Customized CNN Model for Multiple Illness Identification in Rice and Maize

    Get PDF
Crop diseases imperil global food security and economies, demanding early detection and effective management. Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), particularly in rice and maize leaf disease classification, have gained traction due to their automatic feature extraction capabilities. CNN models eliminate manual feature extraction, enabling precise disease diagnosis based on learned features. Researchers have rapidly advanced these models, achieving promising results. Leaf disease characteristics like color changes, texture variations, and lesion appearance have been identified as useful for automated diagnosis using machine learning. Developing CNN models involves crucial stages: dataset preparation, architecture selection, hyperparameter tuning, and model training and evaluation. Diverse and accurately annotated datasets are pivotal, and appropriate CNN architecture selection, such as ResNet101 and XceptionNet, ensures optimal performance. These architectures' pre-training on vast image datasets enhances feature extraction. Hyperparameter tuning fine-tunes the model, and training and evaluation gauge its precision. CNN models hold potential to enhance rice and maize productivity and global food security by effectively detecting and managing diseases

Malignancy within a tail gut cyst:a case of retrorectal carcinoid tumour

Purpose. Tailgut cysts with malignant transformation are rare entities. We discuss the diagnostic strategy and treatment of a malignancy within a tailgut cyst. Methods. In this study we report on the case of a 61-year-old man with a malignant neuroendocrine tumour arising within a tailgut cyst and an overview of the literature emphasising the histopathological characteristics and differential diagnosis. Results. Our patient presented with lower back pain, rectal pain, and increased urgency of defecation. MRI scan and CT-guided biopsy on histological analysis revealed a diagnosis of carcinoid tumour of the presacral space. The patient subsequently underwent an abdominoperineal excision of the rectum. Conclusions. This case highlights the importance of tailgut cysts as a differential diagnosis of presacral masses. It is a rare congenital lesion developing from remnants of the embryonic postanal gut and is predominantly benign in nature. Approximately half of cases remain asymptomatic; therefore, diagnosis is often delayed. Magnetic resonance imaging is the investigation of choice and an awareness of the possibility of malignant potential is critical to avoiding missed diagnosis and subsequent morbidity. Complete surgical excision allows accurate diagnosis, confirmation of oncological clearance, and prevention of mortality

Study of Zero Budget Natural Farming in Northern Raigad

The Research paper is on the ‘Study of Zero Budget Natural Farming (ZBNF) in Northern Raigad’. For this paper, we approached farmers practicing ZBNF to know what exactly ZBNF method is?  How is it economically and environmentally friendly? What is the nature of economic profile of farmers practicing ZBNF? We used interview method for the project and after analyzing their answers, we found out that they don’t have commercial approach in farming. They are producing for household purpose and they sell the remaining produce to acquaintances. In the absence of well-organized market, they need to sell extra produce to known people. ZBNF is a good concept in agriculture sector which provides healthy and nutritious agricultural products. ZBNF is low-cost farming but it needs minimum 3 to 4 years to set the productivity of land to better results. If government provides subsidy to these farmers, then it will develop commercial approach in the farmers and give good results to the nation. If this method of farming is adopted by all farmers it will reduce many diseases like Cancer, and can help promoting healthy lifestyle.   &nbsp

    FPGA Implementation of Neural Nets

The field programmable gate array (FPGA) is used to build an artificial neural network in hardware. Architecture for a digital system is devised to execute a feed-forward multilayer neural network. ANN and CNN are very commonly used architectures. Verilog is utilized to describe the designed architecture. For the computation of certain tasks, a neural network's distributed architecture structure makes it potentially efficient. The same features make neural nets suitable for application in VLSI technology. For the hardware of a neural network, a single neuron must be effectively implemented (NN). Reprogrammable computer systems based on FPGAs are useful for hardware implementations of neural networks
