Radiative two-pion decay of the tau lepton

We consider the bremsstrahlung and model-dependent contributions to the radiative decay τππ0ντγ\tau^- \to \pi^-\pi^0\nu_{\tau}\gamma in the context of a meson dominance model. We focus on several observables related to this decay, including the branching ratio and the photon and di-pion spectra. Particular attention is paid to the sensitivity of different observables upon the effects of model-dependent contributions and of the magnetic dipole moment of the ρ(770)\rho^-(770) vector meson. Important numerical differences are found with respect to results obtained in the framework of chiral perturbation theory.Comment: 14 pages, 8 figures, submitted for publicatio

SUMMARY   From 19 February to 14 June 2020, the European Commission held a Public Consultation on several policy and regulatory proposals that are currently being considered in the area of Artificial Intelligence (AI). This consultation was centered on two main documents presented by the Commission: the White Paper on Artificial Intelligence[1] and the “Report on the safety and liability implications of Artificial Intelligence, the Internet of Things and robotics”[2]. The consultation also included an online survey[3], where the central themes of those two documents were covered in a summarized way. In November 2020, the results of the consultation were presented, as well as the texts accepted for publication[4]. In order to participate in this pre-legislative process, a working group was created within the Faculty of Law and Political Science of the Lusófona University of Porto, which presented a contribution that was accepted and published by the European Commission[5]. The White Paper is centred in one powerful objective which is “to enable a trustworthy and secure development of AI in Europe, in full respect of the values and rights of EU citizens”, and for that presents two central ideas considered essential to attain it that are to create an ecosystem of excellence along the entire value chain and an ecosystem of trust that ensure compliance with EU rules, including rules protecting fundamental rights and consumers’ rights.  The text that follows is divided in two main parts: Part I is focused on presenting an overview on the three main topics pointed out at the consultation: Excellence, Trust and Liability; Part II corresponds to text of the contribution submitted in the Public Consultation held by the European Commission.   Keywords: Artificial Intelligence; Liability; Cybercrime; Ethics; Competition   [1] White Paper on Artificial Intelligence - A European approach to excellence and trust (COM(2020) 65 final), available on: https://ec.europa.eu/info/sites/info/files/commission-white-paper-artificial-intelligence-feb2020_en.pdf  [2] Report on the safety and liability implications of Artificial Intelligence, the Internet of Things and robotics (COM/2020/64 final), available on: https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legalcontent/en/TXT/?qid=1593079180383&uri=CELEX%3A52020DC0064 [3] https://ec.europa.eu/newsroom/dae/document.cfm?doc_id=68461 [4] https://ec.europa.eu/newsroom/dae/document.cfm?doc_id=68462 - Public consultation on the AI White Paper Final report. Production management model through MPS and line balancing to reduce the non-fulfillment of orders in lingerie clothing MSEs in Peru

    Get PDF
The focus of this research is to establish control and planning management in the sewing production process of lingerie clothing to better prepare companies for demand growth. The lack of improvement tools in this sector, the lack of staff training and a lack of quality culture has led to companies, especially MYPES, not being able to meet the established delivery times and non-fulfillment of orders with the customers, which represents 80% of dissatisfied orders due to the limited production capacity and non-productive time in the plant. This problem is due to limited production capacity, deficient production planning, and lack of materials. In order to solve this problem, industrial engineering tools were used. The application of these tools improved production from 79% to 95%

Polymorphic transformation from body-centered to face-centered cubic vanadium metal during mechanosynthesis of nanostructured vanadium nitride determined by extended x-ray absorption fine structure spectroscopy

    Get PDF
The pathway for vanadium nitride VN formation obtained by milling treatment has been traced out. At the initial stages of the process, the reactant, vanadium metal, showing body-centered cubic bcc structure, becomes highly distorted. Simultaneously, the formation of a small nucleus of the product, VN, takes place. X-ray absorption spectroscopy XAS has allowed the quantification of the distortion degree as well as the detection of the VN nucleus in the early stages of their formation, while other standard structural characterization techniques are unable to detect such phenomena. For increasing milling times, apart from the expected increase in the size of the VN nucleus, a polymorphic transformation from bcc to fcc vanadium metal has been recorded. This phase might play a key role in the overall synthesis process and could be a reaction intermediate in other solid state processes involving V metal. The sensitivity of XAS to noncrystalline domains and to highly distorted environments, as well as the use of high resolution x-ray diffraction, has provided the relevant information to understand the whole reaction process.European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF)-ME-737SpLine CRG (beamline BM25 at the ESRF)-25- 01-657Ministerio de Educación y Ciencias de España-BQU2002-04364-C02-01 y BQU2002- 04364-C02-

    Realidad aumentada en visualización

    Get PDF
