The purpose of this paper is to assess whether the implementation of excellence approach in area of a total quality management (TQM) positively affects the financial performance of the Czech companies. This paper test whether the adoption of excellence model approach from European Foundation of Quality Management (EFQM) has the impact on companies in the monitored indicators of the level of excellence in the Czech Republic represented by the group of emerging countries. This study is based on information gathered through an extensive literature review using print media, research databases, and we employed the available reporting for awarded companies. We systemized the variables of business excellence with the higher impact on organizational performance. As an example was involved the Czech companies awarded in National Quality Award (NQA) in the area of excellence. The main findings of this study shows the positive relation in selected financial indicators after receiving NQA and implementation excellence approach. In terms of the Czech Republic, although the NQA system is in place, Czech companies are not so interested, even though they can get feedback and work on their approach within the set criteria of the EFQM model in NQA. Based on selected performance indicators, the positive development of the companies was demonstrated on performance achieved by the TQM-oriented award winning companies. Although the Czech Republic ranks among the most industrialized countries in Europe, it is not prepared for the coming of technological changes. For a country to take advantage of emerging technologies and the GDP growth and jobs they bring, it must be highly digitalized. Therefore, the chapter is intended to provide the Czech Republic Industry 4.0 approach with the latest issues to the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The chapter aims not only to point out possible directions of development, to define proposals for measures that can support the economy and industrial base, but also to help prepare the stakeholders from the public and private sector for technological change. This chapter is based on information gathered through extensive documents using print media and research databases of European Commission focused on digital economy and society, and we also employed the available Digital Transformation Scoreboard, Digital Transformation Monitor, Europe’s digital Progress Report, Digital Index of Roland Berger, and Czech strategic digital transformation documents to systematize a research agenda of Industry 4.0. The chapter is expected to help in reviewing national digital performance strategies, and an overview of the collected outputs may help other entities to the process digitizing a society efficiently

Tato práce se zabývá souhrnem informací současného stavu o získávání elektrické energie z mechanické energie. Dále porovnává jednotlivé konstrukční a fyzikální principy elektro-mechanické přeměny. Následně prezentuje návrh generátoru, který by mohl majitel nosit stále sebou, aniž by ho obtěžoval (např. generátor elektrické energie v botě) a napájel energeticky nenáročná zařízení.This work deals with complex information about state-of-the-art harvesting electric energy from mechanical energy. Particular constructional and physical principles of electromechanical conversion are shown. Further, it presents a proposal of generator, which the owner would be able to carry always without being troubled by it (e.g. generator electric energy in shoe) and which would feed energetically simple devices.

AbstractThe corporate social responsibility (CSR) movement has gathered great momentum over the past number of years is now regarded as being at its most prevalent. However, there has been a lack of attention to, and discussion of, CSR in Czech and in relation to education. The paper reports findings from a survey of CSR education (teaching and research) in the Czech Republic. It analyses the extent of CSR education, the different ways in which it is defined and the levels of teaching. The paper provides an account of the efforts that are being made to mainstream CSR teaching and of the teaching methods deployed. It considers drivers of CSR courses, particularly based on historical development and the anticipation of future success being dependent on more institutional drivers. Finally it considers main developments in CSR research both by business school faculty and students, tomorrow's researchers and the resources devoted to CSR research. The conclusion includes questions that detected further research directions

Bolest je běžným příznakem mnoha klinických syndromů a nemocí. Zejména léčba bolestí neuropatického původu představuje závažný medicínský problém, neboť dostupná analgesie je v řadě případů neúčinná, nebo má výrazné nežádoucí účinky. Vývoj nových analgetických postupů a úspěšná léčba bolesti proto vyžaduje podrobnou znalost mechanizmů vzniku akutních i chronických bolestivých stavů. Hlavní pozornost byla věnována studiu následujících otázek: (I.) Jakou úlohu mají TRPV1 (Transient Receptor Potential Vanilloid type 1) kanály, TLR4 (Toll-Like Receptor 4) a PI3K (fosfatidylinositol 3-kináza) v rozvoji neuropatické bolesti po podání chemoterapeutika paclitaxel (PAC) v akutním in vitro a subchronickém in vivo myším modelu PAC-indukované periferní neuropatie (PIPN)? (II.) Do jaké míry je ovlivněna míšní...Pain is a common symptom of many clinical syndromes and diseases. In particular, the treatment of neuropathic pain represents a serious public health issue because currently available analgesia is ineffective in many cases or it has adverse effects. Treatment of pain-related suffering requires knowledge of how pain signals are initially generated and subsequently transmitted by the nervous system. A nociceptive system plays a key role in this process of encoding and transmission of pain signals. Modulation of the nociceptive synaptic transmission in the spinal cord dorsal horn represents an important mechanism in the development and maintenance of different pathological pain states. This doctoral thesis has aimed to investigate and clarify some of the mechanisms involved in the modulation of the spinal nociceptive processing in different pain states. The main attention was paid to study the following issues: (I.) Which is the role of Transient Receptor Potential Vanilloid type 1 channels (TRPV1), Toll-Like Receptors 4 (TLR4), and phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K) in the development of neuropathic pain induced by paclitaxel (PAC) chemotherapy in acute in vitro, and subchronic in vivo murine model of PAC-induced peripheral neuropathy (PIPN)? (II.) How is affected spinal inhibitory synaptic control...Katedra fyziologieDepartment of PhysiologyFaculty of SciencePřírodovědecká fakult
