    This project describes an approach to create an On-the-fly Map Generator for Openstreetmap Data Using WebGL. The most common methods to generate online maps generate PNG overlay tile images from a wide range of data sources, like GeoJSON, GeoTIFF, PostGIS, CSV, and SQLite, etc., based on the coordinates and zoom-level. This project aims to send vector data for the map to the browser and hence render maps on-the-fly using WebGL. We push all of the vector computation to the GPU. This means that less data needs to be sent to the browser. We have compared existing approaches to our method of generating maps and have been able to show that our method provides a faster and better solution

    Drugs and drug targets against malaria

    The development of resistance by the parasite against first line and second line antimalarial drugs, has underscored the importance to develop new drug targets and pharmacophores to treat the disease. The absence of a vaccine for protection and the availability of artemisinin and its derivatives as the only option has made the situation rather serious. With the availability of increased support for malaria research, a variety of drug targets and candidate molecules are now available for further development. However, the success rate of a candidate molecule to become a drug is very low and it does become necessary to start with a large basket, identified on a rational basis. This review focuses on the present efforts to identify a variety of drug targets in the malaria parasite and to develop candidate drug molecules

    Dewasa ini, perkembangan teknologi sangat meningkat, khususnya pada teknologi smartphone. Begitu banyak aplikasi pada smartphone yang dapat dengan mudah diakses dan dimanfaatkan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Salah satunya adalah pendukung dalam bidang edukasi, selain itu pengguna aplikasi smartphone telah menjangkau segala usia termasuk remaja dan anak-anak sehingga memunculkan aplikasi permainan yang hanya bertujuan untuk menarik pengguna serta mengesampingkan unsur pembelajaran yang bermanfaat. Game yang dibangun merupakan penggabungan metode pembangkit labirin dinamis hasil pengembangan Algoritma Prims yang bertujuan untuk mengatur bentuk labirin yang berbeda disetiap level yang dipilih, sensor accelerometer untuk bantuan control permainan yang terdapat pada smartphone android serta berfokus pada pembelajaran berhitung. Dimensi labirin merupakan salah satu faktor tantangan dalam game ini, sehingga semakin tinggi level yang dipilih semakin besar pula dimensi labirin yang dibangun namun tetap diperhitungkan dengan faktor tantangan yang lain seperti soal, jawaban dan musuh. Berdasarkan pengujian yang dilakukan, game mampu memberikan perancangan aturan main, membangkitkan labirin dinamis dengan susunan yang beragam serta dimensi labirin mampu menyesuaikan dengan perhitungan bobot faktor tantangan pada setiap level yang tersedia sehingga, game yang dibangun pada tugas akhir ini mampu menjadi permainan yang menarik, tidak hanya berfokus memberikan hiburan bagi pemain namun juga memberikan unsur pembelajaran terutama pembelajaran berhitung. ========================================================================================================== Today, technological developments highly increased, especially in smartphone technology. So many applications on a smartphone that can be easily accessed and used in daily life. One of which is support in the educating, other than the smartphone application users have been reach all ages included teens and children that led to game applications which is intended to attract users and rule out elements of educating. This game is the combination of dynamic labyrinth generator method results from Prim's algorithm development which aims to set up a maze of different designs in each level is selected, accelerometer sensor for support game control and games that focus on learning math. Dimensional maze is one of the challenge factors in this game, so the higher level is selected the bigger dimensional maze was built but still calculated by other challenge factors such as questions, answers and enemies. Based on testing performed, the game is able to provide designing rules of the game, generate dynamic labyrinth with a variety of designs and the dimensions of labyrinth is able to adjust the weight of calculate challenge factors at every level is available so that, games was built in this final project is able to be an interesting game, not focused only provide entertainment for the players but also give an element of learning, especially learning math

    Artemisinin-based combination with curcumin adds a new dimension to malaria therapy

    Malaria afflicts 300 million people worldwide, with over a million deaths every year. With no immediate prospect of a vaccine against the disease, drugs are the only choice to treat it. Unfortunately, the parasite has become resistant to most antimalarials, restricting the option to use artemisinins (ARTs) for effective cure. With the use of ARTs as the front-line antimalarials, reports are already available on the possible resistance development to these drugs as well. Therefore, it has become necessary to use ART-based combination therapies to delay emergence of resistance. It is also necessary to discover new pharmacophores to eventually replace ART. Studies in our laboratory have shown that curcumin not only synergizes with ART as an antimalarial to kill the parasite, but is also uniquely able to prime the immune system to protect against parasite recrudescence in the animal model. The results indicate a potential for the use of ART- curcumin combination against recrudescence/relapse in falciparum and vivax malaria. In addition, studies have also suggested the use of curcumin as an adjunct therapy against cerebral malaria. In this review we have attempted to highlight these aspects as well as the studies directed to discover new pharmacophores as potential replacements for ART

Kereta api uap bergerigi ini sangat unik dan merupakan salah satu dari tiga yang masih tersisa di dunia. Dua di antaranya ada di Swiss dan India. Selain koleksi-koleksi unik tadi, masih dapat disaksikan berbagai macam jenis lokomotif uap dari seri B, C, D hingga jenis CC yang paling besar (CC 5029, Schweizerische Lokomotiv und Maschinenfabrik) di halaman museum

    Japanese encephalitis: pathogenesis, prophylactics and therapeutics

    Japanese encephalitis (JE) is one of the most dreaded mosquito-borne viral encephalitis known to afflict humans. The Japanese encephalitis virus (JEV) is a neurotropic flavivirus that affects the CNS, causing extensive damage that may lead to fatality in about one third of patients. Half of the survivors suffer from severe neuropshychiatric sequelae. With nearly 3 billion people living under the current JE-endemic region, recurring incidents of epidemic are being reported at regular intervals. With no established antiviral therapies against JE available, vaccination has been the only way of preventing JE. Two types of JE vaccines are currently in vogue although the safety of administering them is questionable, in certain individuals. Thus, there is a need to develop a safe, affordable and potent JE vaccine and this review addresses the current efforts in this direction. This review also focuses on the pathophysiology of JE and efforts towards a possible breakthrough in anti-JEV therapy
