Safety education in the face of threats to human security

The article provides information on relationships and dependencies between education and human security. The author tries to combine these two areas (levels) of meaning into one whole, giving them a uniform form of definition – the concept of safety education. This concept includes elements such as values, attitudes, human awareness, counteracting threats, a sense of security or institutionalism. The content of the article consists of two main parts: determinants of the safety education process and the essential social and cultural threats to human existence. Much attention has been devoted to the risks to personal security. The main idea of the article proves that personal (human) safety together with a sense of peace and stagnation as well as structural safety have a fundamental impact on the sense of security of individuals

Education for security serves to prepare citizens for appropriate behaviour and appropriate reactions in situations posing a threat to their health and life. At every step, we deal with many different threats that occur in all areas of human life. The main areas include social, public, professional, and educational sphere. The aim of the article is to present the role and significance of education for security in the context of the catalogue of threats to a person functioning in various areas of their life. The article focuses on selected areas relating to man’s safety in the psychological and pedagogical educational concepts. The psychological and pedagogical concepts outlined in the article are complementary and by stimulating one another they open paths for further research. Each of them refers to many aspects and educational situations. Each of them contains the most important issues connected with the shaping of the individual feeling of safety as well as the shaping of personality. These concepts present many factors which threaten man’s feeling of safety. Kształtowanie poczucia bezpieczeństwa w opiniach i poglądach młodzieży szkolnej

The subject of the research issues in this article is focuses on the shaping the feeling of safety among the school students, especially describing the attitudes of teenagers towards the problem of country’s defences and expressing the appropriate conclusions and proposals. The main problem is formed in the following question: In what way do school teenagers notice and estimate the issue of the defence and what factors are responsible for that? The poll researches were leaded among the pupils from the four second classes, including 114 students. Preparing and carrying out the researches took place from January to April in 2008. The shaping the feeling of safety among the school students were determined by the following factors: the relation of the examined students towards the chosen country’s defence problems, the danger to national defence, participations in the stabilization and peace mission

The feeling of security in many environments and social groups diminishes due to development of social and civilization threats. Treść artykułu wskazuje na istotny obszar kształcenia, dotyczy bowiem cyberprzestrzeni i dydaktyki cyfrowej w edukacji na rzecz bezpieczeństwa człowieka. We live in a world of great opportunities, but also of boundless demands. It is generally agreed that the 21st century would be a century of culture. Globalization of culture is an important element of social globalization. This process should be understood as a formation of various relationships and dependencies between societies and their cultures. Globalization of culture entails a change in values and norms, a disturbance of social memory, and shallow culture. Presently culture has become a consumer culture, and it is created by the world of media and the Internet. The article is an important voice in a wider discussion on the impact of cultural globalism on human security. The author is convinced that cultural globalism to the greatest extent affects human personality and social hazards.
