Rovněž se věnuji rozsahu univerzální jurisdikce, tedy zločinům, u nichž se tento princip uplatní, univerzální jurisdikci jako předmětu mezinárodního smluvního práva či univerzální jurisdikci in absentia, kdy prostor dostane...The thesis deals with topic of universal jurisdiction with an emphasis on British House of Lords' decisions in case of former Chilean president Augusto Pinochet from years 1998 and 1999. Universal jurisdiction enables to prosecute crimes committed abroad by persons, who at time of such commission were neither the citizens of state in question nor the permanent residents of the state. It is expression of an idea, that it is common interest of the whole international community to prosecute the most serious crimes under international law, irrespective of any link to the prosecuting state, because such crimes relate to the whole international community and not only single state. The first chapter of the thesis deals with national criminal jurisdiction, whose comprehension is necessary for further understanding of universal jurisdiction. The universal jurisdiction is the main topic in the second chapter, in which I outline a brief history of the concept, mention application of the universal jurisdiction in case with Adolf Eichmann in Jerusalem, and try to find out where the importance of universal jurisdiction lies or what the main alleged disadvantages and risks are as well. My further concerns are the scope of universal jurisdiction, that is the crimes that are subjects to its application, universal...Department of Public International LawKatedra mezinárodního právaFaculty of LawPrávnická fakult

The thesis deals with the question, in which situation the International Criminal court would probably open an Investigation of such crimes by an international body is a delicate question mainly with regard to a great extend of intervention into a state sovereignty, which manifests itself also as jurisdictional sovereignty. The thesis focuses on the case of Kenyan post-election violence in years of 2007 and 2008 and the aim to suppress Libyan revolution of 2011. Besides, the work is based upon the theory of (liberal) institutionalism, which could hopefully be applied to the international-law case of investigation of the crimes committed outside an armed conflict. Within the framework of the thesis I try to reveal criteria determining whether the International Criminal court opens or not an investigation to a situation of human rights abuse. For the purpose I take into consideration world and local country status, character of the perpetrators, extend of the attacks, country's relation to the great powers, as well as readiness of the country to prosecute the perpetrators within the national jurisdiction. As conclusion I try t compare the findings from the part applying liberal institutionalism and from the case studies

The bachelor thesis deals with the problems of citizenship of the European Union and it focuses on its economical aspects. The first part summarises development of concept of the Union citizenship up to now and offers a brief description of particular rights that are covered in the concept of citizenship of the EU. The second part of the thesis concentrates on current issue of economical results arising from the Union citizenship for the citizens as well as for the member states and their social security systems. Chapter focusing on economical dimension of the citizenship rights is divided into two parts - the first one deals with the citizenship and financial benefits arising therefrom with a view to economically active persons in the EU, the second one with a view to persons who are economically inactive. A valuable and essential source primarily to the second part of the thesis is practice of the Court of Justice of the European Union, which forms and extends the Union citizenship. The bachelor thesis concludes that deepening European integration changed considerably the traditional approach in access to financial benefits arising mainly from the social security systems of member states. Department of European StudiesKatedra evropských studiíFaculty of Social SciencesFakulta sociálních vě
