    El español en contacto con otras lenguas peninsulares : los corpus diacrónicos de Galicia, Navarra y Mallorca

    Este artículo se centra en los problemas que plantea el estudio histórico de las variedades del español en las zonas bilingües de la península ibérica, un aspecto que tiende a obviarse en la bibliografía especializada. Para ello se presenta un estado de la cuestión de la diacronía del español de tres zonas -Galicia, Navarra y Mallorca- en donde se ha venido dando el contacto con gallego, vasco y catalán, respectivamente. Para cada una de estas zonas se refiere el contexto sociohistórico del contacto, los principales estudios disponibles y los proyectos de corpus documentales, incipientes o ya en proceso. El amplio número de fenómenos de interés teórico que se da en estas variedades justifica la necesidad de continuar desarrollando materiales para su estudio; en este sentido se apuntan algunas propuestas de futuro que permitirán avanzar en estas líneas de trabajo.This article focuses on a number of issues related to the historical study of the Spanish varieties spoken in the bilingual areas of the Iberian Peninsula. This is an aspect that tends to be overlooked in the relevant literature. The article offers a state of the art for the diachronic study of Spanish in three areas -Galicia, Navarra and Mallorca- where contact with Galician, Basque and Catalan, respectively, takes place. For each one of these areas, the socio-historical context of the contact, the main available studies and the available corpora, whether already developed or in progress, are presented. The large number of phenomena of theoretical interest that occur in these varieties justifies the need to continue developing materials for their study; in this vein, some proposals for future directions are pointed out

    The interstellar medium and the massive stellar content towards the SNR G18.1-0.1 and neighbouring H II regions

    We perform a multiwavelength study of the SNR G18.1-0.1 and nearby several H II regions (infrared dust bubbles N21 and N22, and the H II regions G018.149-00.283 and G18.197-00.181). Our goal is to provide observational evidence supporting the view that massive stars are usually born in clusters from the same molecular cloud, which then produce, along their evolution, different neighbouring objects such as H II regions, interstellar bubbles and supernova remnants (SNRs). We suggest that the objects analysed in this work belong to a same complex located at the distance of about 4 kpc. Using molecular data we inspected the interstellar medium towards this complex and from optical and X-ray observations we looked for OB-type stars in the region. Analysing public 13 CO J = 1-0 data we found several molecular structures very likely related to the H II region/SNR complex. We suggest that the molecular gas is very likely being swept and shaped by the expansion of the H II regions. From spectroscopic optical observations obtained with the 2.15-m telescope at CASLEO, Argentina, we discovered three O-type stars very likely exciting the bubbles N21 and N22, and an uncatalogued H II region northwards of bubble N22, respectively. Also we found four B0-5 stars, one towards the bubble N22 and the others within the H II region G18.149-0.283. By inspecting the Chandra Source Catalogue we found two-point X-ray sources and suggest that one of them is an early O-type star. Finally, we inspected the large-scale interstellar medium around this region. We discovered a big molecular shell of about 70 × 28 pc in which the analysed complex appears to be located in its southern border.Fil: Paron, Sergio Ariel.     Outbreak of a Cluster with Epidemic Behavior due to Serratia marcescens after colistin administration in a hospital setting

    Serratia marcescens causes health care-associated infections with important morbidity and mortality. Particularly, outbreaks produced by multidrug-resistant isolates of this species, which is already naturally resistant to several antibiotics, including colistin, are usually described with high rates of fatal outcomes throughout the world. Thus, it is important to survey factors associated with increasing frequency and/or emergence of multidrug-resistant S. marcescens nosocomial infections. We report the investigation and control of an outbreak with 40% mortality due to multidrug-resistant S. marcescens infections that happened from November 2007 to April 2008 after treatment with colistin for Acinetobacter baumannii meningitis was started at hospital H1 in 2005. Since that year, the epidemiological pattern of frequently recovered species has changed, with an increase of S. marcescens and Proteus mirabilis infections in 2006 in concordance with a significant decrease of the numbers of P. aeruginosa and A. baumannii isolates. A single pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) cluster of S. marcescens isolates was identified during the outbreak. When this cluster was compared with S. marcescens strains (n = 21) from 10 other hospitals (1997 to 2010), it was also identified in both sporadic and outbreak isolates circulating in 4 hospitals in Argentina. In132::ISCR1::blaCTX-M-2 was associated with the multidrug-resistant cluster with epidemic behavior when isolated from outbreaks. Standard infection control interventions interrupted transmission of this cluster even when treatment with colistin continued in several wards of hospital H1 until now. Optimizing use of colistin should be achieved simultaneously with improved infection control to prevent the emergence of species naturally resistant to colistin, such as S. marcescens and P. mirabilis.Fil: Merkier, Andrea Karina.     AGN candidates in the VVV near-IR galaxy catalogue

This is the accepted manuscript version of an article which has been published in final form at https://doi.org/10.1093/mnras/stad490The goal of this work is to search for Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN) in the Galactic disc at very low latitudes with |b|< 2°. For this, we studied the five sources from the VVV near-infrared (IR) galaxy catalogue that have also WISE counterparts and present variability in the VIrac VAriable Classification Ensemble (VIVACE) catalogue. In the near-IR colour-colour diagrams, these objects have in general redder colours compared to the rest of the sources in the field. In the mid-IR ones, they are located in the AGN region, however, there is a source that presents the highest interstellar extinction and different mid-IR colours to be a young stellar object (YSO). We also studied the source variability using two different statistical methods. The fractional variability amplitude σrms ranges from 12.6 to 33.8, being in concordance with previous results found for type-1 AGNs. The slopes of the light curves are in the range (2.6 - 4.7) × 10-4 mag d-1, also in agreement with results reported on quasars variability. The combination of all these results suggest that four galaxies are type-1 AGN candidates, whereas the fifth source likely a YSO candidate.Peer reviewe
