama menyangkut peralatan-peralatan peliputan dan untuk dokumentasi. Serta sumber daya manusia yang dirasakan belum cukup memadai

Remuneration, Motivation, and Performance: Employee Perspectives

Remuneration is a reward from company/ institution for their employees [3]. There are some conflicts between employee and employer. Therefore, this research aims to examine the influence of motivation and remuneration on performance from employee perspective. The sample technique is convenience sampling. Data were analysed using WARP PLS 5.0. The result shows motivation significantly influence employee performance. Hence the rise of employee motivation will leads to better performance. However, remuneration does not effects performance of employees. This is because that the remuneration is a result. In other words, the remuneration is the reward of all the efforts that has been done by the employee. Hence it is not a driving factor for employee to improve their performance. Therefore this research has huge contribution for remuneration theory that applied in institutions. ANALISIS KETERCAPAIAN DAN KONTRIBUSI KOMPONEN PENDAPATAN ASLI DAERAH KABUPATEN GOWA

Pendapatan Asli Daerah (PAD) memiliki peran penting dalam menentukan kemampuan daerah untuk menjalankan roda pemerintahan. Seiring dengan munculnya aturan daerah mandiri yang dibawa dalam Undang-undang Otonomi Daerah, maka setiap daerah harus mampu menggali potensi daerahnya masing-masing untuk pembangunan infrastruktur dan rumah tangga pemerintahan. Kabupaten Gowa merupakan daerah yang berbatasan langsung dengan Kota Makassar, ibu Kota Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan, sehingga dianggap sebagai daerah dengan jenis PAD yang beragam.  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui (1) realisasi PAD Kabupaten Gowa, (2) index pertumbuhan komponen PAD Kabupaten Gowa dan (3) kontribusi komponen PAD Kabupaten Gowa. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa data time series dari laporan target dan realisasi PAD Kabupaten Gowa tahun 2014-2018. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tingkat pencapaian dan realisasi PAD Kabupaten Gowa mengalami trend yang fluktuatif dengan nilai rata-rata 109,03% sehingga dapat dinyatakan sangat efektif. Tingkat pertumbuhan PAD Kabupaten Gowa menunjukkan angka pertumbuhan yang fluktuatif dengan nilai rata-rata pertumbuhan 10,36% sehingga dapat dinyatakan belum berhasil. Realisasi setiap komponen PAD berada di atas angka 100% sehingga dapat dinyatakan sangat efektif. Kontribusi setiap komponen PAD Kabupaten Gowa cenderung stagnan dimana secara rata-rata kontributor terbesar secara berurut yaitu pajak sebesar 44,86% (baik), retribusi sebesar 16,91% (kurang), pengelolaan kekayan daerah sebesar 35,00% (sedang), dan pendapatan lainnya sebesar 3,24% (sangat kurang)

The research about " Dawn Education of the As-Salam Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah Awaliyah (MDTA) in Pekanbaru." Formulation of the problem that how the dissemination of religious values through education of the dawn of Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah Awaliyah (MDTA) As-Salam in Pekanbaru? How the influence of religious values in the activity patterns of children behaviour in Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah Awaliyah (MDTA) As-Salam in Pekanbaru? This research aims to explain about how the process of socialization and the effect on the child's behavior, students after graduating from MDTA As-Salam. The research used Qualitative methods. The subject in this study is as much as eight children. There are some techniques of Data collection that document, observation and interview. The result of this research shows that there is no problems of process of socialization in MDTA As-Salam, everything went smoothly and easily. But, only the problem of the children in the study, and the effect on what brings the child against the behaviour, be it in terms of implementing the prayers, the Qur'an, as well as akhlaq, memorizing prayers/surah read taught. Whether it was all digested and aplicated? or only practiced just in school surroundings while out of school is no longer in practise. The Effect of Corn Silk Tea on Blood Glucose Level in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

Background: Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a major public health problem world-wide. Current global estimates indicate that this condition affects 415 million people and is set to escalate to 642 million by the year 2040. Persistently high blood glucose levels can lead to serious life-changing and life threatening complications. Corn silk (Zea mays l) contains stigma sterol and sitosterol, which are highly effective in preventing heart disease and high cholesterol. It also has plant acids that help in improving oral and skin conditions as well as regulating glucose levels in the body. The most common way to make use of corn silk is in the form of tea. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of corn silk tea in reducing blood glucose level among patients with type 2 DM. Subjects and Method: : This was a quasi-experiment (non-randomized) before and after with control design conducted at Puskesmas (Community Health Center) Paron, Ngawi, East Java. A total of 60 type 2 DM patients were selected for this study and divided into 2 groups: 30 patients in the corn silk tea group and 30 patients in the control group. The dependent variable was blood glucose level. The independent variable was corn silk tea. Data on fasting blood glucose was measured by spectrophotometry. Nutrition intake was measured by 24 hour food recall. The data were compared and tested by t-test. Results: Mean blood glucose level was lower after intervention than before intervention in the corn silk tea group, and it was statistically significant (p= 0.014). Mean blood glucose level was comparable between before and after intervention in the control group, and it was statistically non-significant (p= 0.502). Conclusion: Corn silk tea is effective to reduce blood glucose level in patients with type 2 DM. Keywords: type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, corn silk tea, blood glucose
