Renal cell carcinoma: An update for the practicing urologist
AbstractSystemic therapy for metastatic renal cell carcinoma (mRCC) has evolved drastically, with agents targeting vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and the mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) now representing a standard of care. The present paper is to review the current status of relevant clinical trials that were either recently completed or ongoing. (1) Though observation remains a standard of care following resection of localized disease, multiple trials are underway to assess VEGF- and mTOR-directed therapies in this setting. (2) While the preponderance of retrospective data favors cytoreductive nephrectomy in the context of targeted agents, prospective data to support this approach is still forthcoming. (3) The first-line management of mRCC may change substantially with multiple studies exploring vaccines, immune checkpoint inhibitors, and novel targeted agents currently underway. In general, prospective studies that will report within the next several years will be critical in defining the role of adjuvant therapy and cytoreductive nephrectomy. Over the same span of time, the current treatment paradigm for first-line therapy may evolve

Use of Arthropod Rarity for Area Prioritisation: Insights from the Azorean Islands
We investigated the conservation concern of Azorean forest fragments and the entire Terceira Island surface using arthropod species vulnerability as defined by the Kattan index, which is based on species rarity. Species rarity was evaluated according to geographical distribution (endemic vs. non endemic species), habitat specialization (distribution across biotopes) and population size (individuals collected in standardized samples). Geographical rarity was considered at ‘global’ scale (species endemic to the Azorean islands) and ‘regional’ scale (single island endemics)

Systemic therapy and COVID19: Immunotherapy and chemotherapy
As the novel severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 related pandemic - Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) has emerged, decision making in the context of cancer treatment has become more complex. The apprehension of using drugs that could adversely affect infected patients, the risk of not using life-saving treatments and the complexities related to the type of cancer itself, all must be taken into consideration before proceeding with treatment. Data from large registries such as COVID-19 and Cancer Consortium, Thoracic Cancers International COVID-19 Collaboration (TERAVOLT) and NCI COVID-19 in Cancer Patients Study will hopefully provide granularity on the outcomes of patients with cancer who are infected with COVID-19. As these efforts are underway, this review aims to shed light on the management of patients with genitourinary malignancies being treated with systemic therapies while infected with COVID-19

The HOLA COVID-19 Study: An International Effort to Determine How COVID-19 Has Impacted Oncology Practices in Latin America
Countries in Latin America and the Caribbean have become hotspots of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, exacerbating socioeconomic inequalities and overwhelming fragmented health systems. Studies from the United States and Europe have highlighted the disproportionate effects of COVID-19 on patients with cancer and the disruption it has caused on cancer care delivery. The HOLA COVID-19 Study aims to understand how cancer care in Latin American countries has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic
