Multiple Feasible Paths in Ant Colony Algorithm for mobile Ad-hoc Networks with Minimum Overhead

Mobile ad-hoc networks are infrastructure-less networks consisting of wireless, possibly mobile nodes which are organized in peer-to-peer and autonomous fashion. The highly dynamic topology, limited bandwidth availability and energy constraints make the routing problem a challenging one. Ant colony optimization (ACO) is a population based meta-heuristic for combinatorial optimization problems such as communication network routing problem. In real life, ants drop some kind of chemical substances to mark the path that they used. Then on their way, back they choose the path with the highest pheromones which becomes the shortest path. But Ant net Algorithms may cause the network congestion and stagnation. Here, multiple optimal paths are proposed with negligible overhead in spite of single optimal path in Ant net routing algorithm, so that the problem of stagnation can be rectified. This paper proposes an improved Multiple Feasible Paths in Ant Colony Algorithm for mobile Ad-hoc Networks with Minimum Overhead

An improved simulated annealing algorithm for standard cell placement

Simulated annealing is a general purpose Monte Carlo optimization technique that was applied to the problem of placing standard logic cells in a VLSI ship so that the total interconnection wire length is minimized. An improved standard cell placement algorithm that takes advantage of the performance enhancements that appear to come from parallelizing the uniprocessor simulated annealing algorithm is presented. An outline of this algorithm is given

A STUDY ON EFFICACY OF AUTOLOGOUS PLATELET RICH PLASMA IN MYRINGOPLASTY

Objective: To study the efficacy and advantage in using autologus platelet rich plasma during myringoplasty in closure of tympanic membrane perforation   preventing the graft displacement, promoting quicker healing & improving overall outcome. Methods : Platelet rich plasma(PRP) is an autologus platelet rich concentrate prepared from patients own blood  with growth factors up to 8 times that of normal serum and its efficacy when used during myringoplasty is studied.50 patients with chronic otitis media inactive mucosal disease were randomly chosen and 25 of them was the study group and other 25 were the control group. Both group patients underwent myringoplasty and PRP was used in the study group and the results were evaluated. Results: In our study among 25 cases that underwent myringoplasty with use of platelet rich fibrin, 24 had complete tympanic membrane closure and only one failure has been noticed. In controls 5 out of 25 cases had failure. The graft take up rate in our study is comparable with the reference studies. Use of PRP accelerates graft uptake. Conclusion: Platelet rich plasma is a cheap and cost effective platelet concentrate with enriched growth factors. It accelerates the tympanic membrane closure following myringoplasty.

A parallel algorithm for global routing

A Parallel Hierarchical algorithm for Global Routing (PHIGURE) is presented. The router is based on the work of Burstein and Pelavin, but has many extensions for general global routing and parallel execution. Main features of the algorithm include structured hierarchical decomposition into separate independent tasks which are suitable for parallel execution and adaptive simplex solution for adding feedthroughs and adjusting channel heights for row-based layout. Alternative decomposition methods and the various levels of parallelism available in the algorithm are examined closely. The algorithm is described and results are presented for a shared-memory multiprocessor implementation
