Generational knowledge and learning in the productive practices of traditional coastal communities, Brazilian Amazon

The present study took place in traditional coastal communities located around and within the Marine Extractive Reserves (RESEX-Mar) of Tracuateua and Araí-Peroba, Northeast of Pará, Brazilian Amazon, in the period between 2019 and 2020, involving thirty families, whose self-sustaining activities depend on family farming, artisanal fishing and crab fishing. The aimed objectives were to investigate the generational knowledges and how descendants learn about them, considering the environmental productive practices of such traditional communities, as well as to reflect on the ways the transmission processes occur to the following generations. The employed method involved a qualitative approach, with field observation and interview techniques. In data collection, the following instruments were used: a script with semi-structured questions to conduct the interviews and field notes taken during observation periods. Data analysis was based on the organization, tabulation and treatment of the linguistic terms collected from the interviews with the support of graphics generated by the IRAMUTEQ Software. Subsequently, content analysis was applied. The results showed there are riches constituted from the existing traditional knowledge, mainly in family farming and artisanal fishing (fish and crab), which are taught and transmitted by families to new generations. New forecasting methods for hotel revenue management systems

An accurate forecasting module is a key element of any revenue management system. This module includes demand forecasting, which involves tasks of forecasting complex seasonal time series. The challenge of producing accurate demand forecasts requires the application of suitable forecasting methods to address that complexity. The aim of this paper is to evaluate a new innovation state space modeling framework, based on innovations approach, developed for forecasting time series with complex seasonal patterns. Superposition relations of microfabrics in the northern hanging-wall block

This study reports alternation of D2 extension-related and D3 contraction-related microfabrics in the northern hanging wall block of a gneiss dome-like structure recognized in the Évora Massif (Ossa-Morena Zone). In the Arraiolos – Santo Antonio de Alcorrego traverse high- to low-grade mylonites are dominant. Microfabrics related to D2 ductile deformation and M2 high-amphibolite to greenschist facies characterize an extensional shear zone with telescoping metamorphic isograds. D2 microstructures indicate shear sense with top-to-SE. Superposition of D3 contraction developed under greenschist facies (M3) producing folding of D2 microfabrics, mylonitization of granites along strike-slip shear zones and retrogression of M2 mineral assemblages

Can the distributional impacts of macroeconomic shocks be predicted? A comparison of the performance of macro-micro models with historical data for Brazil

What was the impact of Brazil's 1998-99 currency crisis-which resulted in a change of exchange rate regime and a large real devaluation-on the occupational structure of the labor force and the distribution of incomes? Would it have been possible to predict such effects ahead of the crisis? The authors present an integrated macro-micro model of the Brazilian economy in 1998. The model consists of an applied general equilibrium macroeconometric component, connected through a set of linkage aggregate variables to a microeconomic model of household incomes. The authors use this framework to predict the employment and distributional consequences of the 1999 Brazilian currency crisis, based on 1998 household survey data. They then test the predictive performance of the model by comparing its simulated results with the actual household survey data observed in 1999. In addition to the fully integrated macro-micro model, the authors also test the performances of the microeconometric model on its own, and of a"representative household groups"approach. They find that the integrated macro-micro econometric model, while still inaccurate on many dimensions, can actually predict the broad pattern of the incidence of changes in household incomes across the distribution reasonably well, and much better than the alternative approaches. Eyes in the sky: multi-drones surveillance technology

Neste projeto pretende-se desenvolver uma rede de segurança baseada no trabalho cooperativo entre vários UAVs. Sabendo que os UAVs podem variar na sua autonomia, velocidade de voo, estabilidade e muitos outros fatores, será feito um estudo onde tentaremos potenciar as melhores características para a rede de segurança a desenvolver. Em simultâneo com este estudo serão aplicados algoritmos de controlo de distribuição aos vários agentes para que a cobertura da área seja máxima. O resultado final esperado deste projeto é conseguir criar um miniprograma capaz de comunicar com vários agentes de patrulha, receber as suas localizações, calcular as suas posições ideais ou, no caso de não conseguirem cobrir por completo a área, calcular uma rota de patrulha e, enviar as informações calculadas. Esperamos também que este programa possa ser usado em simulação e se possível no terreno.In this project, we will develop a security network based on the cooperation between several UAVs. Knowing that UAV's autonomy, speed, stability and many other factors, a study will be made where we will leverage the best characteristics for our goals. Simultaneously, we will design and apply a coverage algorithm to control the distribution of the agents in the area to maximize their coverage. As result of this project we wish to have a mini-program capable of communicate with several agents, read their locations, calculate their optimal positions or patrolling routes, if they can't cover all the area with their sensor range, and send them the information needed. We also want this program to be at least simulated and if possible on the field

Reflexões acerca da atuação profissional do pedagogo no programa Saúde na Escola

This course conclusion work has as object of analysis the professional performance of the pedagogue in the School Health Program (PSE). In order to trace a path for the construction of the study, the following research problem was formulated: how is the pedagogue's work configured in the PSE? Is there a recognition of the possibilities of the pedagogue's performance outside the school? As a general objective of the research it was proposed: to identify how the pedagogue is asked to contribute within he scope of health policies, considering specifically the case of the PSE. As specific objectives were proposed: to discuss the elements that characterize the pedagogical work and the performance of the educator outside the school environment; identify the possibilities of interface between health and education, considering the role of the pedagogue; to know how the pedagogue works with the PSE, taking the city of Miracema do Tocantins, TO as a reference for study. The study, of a qualitative nature, sought, by means of a survey of specific bibliography, to trace a path that contemplates the formative dimension of the work, to then characterize the pedagogical work as a specificity of the pedagogue's performance. From then on, the relevance of the intersection between health and education for conscious human formation was discussed, based on knowledge and the construction of subjects' co-responsibility for their life and the construction of the society they desire, using Freire (1967; 1987; 1991). The data collected through conversations and the application of a questionnaire with the PSE team in the municipality of Miracema do Tocantins indicates that there is no pedagogue present in the execution of the program. In addition, the lack of planning more focused on pedagogical issues meant that the execution of the PSE was restricted to information and disease prophylaxis, approaching the approaches seen in preventive campaigns carried out by the health departments. The data and reflections signal, finally, that the proposition of an effective training in health would require the presence and planning action of a pedagogue and that the importance of his performance in different positions of the classroom, in the condition of class leader, demands greater conversations and confrontations.Este trabalho de conclusão de curso tem como objeto de análise a atuação profissional do pedagogo junto ao Programa Saúde da Escola (PSE). Visando traçar um caminho para a construção do estudo, foi formulado o seguinte problema de pesquisa: como se configura o trabalho do pedagogo no PSE? Há um reconhecimento das possibilidades de atuação do pedagogo fora do âmbito escolar? Como objetivo geral da pesquisa foi proposto: identificar como o pedagogo é solicitado a contribuir no âmbito das políticas de saúde, considerando especificamente o caso do PSE. Como objetivos específicos foram propostos: discutir os elementos que caracterizam o trabalho pedagógico e a atuação do pedagogo fora do ambiente escolar; identificar as possibilidades de interface entre saúde e educação, considerando a atuação do pedagogo; conhecer como se realiza a atuação do pedagogo junto ao PSE, tendo como referência para estudo o município de Miracema do Tocantins, TO. O estudo, de natureza qualitativa, buscou, por meio de levantamento de bibliografia específica traçar um percurso que contempla a dimensão formativa do trabalho, para então caracterizar o trabalho pedagógico como especificidade da atuação do pedagogo. A partir de então foi discutida a relevância da interseção entre saúde e educação para a formação humana consciente, pautada no conhecimento e na construção da coresponsabilização dos sujeitos por sua vida e pela construção da sociedade que desejam, recorrendo a Freire (1967; 1987; 1991). Os dados coletados por meio de conversas e da aplicação de um questionário junto a equipe do PSE no município de Miracema do Tocantins sinaliza que não há a presença de um pedagogo na execução do programa. Ademais, a inexistência de um planejamento mais voltado às questões pedagógicas fez com que a execução do PSE ficasse restrita a informações e profilaxia de doenças, aproximando-se das abordagens vistas em campanhas preventivas realizadas pelas secretarias de saúde. Os dados e reflexões sinalizam, por fim, que a proposição de uma efetiva formação em saúde demandaria a presença e a ação de planejamento de um pedagogo e que a importância de sua atuação em posições distintas da sala de aula, na condição de regente de salas, demanda maiores conversas e enfrentamentos
