    Stepwise Filtering of the Internal Layers of Dendrimers by Transverse-Relaxation-Edited NMR

    The characteristic distribution of transverse relaxation times (T2) within dendrimers (shorter values at the core than the periphery) can be exploited in T2-edited 1D and 2D NMR experiments for the stepwise filtering of internal nuclei according to their topology within the dendritic structure. The resulting filtered spectra, which can be conceived as corresponding to virtual hollow dendrimers, benefit from reduced signal overlap, thus facilitating signal assignment and characterization.     Predicting PSR Filters by Transverse Relaxation Enhancements

    The paramagnetic spin relaxation (PSR) filter allows the suppression of the NMR resonances of individual components in mixtures according to their Gd3+-complexing ability. The difficulty in predicting this property hampers, however, the widespread application of this filter. Herein we describe that the PSR filter is dominated by the transverse relaxation enhancement (R2p) experienced by nuclei in the presence of Gd3+, so that R2p represents a reliable predictive tool of suppression in the 1D and 2D PSR filter of complex mixtures.     This work presents the modeling of the monthly volume of transactions of the Ethereum cryptocurrency through the Box-Jenkins methodology, involving the steps: exploratory analysis, identification, guarantee and validation, some of which performed using different techniques. The model found by the SARIMA modeling (Integrated autoregressive model of seasonal moving averages) was able to demonstrate the linear behavior of the data in a satisfactory way, but it was not enough to describe the behavior of the series, composed of linear and non-linear movement, being better represented by a hybrid model.Esse trabalho apresenta a modelagem do volume mensal de transações da criptmoeda Ethereum por meio da metodologia de Box-Jenkins, envolvendo as etapas: análise exploratória, identificação, estimação e validação, algumas das quais executadas com a utilização de diferentes técnicas.     Motor Programs as Indicators of Penalty Direction in Soccer

    Introduction: Many football games are decided on penalties and usually in championship final games. When seeking to anticipate movements, differences in amplitude can harm players because the informational movement appears to be spread "globally" throughout the action and should be coded at several levels. Thus, it would be interesting to analyze the entire period of the kick, since the player begins his run to approach the ball to recognize the motor patterns used in the kick that identify his direction. Objective: The objective of this study is to identify patterns of behavior in penalty kicks that may indicate the direction of their action / kick and in my moment they appear. Methodology: The sample consisted of 21 subjects hitting a penalty kick, 18 males and 3 females with an average age of 22.18 ± 2.44 years and two goalkeepers with college football experience. The tests consisted of a battery of two penalty kicks for each subject in order to score. The kicks were recorded by a video camera with a front view of the goal goal and the back of the batter. The kick phases were divided into the starting leg position; first step leg; angle of the elbow in relation to the body seen from behind; angle of the elbow in relation to the displacement line seen from above; direction of the tip of the supporting foot and position on the goal where the kick was. Each kick was preceded by a start signal. The data were analyzed from the registration of each variable and the position of the goal in which the ball was kicked, considering it in three sectors: left, right and central. Results: The main results indicated that the variable “Leg of the first step” had 81% of the kicks associated with the direction of the goal; 52.4% of second kicks had repeated the pattern of behavior and 84.6% had repeated the pattern of behavior regardless of the goal position. The variable “Elbow angle in relation to the body seen from behind” had 81.8% repeated behavior pattern regardless of the goal position and the variable “Elbow angle in relation to the displacement line seen from above” had 81% association with the sector of the goal in which the ball was kicked; 52.4% of second kicks had repeated the pattern of behavior and 91.7% had repeated the pattern of behavior regardless of the goal position. Conclusions: The main conclusions indicate that it is possible to relate the kick location with the batter\u27s body information; the start of the race seems to indicate that there is a prior intention of movement programs; the decision of where to hit the penalty appears to be made before contact with the ball and more closely to the placement of the support foot and with this relationship, the size of the goal to be defended by the goalkeeper could be reduced, increasing the possibility of defense

    Dynamics of Lymphocyte Populations during Trypanosoma cruzi Infection: From Thymocyte Depletion to Differential Cell Expansion/Contraction in Peripheral Lymphoid Organs

    The comprehension of the immune responses in infectious diseases is crucial for developing novel therapeutic strategies. Here, we review current findings on the dynamics of lymphocyte subpopulations following experimental acute infection by Trypanosoma cruzi, the causative agent of Chagas disease. In the thymus, although the negative selection process of the T-cell repertoire remains operational, there is a massive thymocyte depletion and abnormal release of immature CD4+CD8+ cells to peripheral lymphoid organs, where they acquire an activated phenotype similar to activated effector or memory T cells. These cells apparently bypassed the negative selection process, and some of them are potentially autoimmune. In infected animals, an atrophy of mesenteric lymph nodes is also observed, in contrast with the lymphocyte expansion in spleen and subcutaneous lymph nodes, illustrating a complex and organ specific dynamics of lymphocyte subpopulations. Accordingly, T- and B-cell activation is seen in subcutaneous lymph nodes and spleen, but not in mesenteric lymph nodes. Lastly, although the function of peripheral CD4+CD8+ T-cell population remains to be defined in vivo, their presence may contribute to the immunopathological events found in both murine and human Chagas disease
