Exploring the long-term impact of COVID-19: incidence and factors associated with insomnia in recovered patients
Background: COVID-19's recognition as a multi-organ disease with diverse manifestations extends beyond acute illness into post-recovery phases. Post-COVID-19 infection, individuals often endure a spectrum of psychiatric symptoms, notably including persistent insomnia. This study aimed to investigate insomnia's correlation with age, gender, comorbidity, infection severity, and biomarkers during hospitalization.
Methods: This study employed a prospective design to explore the correlation between insomnia and various factors in COVID-19 survivors. Data were collected over a one-year period, with an emphasis on age, gender, comorbidity, infection severity, and biomarkers.
Results: The incidence of insomnia among patients was approximately 7%. Notably, no significant statistical correlation emerged between insomnia and COVID-19 infection severity. Furthermore, insomnia prevalence remained unaffected by demographic factors such as gender, age, or comorbidity.
Conclusions: The lasting impact of COVID-19 on mental health, particularly in terms of persistent insomnia, underscores the necessity for targeted interventions. Identifying factors contributing to insomnia among survivors holds paramount importance for developing effective management strategies that bolster overall well-being and quality of life. Recognizing and addressing insomnia as a significant long-term consequence of COVID-19 becomes imperative, as implementing appropriate interventions and support services can mitigate detrimental effects on mental and physical health. Ultimately, this contributes to improved outcomes and an enhanced quality of life for survivors

The Effect of Principals’ Instructional Leadership on the 21st Century Teaching Competencies as Perceived by Teachers in New Generation Schools in Cambodia.
Master of Education (Educational Administration), 2023This aims of this study were to 1) study the level of principals’ instructional leadership of New Generation Schools, 2) study the level of teachers’ 21st century teaching competencies in New Generation Schools, and 3) examine the effect of principals’ instructional leadership on teachers’ 21st century teaching competencies in New Generation Schools. This study employed a quantitative research design with a survey technique. The questionnaires were designed in 5-points Likert scale. The research informants consisted of 223 teachers of New Generation Schools in Cambodia and were selected by using proportional stratified random sampling method. Descriptive statistical analysis showed that the level of principals’ instructional leadership of New Generation Schools is high and the level of teachers’ 21st century teaching competencies in New Generation Schools is also high. Furthermore, the multiple regression analysis showed that the principals’ instructional leadership contributed a positive significant impact on teachers’ 21st century teaching competencies in New Generation Schools (R2 = .677, p = .000). The finding also revealed that the three components, including Managing Curriculum and Instruction, Driving Data to Make Instructional Decision and Sharing Leadership are the best predictors respectively. Thus, this study suggests that school principals should focus their instructional leadership practices on managing curriculum and instruction, driving data to make instructional decision and sharing leadership with their teachers, which subsequently improve and enhance the 21st century teaching competencies of teachers
Buller and Heaphy : a social interpretation of two archaic West Coast settlements
This thesis investigates the material culture assemblage and spatial patterning of two Archaic sites on the West Coast of the South Island - Buller River Mouth (K29/8) and Heaphy River Mouth (L26/1). Two key themes are explored in this thesis. The first theme argues that New Zealand archaeology can benefit from ideas and discussions from social anthropology. The second theme investigates the concept of space in both archaeology and social anthropology, and uses this as a medium to explore how links can be made between the two sub-disciplines.
The analysis of material culture showed that Buller and Heaphy are both artefactualy representative of the Archaic Phase of New Zealand prehistory. Both have a large and varied artefact assemblage containing adzes, flakes, blades, hammer stones, minnow lures, drill points and other artefact types.
The intra-site spatial analysis demonstrated areas of concentrated fire features, cooking areas, pavement areas, possible domestic buildings, stone working activity areas, adze caches, areas of oven rake out, specialized stone material manufacturing floors. With three exceptions, both Buller and Heaphy share features and activity areas that were common with each other.
This thesis argues that New Zealand archaeology can benefit by using ideas from social anthropology, and demonstrates how this can be done by interpreting the artefactual and spatial results in light of some ideas from social anthropology. The interpretation focused on three key ideas: 1) The social construction of space, 2) Ian Hodder's concept of Domus, Agrios and Faris and 3) Levi-Strauss notions of societes à maison or house societies. The resulting discussion illustrates how a rich series of overlaying contextual interpretations can be an effective approach to understanding and interpreting New Zealand archaeology
Abundance of natural fish seed resources prioritized for mariculture in the Kali estuary
Mariculture is a promising fish producing industry
in India with cage farming of marine finfish and
shellfish becoming popular along the entire coast.
Fish seed availability is the need of the hour for
sustaining and supporting expansion of cage farming
of fishes in India. Capture Based Aquaculture (CBA),
can be considered as an economic activity for
fishermen communities to practise where by
accessing natural fish seed resources for culture, it
enhances the fish production, yield and market

Standardization of culture aspects of Apocyclops cmfri sp. nov. a native cyclopoid copepod
Copepods are considered as ideal larval feed,
due to their smaller size (<100μm), high protein and
favourable fatty acid profiles. There are three types
of copepods viz., harpacticoid, calanoid and
cyclopoid, which can be cultured on a large scale
under controlled conditions as live feed for the
initial stages of fish and shellfish larvae. Karwar
Research Centre of ICAR- CMFRI made a significant
contribution in standardizing the protocols for the
culture of a new cyclopoid copepod
