Observation of the Decay B^-→D_s^((*)+)K^-ℓ^-ν̅ _ℓ
We report the observation of the decay B^- → D_s^((*)+)K^-ℓ^-ν̅ _ℓ based on 342 fb^(-1) of data collected at the Υ(4S) resonance with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II e^+e^- storage rings at SLAC. A simultaneous fit to three D_s^+ decay chains is performed to extract the signal yield from measurements of the squared missing mass in the B meson decay. We observe the decay B^- → D_s^((*)+)K^-ℓ^-ν̅ _ℓ with a significance greater than 5 standard deviations (including systematic uncertainties) and measure its branching fraction to be B(B^- → D_s^((*)+)K^-ℓ^-ν̅ _ℓ)=[6.13_(-1.03)^(+1.04)(stat)±0.43(syst)±0.51(B(D_s))]×10^(-4), where the last error reflects the limited knowledge of the D_s branching fractions
Ground state properties of heavy alkali halides
We extend previous work on alkali halides by calculations for the heavy-atom
species RbF, RbCl, LiBr, NaBr, KBr, RbBr, LiI, NaI, KI, and RbI. Relativistic
effects are included by means of energy-consistent pseudopotentials,
correlations are treated at the coupled-cluster level. A striking deficiency of
the Hartree-Fock approach are lattice constants deviating by up to 7.5 % from
experimental values which is reduced to a maximum error of 2.4 % by taking into
account electron correlation. Besides, we provide ab-initio data for in-crystal
polarizabilities and van der Waals coefficients.Comment: accepted by Phys. Rev.

A case of Incontinentia Pigmenti associated with congenital absence of portal vein system and nodular regenerative hyperplasia
Congenital absence of portal vein system (CAPVS) is a rare condition in which portal perfusion is bypassed by portosystemic shunt leading to the development of portal hypertension (PH) or porto‐systemic encephalopathy (PSE). Visceral anomalies and liver cancer can be associated with CAPVS1.Thanks to the advances in imaging, the number of CAPVS cases detected has increased. Incontinentia Pigmenti (IP) (OMIM #308300) also represents a rare condition, characterized by skin, teeth, hair, nails, eyes and central nervous system alterations, due to mutations of NEMO/IKBKG gene. We report on the first case of IP associated with CAPVS and nodular regenerative hyperplasia (NRH) of the liver, in a patient with facial dysmorphisms and speech delay. Although rare, this finding may support the role of NEMO in liver homeostasis

Project-based Temporary Organizing and Routine Dynamics
Projects are forms of organizing that have become increasingly common in the past decades. The ad-hoc and temporary nature of projects seemingly poses significant challenges to the patterning of activities into organizational routines. Yet, considerable research in routine dynamics has been carried out in project contexts. In this chapter, we show that projects and routines share some common characteristics and that acknowledging the project nature of routines as well as the organizational routine nature of projects offers significant opportunities for the advancement of routine dynamics research

Weak ferromagnetism with very large canting in a chiral lattice: (pyrimidine)2FeCl2
The transition metal coordination compound (pyrimidine)2FeCl2 crystallizes in
a chiral lattice, space group I 4_1 2 2 (or I4_3 2 2). Combined magnetization,
Mossbauer spectroscopy and powder neutron diffraction studies reveal that it is
a canted antiferromagnet below T_N = 6.4 K with an unusually large canting of
the magnetic moments of 14 deg. from their general antiferromagnetic alignment,
one of the largest reported to date. This results in weak ferromagnetism with a
ferromagnetic component of 1 mu_B. The large canting is due to the interplay
between the antiferromagnetic exchange interaction and the local single-ion
anisotropy in the chiral lattice. The magnetically ordered structure of
(pyrimidine)2FeCl2, however, is not chiral. The implications of these findings
for the search of molecule based materials exhibiting chiral magnetic ordering

Novel iodoacetamido benzoheterocyclic derivatives with potent antileukemic activity are inhibitors of STAT5 phosphorylation
Signal Transducer and Activator of Transcription 5 (STAT5) protein, a component of the STAT family of signaling proteins, is considered to be an attractive therapeutic target because of its involvement in the progression of acute myeloid leukemia. In an effort to discover potent molecules able to inhibit the phosphorylation-activation of STAT5, twenty-two compounds were synthesized and evaluated on the basis of our knowledge of the activity of 2-(3′,4′,5′-trimethoxybenzoyl)-3-iodoacetamido-6-methoxy benzo[b]furan derivative 1 as a potent STAT5 inhibitor. Most of these molecules, structurally related to compound 1, were characterized by the presence of a common 3′,4′,5′-trimethoxybenzoyl moiety at the 2-position of different benzoheterocycles such as benzo[b]furan, benzo[b]thiophene, indole and N-methylindole. Effects on biological activity of the iodoacetamido group and of different moieties (methyl and methoxy) at the C-3 to C-7 positions were examined. In the series of benzo[b]furan derivatives, moving the iodoacetylamino group from the C-4 to the C-5 or C-6 positions did not significantly affect antiproliferative activity. Compounds 4, 15, 20 and 23 blocked STAT5 signals and induced apoptosis of K562 BCR-ABL positive cells. For compound 23, the trimethoxybenzoyl moiety at the 2-position of the benzo[b]furan core was not essential for potent inhibition of STAT5 activation
Measurement of the Branching Fraction of the Decay in Fully Reconstructed Events at Belle
We present an analysis of the exclusive
decay, where represents an
electron or a muon, with the assumption of charge-conjugation symmetry and
lepton universality. The analysis uses the full data sample
collected by the Belle detector, corresponding to 711 fb of integrated
luminosity. We select the events by fully reconstructing one meson in
hadronic decay modes, subsequently determining the properties of the other
meson. We extract the signal yields using a binned maximum-likelihood fit to
the missing-mass squared distribution in bins of the invariant mass of the two
pions or the momentum transfer squared. We measure a total branching fraction
of , where the
uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. This result is the
