Link Travel Time Estimation in Double-Queue-Based Traffic Models
Double queue concept has gained its popularity in dynamic user equilibrium (DUE) modeling because it can properly model real traffic dynamics. While directly solving such double-queue-based DUE problems is extremely challenging, an approximation scheme called first-order approximation was proposed to simplify the link travel time estimation of DUE problems in a recent study without evaluating its properties and performance. This paper focuses on directly investigating the First-In-First-Out property and the performance of the first-order approximation in link travel time estimation by designing and modeling dynamic network loading (DNL) on single-line stretch networks. After model formulation, we analyze the First-In-First-Out (FIFO) property of the first-order approximation. Then a series of numerical experiments is conducted to demonstrate the FIFO property of the first-order approximation, and to compare its performance with those using the second-order approximation, a point queue model, and the cumulative inflow and exit flow curves. The numerical results show that the first-order approximation does not guarantee FIFO and also suggest that the second-order approximation is recommended especially when the link exit flow is increasing. The study provides guidance for further study on proposing new methods to better estimate link travel times
Structural nonlinear vibration reliability analysis based on improved ant colony algorithm
To improve the efficiency of the structural nonlinear vibration reliability optimization, the solution of the structural reliability index is converted into the corresponding unconstrained optimization problem by combining with the penalty function method through the analysis of the geometric meaning. And a novel ant colony algorithm is employed to solve the optimization problem. The introduction of ants transfer strategy makes the algorithm expand the search range in the early phase, and improve the convergence rate in the late which can overcome the defects of precocity and stagnation. Finally, the improved ant colony algorithm was used to find the shortest failure paths of the structure. Engineering practice and comparison with other algorithms demonstrate the strong applicability and validity of the method
Short-Video Marketing in E-commerce: Analyzing and Predicting Consumer Response
This study analyzes and predicts consumer viewing response to e-commerce short-videos (ESVs). We first construct a large-scale ESV dataset that contains 23,001 ESVs across 40 product categories. The dataset consists of the consumer response label in terms of average viewing durations and human-annotated ESV content attributes. Using the constructed dataset and mixed-effects model, we find that product description, product demonstration, pleasure, and aesthetics are four key determinants of ESV viewing duration. Furthermore, we design a content-based multimodal-multitask framework to predict consumer viewing response to ESVs. We propose the information distillation module to extract the shared, special, and conflicted information from ESV multimodal features. Additionally, we employ a hierarchical multitask classification module to capture feature-level and label-level dependencies. We conduct extensive experiments to evaluate the prediction performance of our proposed framework. Taken together, our paper provides theoretical and methodological contributions to the IS and relevant literature
Branching laws for discrete Wallach points
We consider the (projective) representations of the group of holomorphic
automorphisms of a symmetric tube domain that are obtained by
analytic continuation of the holomorphic discrete series. For a representation
corresponding to a discrete point in the Wallach set, we find the decomposition
under restriction to the identity component of . Using Riesz
distributions, an explicit intertwining operator is constructed as an analytic
continuation of an integral operator. The density for the Plancherel measure
involves quotients of -functions and the -function for a symmetric
cone of smaller rank.Comment: 22 page
Synthesis and Characterization of One-Dimensional Porous (Zn,Cd)S/SiO 2
One-dimensional (1D) porous (Zn,Cd)S/SiO2 composite nanostructural materials were synthesized by thermal evaporation of ZnS and CdS mixture powder at 950°C. The nanomaterials were collected from silicon wafers which were coated with 10ânm thick gold and were set apart from the source about 10âcm away. The diameter of the as-prepared 1D porous composite nanostructures is in the range of 1â1.5âÎŒm and their lengths are up to tens to hundreds of micrometers. The photoluminescence spectra measured at different temperatures of the prepared nanostructures display a similar broadband signature, which can be fitted by Gaussian function into three emission peaks centered at 477, 536, and 588ânm and attributed to band edge emission, neutral oxygen vacancies, and antisymmetric stretching of SiâOâSi and nonstoichiometric SiOx (1<x<2), respectively
Improvement of hydrothermal stability of zeolitic imidazolate frameworks
The metal-organic framework ZIF-8, which undergoes hydrolysis under hydrothermal conditions, is endowed with high water-resistance after a shell-ligand-exchange-reaction. The stabilized ZIF-8 retains its structural characteristics with improved application performances in adsorption and membrane separation. © 2013 The Royal Society of Chemistry
Quantum Dense Coding Exploiting Bright EPR Beam
Highly efficient quantum dense coding for continuous variables has been
experimentally accomplished by means of exploiting bright EPR beam with
anticorrelation of amplitude quadratures and correlation of phase quadratures,
which is generated from a nondegenerate optical parametric amplifier operating
in the state of deamplification. Two bits of classical information are encoded
on two quadratures of a half of bright EPR beam at the sender Alice and
transmitted to the receiver Bob via one qubit of the shared quantum state after
encoding. The amplitude and phase signals are simultaneously decoded with the
other half of EPR beam by the direct measurement of the Bell-state at Bob. The
signal to noise ratios of the simultaneously measured amplitude and phase
signals are improved 5.4dB and 4.8dB with respect to that of the shot noise
limit respectively. A high degree of immunity to unauthorized eavesdropping of
the presented quantum communication scheme is experimentally demonstrated.Comment: 11 pages, 5 figure
ASXL1 interacts with the cohesin complex to maintain chromatid separation and gene expression for normal hematopoiesis
ASXL1 is frequently mutated in a spectrum of myeloid malignancies with poor prognosis. Loss of Asxl1 leads to myelodysplastic syndrome-like disease in mice; however, the underlying molecular mechanisms remain unclear. We report that ASXL1 interacts with the cohesin complex, which has been shown to guide sister chromatid segregation and regulate gene expression. Loss of Asxl1 impairs the cohesin function, as reflected by an impaired telophase chromatid disjunction in hematopoietic cells. Chromatin immunoprecipitation followed by DNA sequencing data revealed that ASXL1, RAD21, and SMC1A share 93% of genomic binding sites at promoter regions in Lin-cKit+ (LK) cells. We have shown that loss of Asxl1 reduces the genome binding of RAD21 and SMC1A and alters the expression of ASXL1/cohesin target genes in LK cells. Our study underscores the ASXL1-cohesin interaction as a novel means to maintain normal sister chromatid separation and regulate gene expression in hematopoietic cells
