Climate Security

Since the early 1970s, many declarations, plans, and decisions to climate policy have been initiated, and splendid helper markets have come into existence under headwords such as mitigation, adaptation, sustainability, decarbonisation, and transformation. Indeed, practical policies to effective climate protection are still missing in many areas such as civil and military aviation, automobile traffic, tankers, or agriculture (particularly rice production); coal and oil burning has even more risen in many regions. So, global greenhouse gas emissions are still increasing, together with rising atmospheric GHG concentrations and global average temperatures - an ongoing disaster with already existing grave damages and dynamic risk-building for humankind. Hence, the current global climate policy turns out to be ineffective and self-deceptive; a new approach of climate protection appears to be urgently needed: Climate security (Klima-Gefahrenabwehr)

Bound Governance - Theorie der zivilen Moderne

Aproximación crítica a la moneda social española: De los billetes municipales al auxilio social con moneda complementaria. 1936-2017

El dinero no puede sustraerse al estudio y a la revisión de su función social. Su uso y los fenómenos sociales que subyacen a él son de gran interés para las Ciencias Sociales. En este trabajo se muestran los resultados de un estudio comparativo sobre los sistemas de intercambio alternativos a las transacciones económicas, en concreto el uso de las monedas sociales utilizadas en épocas de crisis y empleadas como instrumentos de desarrollo local, en relación con las monedas sociales modernas. Se ha realizado una búsqueda y localización de la existencia y características de las monedas y billetes sociales en cada momento histórico, a lo largo de una extensa investigación documental; además del empleo de la técnica Delphi. Se presenta un análisis del impacto social del mencionado dinero complementario desde un punto de vista sociológico, psicológico y socioeconómico, así como de la influencia que ejerce como nueva herramienta de intervención social.Money should not be able to escape the study and review of its social function. The use and social phenomena related to money and complementary currencies are of great interest to the social sciences. This work presents the results of a comparative study about alternative systems of exchange for economic transactions, used in times of crisis as instruments of local development and in relation to modern social currencies. An in depth research and localization of the existence and characteristics of social currencies was carried out for each historical moment in an extensive documental investigation apart from using the Delphi technique. The aim is to contribute to the scientific knowledge and obtain a better understanding of these tendencies of social and new economy. The paper presents, therefore, an analysis of the social impact of that additional form of money and complementary currency from a sociological, psychological and socio-economical perspective, as well as a new tool of social intervention.Tesis Univ. The Youth from Chimtou

1974 wurde bei den Ausgrabungen in Chimtou nordwestlich von Tunis im Heiligtum der Dii Mauri die Marmorstatue eines nackten stehenden Jünglings entdeckt. Es handelt sich um eine Skulptur aus severischer Zeit mit Rückgriffen auf bekannte Vorbilder wie den sog. Dresdner Knaben in Kombination mit anderen spätklassischen Jünglingsfiguren. Aufgrund der Handhaltung des linken Armes lässt sich eine Strigilis ergänzen, die die Statue als Athleten ausweist. Zu diesem passt die auf Hochglanz polierte Oberfläche. Wahrscheinlich war dieser ursprünglich in einer der Hallen des auf der Bergkuppe gelegenen Saturn-Tempels aufgestellt.The statue of a nude standing male youth was found in 1974 in the sanctuary of the Dii Mauri at Chimtou in northwestern Tunisia. It is reminiscent of the »Dresden Youth«, but it is an original product of the Severan period, and represents a boy in his teenage years. Its highly polished surface is remarkable, since ancient surfaces are rarely preserved. He appears to have held a strigil in his left hand, and was therefore probably an athlete.
