The Use of Students’ Worksheets/Lembar Kerja Siswa (LKS) and Its Effects for 7th Grade Students’ English Learning at SMP IT Rahmat Marindal I, Kec. Patumbak, Kab. Deli Serdang
Student’s Worksheet (LKS) is a student guide that is used to carry out learning
activities and can be in the form of an experimental guide or a demonstration. At
SMP IT Rahmat Marindal I, Kec. Patumbak, Kab. Deli Serdang, the seventh
grade English learning mostly uses printed books or student handbooks, while the
worksheets are still not used properly. Finally, the teacher only provides material
in the form of notes from the book. In fact, LKS is very important to use because
it contains various kinds of questions that can train students’ listening, speaking,
reading, and writing skills. The research aims to determine whether there is a
significant effect on the use of students’ worksheets (LKS) in learning English for
7
th grade students. The researcher uses the quasi-experimental research. The
method used in data collection in this study is test method by using Independent
T-Test. In this study, the test method is used to obtain the value of learning
outcomes using LKS and the test used is objective. Based on the results of the
independent t-test that had been done, the average scores in the experimental class
are 82.63 with a standard deviation of 12.614. While the average scores in the
control class is 73.03 with a standard deviation of 13.433. From the results of the
study, it can be concluded that it shows that there are significant differences in
student scores in learning English using Student Worksheets (LKS) and without

STRATEGI PEMBELAJARAN MAHASISWA DI DAERAH TERPENCIL: DAMPAK PANDEMI COVID-19
Abstrak: Penelitian ini berfokus pada bagaimana strategi yang digunakan oleh mahasiswa perguruan tinggi yang tinggal di daerah terpencil berhasil bertahan untuk mengikuti perkuliahan dengan baik. Untuk melakukan penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif. Salah satu teknik yang digunakan dalam metode kualitatif adalah wawancara (wawancara terpandu-virtual). Wawancara ini dilakukan untuk menggali lebih dalam informasi yang berkaitan dengan strategi pembelajaran yang dilakukan oleh siswa (partisipan). Studi ini melaporkan dampak pembelajaran online, seperti koneksi internet yang tidak memadai, sarana dan prasarana yang terbatas, serta biaya yang harus dikeluarkan untuk membeli data internet yang mahal. Penelitian ini menekankan pada pentingnya mengembangkan strategi pembelajaran dan memperhatikan orang-orang yang paling dekat dengan siswa agar proses pembelajaran berjalan dengan baik dan mengatasi kendala akibat pandemi COVID-19.Abstract: This study focused on how the strategies used by students of higher education who live in remote areas successfully survive to follow the lectures well. To do this research, we use qualitative method. One of the techniques used in the qualitative method is interview (guided-virtual interview). This interview is conducted to dig deeper through information relating to the learning strategies undertaken by the students (participants). This study reports the impacts of online learning, such as inadequate internet connections, limited facilities and infrastructures, and the costs that must be paid to buy an expensive internet data. This study emphasizes the importance of developing learning strategies and having the attention of those who are closest to the students so that the learning process runs well and overcome obstacles due to COVID-19 pandemic
An Analysis of Using Duolingo Application in Improving Students’ Vocabulary Mastery at 10th Grade of SMA YADIKA Bandar Lampung
Pratiwi, (2020) An Analysis of Using Duolingo in Improving Students’ Vocabulary Mastery of 10th Grade at SMA YADIKA Bandar Lampung SMA YADIKA Bandar Lampung is one of the many schools in Bandar Lampung, researchers found several problems during observation. Some students said that they liked learning English but they found it difficult to express their skills due to lack of vocabulary, and the learning techniques used were still difficult to apply with this phenomenon. Teachers should use a lot of media, but in reality, the teacher only focuses on textbooks and manuals, teachers must be able to make students more eager to learn English and not make students stress when learning English. In this study, researchers used qualitative methods, precisely descriptive qualitative. The purpose of this study was to obtain evidence about how to use the Duolingo application in students' vocabulary mastery. The data source of this research is a video documentation of the learning process. The text is taken from interviews with students and students' opinions by distributing a list of questions. The results showed that the use of Duolingo Application as a Media in mastering the vocabulary of tenth-grade students at SMA YADIKA Bandar Lampung, it can be concluded that Duolingo Application has had a positive influence, this can be seen from the increased motivation, and students' Vocabulary Mastery; and the Duolingo Application has strengths namely Learning Through Technology, Language Courses, Duolingo Application Content, and Free registration and then its weaknesses, there are disadvantages of the Duolingo Application namely the Internet, Translations, and Features. So, it can be concluded that the Duolingo Application directly has a positive effect on tenth graders at Bandar Lampung YADIKA High School in vocabulary mastery
The Importance of Expressing Politeness: English Education Student's Perspectives
This study focuses on how important it is to apply politeness in speaking with someone from the perspective of English Education students. To do this research, researchers used qualitative methods. One of the techniques that researchers use in this study is the non-interactive technique that is the questionnaire. This questionnaire was chosen to explore deeper information about the opinions of English Education Students at State Islamic University of North Sumatera Medan starting from the 2nd – 8th Semester (participants or respondents) on the importance of expressing politeness. Researchers chose the questionnaire technique in order to shorten the time and got more participants rather than had to conduct interviews. This study reports the choice of being polite for people is influenced by differences in power relations, such as notion of status, age, gender, and social distance. This study emphasizes that politeness is needed to be implemented since rudeness creates conflict between one to another person
The Impact of Specific Language Impairment (SLI) in 6-Year-Old Children
This study focuses on the discipline of psycholinguistics regarding language disorders
in children, to be precise of Specific Language Impairment (SLI). This article analyzes
two 6-year-old children who show the characteristics of having SLI in language
disorders during the COVID-19 pandemic. In order to carry out this study, the
researcher used a qualitative descriptive research method. The method aims to describe
in a systematic, actual, and accurate way. This research is an analytical study of official
documents such as books, articles, journals, and the internet. The accuracy of the data is
obtained from the observations of the researcher herself. This study reports that children
with SLI often stay until school age and can lead to a lack of academic ability and cause
various psychosocial problems. Some of the causes of SLI in children include genetic,
environmental, and social factors, pre and perinatal, gender, prematurity, weight, socio-
economic status, maternal mental status, mother's education, and vocabulary, andÂ

Pengaruh Pemberian Edukasi dengan Metode Syndicate Group terhadap Tingkat Pengetahuan Kader tentang Perawatan Bayi Baru Lahir di Desa Matang Tepah Kec. Bendahara
ABSTRACT According to the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2019, the survival of small and sick newborns is the most important item on the unfinished agenda to end preventable child deaths. The main causes that are prioritized are: prematurity, infection, birth complications, congenital abnormalities, jaundice. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of providing education using the syndicate group method on the level of knowledge of cadres about newborn care in Matang Tepah Village, Kec. District Treasurer Aceh Tamiang Year 2022. The research method is quantitative. The research design used was a pretrial study with a one group pretrial-posttrial approach. The population of this research is Cadres of 30 people in the village of Matang Tepah, with samples using saturated sampling which means that all populations are taken as samples. The data collection method used is primary data with research instruments using questionnaires. Data analysis is univariate and bivariate with chis-square test. The research results obtained a p-value of 0.003 <α (0.05). The conclusion in this study is that the provision of education before (pretest) and after (posttest) carried out using the syndicate group method for cadres has an influence on increasing the knowledge of cadres about newborn care. With the results of this study it is hoped that Matang Tepah Village will gain better knowledge about newborn care so that it can be applied in every patient. Keywords: Providing Education with the Syndicate Group Method, Knowledge, Newborn Baby Care  ABSTRAK Menurut Organisasi Kesehatan Dunia (WHO) pada tahun 2019, kelangsungan hidup bayi baru lahir kecil dan sakit adalah hal terpenting dalam agenda yang belum selesai untuk mengakhiri kematian anak yang dapat dicegah. Penyebab utama yang diprioritaskan adalah: prematuritas, infeksi, komplikasi kelahiran, kelainan bawaan, penyakit kuning. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian edukasi dengan metode syndicate group terhadap tingkat pengetahuan kader tentang perawatan bayi baru lahir di Desa Matang Tepah Kec. Bendahara Kabupaten Aceh Tamiang Tahun 2022. Metode penelitian adalah kuantitatif. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian praperadilan dengan pendekatan one group pretrial-posttrial. Populasi penelitian ini adalah Kader di Desa Matang Tepah yang berjumlah 30 orang, dengan pengambilan sampel menggunakan sampling jenuh yang artinya semua populasi diambil sebagai sampel. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah data primer dengan instrumen penelitian menggunakan kuesioner. Analisis data dilakukan secara univariat dan bivariat dengan uji chis-square. Hasil penelitian diperoleh nilai p sebesar 0,003 < α (0,05). Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini adalah pemberian edukasi sebelum (pretest) dan sesudah (posttest) dilakukan dengan metode syndicate group pada kader berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan pengetahuan kader tentang perawatan bayi baru lahir. Dengan hasil penelitian ini diharapkan Desa Matang Tepah mendapatkan pengetahuan yang lebih baik tentang perawatan bayi baru lahir sehingga dapat diterapkan pada setiap pasien. Kata Kunci: Pemberian Edukasi Dengan Metode Sydicate Group, Pengetahuan Perawatan Bayi Baru Lahi
