Wigner islands with electrons over helium
We present here the first experimental study of Wigner islands formed by
electrons floating over helium. Electrons are trapped electrostatically in a
mesoscopic structure covered with a helium film, behaving as a quantum dot. By
removing electrons one by one, we are able to find the addition spectrum, i.e.
the energy required to add (or extract) one electron from the trap with
occupation number . Experimental addition spectra are compared with Monte
Carlo simulations for the actual trap geometry, confirming the ordered state of

This study examined some transformations in the religious practices of both Muslim labor migrants and Russian indigenous Muslims in the situation of large flow migration from Central Asia to Russia. The results demonstrate that these transformations take place in both directions by bringing some Central Asian practices into the life of Russian Muslims and vice versa. The authors also pay special attention to the formation of solidarity between and inside these two quasi-communities. They conclude that social solidarity on the basis of common religion is formed inside migrant communities despite ethnic differences rather than between autochthonous Muslims and migrants

Stable Spin Precession at one Half of Equilibrium Magnetization in Superfluid 3He-B
New stable modes of spin precession have been observed in superfluid 3He-B.
These dynamical order parameter states include precession with a magnetization
S=pS_{eq} which is different from the equilibrium value S_{eq}. We have
identified modes with p=1, 1/2 and \approx 0. The p=1/2 mode is the second
member of phase correlated states of a spin superfluid. The new states can be
excited in the temperature range 1-T/T_c \lesssim 0.02 where the energy
barriers between the different local minima of the spin-orbit energy are small.
