The integrated science learning using webbed model was done in this research to increase students' science literacy in a learning theme of “Why Can My Body Feel Temperature Changes?”. The research was conducted using a quasi experiment method with non-randomized subject pretest posttest control group design. The subjects were students of grade VII from one of junior high school at Cirebon District, West Java, Indonesia, and were divided into two classes, namely, experiment and control class. While the students of experiment class was taught with the integrated science learning approach, students of the control class was taught without using the approach. The instruments were written test, observation sheet, questionnaire, and interview protocol. Data showed that on avereage there was an increase of science literacy skills of students who were taught with an integrated approach. A significant increase has been showed in both of content and process aspects. The integrated science learning approach showed to be able to build positive attitudes among students

: Integrated Problem Solving Based Learning Model on Foundation of Analytical Chemistry. This study was conducted to know the effects of Integrated Problem Solving Based Learning (IPSBL) model on problem solving skills and cognitive ability of pre-service teachers. The subjects of the study were 41 pre- service teachers, 21 in the experimental group and 20 in the control group. The data were collected through a test on problem solving skills, a test on cognitive ability, and a questionnaire on the students'opinions on the use of IPSBL model. The quantitative data were analyzed using t-test and one-way ANOVA, and the qualitative data were analyzed by counting the percentage. The results of the study show that the implementation of IPSBL model increased the problem solving skills and cognitive ability of the pre-service teachers . The model was also responded positively by the research subjects

This study aims to determine the effect of guided inquiry learning for students' scientific literacy skills. The research was conducted at SMAN 24 Kabupaten Tangerang along January-June 2013. The method used was quasi-experimental, research subjects in this study were 77 students, divided into 2 groups: the experimental group and the control group. Research design in this study was the nonequivalent control group design. The instrument used was the science literacy test and observation sheet used. The research shows that students' science literacy for experimental group (mean = 54.49 and standard deviation = 18.67) was lower than the control group (mean = 57.63 and standard deviation of 14.37). After Mann-Whitney test (at the 95% significance level) α values obtained for 0.293 > 0.05. It can be concluded there is no significant difference between the average science literacy experimental group and control group students

: Quantitative analysis subjects requires knowledge and problem solving skills of pre-service chemistry teachers. The aims of this study was to develop and to analyze problem solving skills in quantitative analysis of preservice teachers through Problem Solving Based Lecture with Group Investigation (PSBL-GI). The study was quasy experiment conducted to pre-service teachers of year 2010 in semester three of Chemistry Education programs in one of LPTK in Central Sulawesi that is one experiment class (PBPS-IK) and one control class (concept and practice approach). Data were then collected on using a test problem solving skills with a reliability coefficient of 0.84. The collected data were analyzed qualitatively and tested the difference between N-gain of problem solving PSBL-GI class with control class at level of significance is 5%. The results showed PSBL-GI can develop pre-service teachers\u27 problem solving skill with categories medium (0,56).The ability to solve problem of pre-service teacher of PSBL-GI class have is greater than the control class. Problem solving skill of high group is better than medium and low groups. The highest N-gain of indicator of problem solving skill is representation (0.82) and the lowest is identification (0,28) while the highest sub subject of quantitative analysis is neutralization titration (0,67) and the lowest is complexometry titration (0,34)
