An interesting species of Isoetes was collected from Jambughoda, Wildlife Sanctuary, Gujarat. After a review of literature and comparison of the morphological characters with type specimens, it was identified as I. sampathkumarnii L. N. Rao. It is endemic species of south India and rediscovered after a lapse of 63 years. The species shows several features that make it unique in the genus. Earlier, I. sampathkumarnii was also treated as synonym of I. coromandelina L.f. and I. sahyadrii Mahabala. However, it has an idiosyncratic velum character and spore ornamentation that makes it different from other species. Hence, the authors resurrected it as a distinct species. The original material is ambiguous hence, a lectotype of I. sampathkumarnii has been designated here

In the Pharmaceutical process of different forms of medicines raw material & its quality plays an important role. During ancient time Vaidyas were themselves used to collect the raw materials herbs based on their occurrence and organoleptic characters, i.e., typical taste, texture, smell, color, and there types after selection they utilized them in preparing medicines. Based on their own observations, principles of drug processing and ideal quality of finished product, etc., have been documented by them. The principles were developed based upon the scientific parameters prevailing in those days. Materials and Method: Raw Shilajatu was subjected to Shodhana and Shodhita shilajatu was subjected to analytical study. The required materials for the process were collected from the Pharmacy of BLDEA's AVS Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya pharmacy Vijayapur, analytical lab. Raw drugs were purchased from Dorle and Sons retailer from Kolhapur Maharashtra. Shilajatu shodhana was carried out according to reference mentioned in Rasaratna samuchaya. Analytical tests concern Indian Pharmacopeia methods were followed. Result: Raw Shilajatu took 5 ½ hour to 6hour in Shodhan procedure in both batches. Three days for drying. In analytical tests physical constants like pH ash value, solubility, specific gravity, moisture content etc result values were under normal limit

In the 21st century, clothing fashion has become an inevitable part of every individual human as it is considered a way to express their personality to the outside world. Currently the traditional fashion business models are experiencing a paradigm shift from being an experience-based business strategy implementation to a data driven intelligent business improvisation. Artificial Intelligence is acting as a catalyst to achieve the infusion of data intelligence into the fashion industry which aims at fostering all the business brackets such as supply chain management, trend analysis, fashion recommendation, sales forecasting, digitized shopping experience etc. The field of “Fashion AI\u27\u27 is still under research progress because the fashion data is a multifaceted entity which is available in any of the forms like an image, video, text and numerical values. Therefore, it becomes a challenging research arena. There is a paucity of a common study which can provide a bird’s eye view about the research efforts and directions. In this paper, the authors represent a bibliometric survey of the AI based fashion analysis domain based on the Scopus database. The study was conducted by retrieving 581 Scopus research papers published from 1975-2020 and analysed to find out critical insights such as publication volume, co-authorship networks, citation analysis, and demographic research distribution. The study revealed that significant contribution is made via concept propositions in conferences and some papers published in the journal. However, there is a scope of lots of research work in the direction of improving fashion industry with AI techniques

The experiment was conducted using brinjal hybrid seeds cv. Arka Navneet. Seeds were pelleted with Bavistin, ZnSO4, MnSO4, DAP and Arappu leaf powder and stored in paper and polyethylene bags under ambient conditions for 12 months. Among the seed pelleting treatments, seeds pelleted with Bavistin (0.1%) followed by Albezia amara leaf powder (250 g/kg) resulted in minimum quantitative losses with better seed quality parameters. The seeds stored in polyethylene (700 gauges) bags maintained better seed quality parameters with less quantitative losses in comparison with seeds stored in paper bags throughout the storage period. In the interaction, effect of seeds pelleted with Bavistin and stored in polyethylene bag followed by Albezia amara leaf powder and stored in polyethylene bag revealed higher values for all the positive quality parameters when compared to other interaction effects throughout the storage period

AN INTRIGUING CAUSE OF CHRONIC DIARRHEA – PROTEIN-LOSING ENTEROPATHY AS THE PRESENTING MANIFESTATION OF SYSTEMIC LUPUS ERYTHEMATOSUS

ABSTRACTSystemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a systemic autoimmune inflammatory disease.  It presents with myriad of clinical manifestations affecting every other organ system in human body. The gastrointestinal system is one of the commonest affected and it involves any part of the GI tract with incidences ranging from 1.3% to 27.5%. Gastrointestinal manifestations as a presenting feature of SLE is unusual. Chronic diarrhea due to protein losing enteropathy as the presenting manifestation of SLE is very rare and a diagnosis of SLE should be kept in mind when other systemic manifestations are absent. Hence, we report a 29-year-old female with chronic diarrhea as the main manifestation of SLE.Â

A sensitive, selective and precise thin-layer chromatographic method has been developed and validated for the analysis of Berberine and Quercetin in Pathydi Kada laboratory prepared and Market formulation. Separation and quantification were achieved by TLC using mobile phase of Ethyl acetate: Methanol: Glacial acetic acid (6: 4: 0.5) v/v/v (Rf 0.2 & 0.84 for Berberine and Quercetin respectively) on precoated silica gel 60F254 aluminum plates and determination was carried out at 254 and 366 nm for berberine and quercetin respectively. The calibration curve was linear in the concentration range of 4-12 ÎĽg spot-1. The method was validated for precision, repeatability and accuracy. The proposed method was found to be simple, precise, specific, sensitive and accurate for the quantification of Berberine and Quercetin. This is the first TLC report for the simultaneous estimation of Berberine and Quercetin in Pathydi Kada formulation and may be useful for the routine quality control

Background: Osteoid osteoma (OO) is a benign but painful bone lesion that primarily occurs in children and young adults 1. Male:Female ratio is 3:1. The aim of the study was to present our experience of CT guided LASER  ablation  of  radiologicaly proven Osteoid osteomas  in the various bones. Methods: Over the period of 5 years 30 cases of osteoid osteomas in various bones diagnosed on various modalities were treated by CT guided LASER ablation. Bone wise distribution of cases was spine (3), upper end of femur (11), lower end of femur (6), upper end of tibia (4), upper end of humerus (3), lower end of radius (2) and calcaneum (1). 22 patients were treated under spinal and regional anesthesia and 8 patients were treated under short general anesthesia. All the patients were treated on day care basis. The LASER fiber was inserted in the nidus under CT guidance through bone biopsy needle and 1800 joules energy delivered in the lesion continuous mode. Results: 29 (96%) patients have complete relief of pain in twenty-four hours after LASER ablation, One week after treatment all 30 patients were pain free. No neurologic complication was observed in any of our patients with spinal osteoid osteomas. Conclusions: CT guided LASER ablation is a safe, simple and effective method of treatment for osteoid osteoma
