Run Up of Surface and Internal Waves
The evolution of breaking waves propagating towards the shore and more
specifically the run-up phase over the swash-zone for surface as well as for
internal waves is considered. The study is based on a) laboratory run up
experiments for surface waves ; b) laboratory stratified flow experiments and
c) on field data describing the internal wave run up. The presentation is
focused on the breaking and energy transfer mechanisms common to surface and
internal waves in the swash-zone. The mathematical model taking into account
turbulent mixing and dispersion effects is discussed
Using temporary water to resupply fresh water (on example Kanaka SCC)
In boarding houses, located at the mouth of the Kanaka beam (SCC), the problem
of provision with fresh drinking water worsened. So far, the provision with drinking
water was carried out with water wells from the aquifer at a depth of up to 15 m from
the earth surface
Socially efficient entry barriers?
Stagnation of the Russian economy lends a new urgency to the question of whether reserves of competition incentives can be used to overcome the current negative economic tendencies. The lowering of entry barriers is traditionally considered a universal instrument of promoting competition. However, lower entry barriers can be mistakenly associated with bringing the market closer to the state of the so-called "perfect" competition. The authors aim to show that the absence of entry barriers does not improve competition in certain markets. On the contrary, it may result in a decrease in social welfare. This is particularly true of capital-intensive goods, for instance, large diameter pipes for gas pipelines. Lack of proper competition in such sectors of the market necessitates entry barriers, for they help to achieve a separating equilibrium at the market. Since there are costs associated with creating a separating equilibrium, it is necessary to assess both costs and benefits of the pooling and separating equilibria

The Concurrent Acceptability of a Postnatal Walking Group: A Qualitative Study Using the Theoretical Framework of Acceptability.
Walking groups are often enjoyed by postnatal women, but little is known about what makes them an acceptable activity to this group. This study aimed to investigate the acceptability of a postnatal walking group using the Theoretical Framework of Acceptability (TFA). Seventeen postnatal women took part in a walk-along interview during a walking group session. Semi-structured interviews were based on the TFA and findings were analysed deductively onto the seven TFA components. Overall, the walking group was found to be acceptable. Benefits included meeting other mothers and walking in an accessible and convenient location. Women understood the group aim of supporting new mothers and thought it achieved this aim. Most women reported that attending the group was little effort, although for some the timing did not fit well with their baby's schedule. Participants stated that meeting other mothers and being physically active aligned with their value system. In conclusion, the acceptability of the walking group was found to be multifaceted, of which enjoyment was one part. These findings can be used when advertising other walking groups or physical activities for the postnatal population
