Kapitał ludzki, wiedza i innowacje jako czynniki wzmacniające funkcje metropolitalne miast wojewódzkich, na przykładzie Rzeszowa – stolicy regionu podkarpackiego

The goal of this article is to analyze the impact of intangible output factors, such as: human capital, knowledge, innovations on the enhancement of metropolitan functions of Polish regional capitals. Local innovation systems of regional capitals strengthen their metropolitan functions. Ensuring the development of technical and social infrastructure is a prerequisite for effective impact of these intangible factors on metropolization processes of regional capitals. The author supports her theoretical considerations by the case of Rzeszów – the capital of Podkarpacki Region. She presents activities of regional authorities, taken with respect to the enhancement of metropolitan functions of Rzeszów through building knowledge-based economy of this city and the whole region

Legal aspects of selling an enterprise

W pierwszej części pracy poruszone zostały zagadnienia teoretycznoprawne. Opisane zostały najważniejsze teorie odnoszące się do przedsiębiorstwa oraz omówiona została definicja legalna pojęcia przedsiębiorstwa. Kolejna część pracy oparta jest na rozważaniach mających znaczenie praktyczne w obrocie przedsiębiorstwem, a w szczególności na analizie czynności prawnej rozporządzającej. Prezentowana praca składa się z trzech rozdziałów. W pierwszym rozdziale zdefiniowano przedsiębiorstwo na trzech płaszczyznach, tj. podmiotowej, funkcjonalnej i przedmiotowej. Szczególny nacisk położony został na analizę przedsiębiorstwa w ujęciu przedmiotu stosunków cywilnoprawnych. Ponadto, została omówiona definicja legalna przedsiębiorstwa oraz jego składniki. W drugim rozdziale opisane zostały zagadnienia związane ze zbyciem przedsiębiorstwa. Poddano analizie warunki formalne oraz rodzaje czynności prawnych prowadzących do przeniesienia przedsiębiorstwa, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem ich zakresu przedmiotowego. Zwrócono uwagę na dwa podstawowe ujęcia przedsiębiorstwa, tj. jako pewnej zorganizowanej całości, do której przysługuje prawo podmiotowe, jak i ogólnego określenia na ucieleśniające go składniki. Trzeci rozdział poświęcony został na przedstawienie skutków prawnych zbycia przedsiębiorstwa. Omówiona została instytucja następstwa prawnego w oparciu o dwie konkurencyjne teorie, tj. sukcesji singularnej i uniwersalnej. Analizie poddano zagadnienie odpowiedzialności za długi związane z działalnością przedsiębiorstwa, problematykę ograniczenia odpowiedzialności nabywcy i możliwości umownego przejęcia długu.This master thesis refers to selling an enterprise. First part concern the theoretical issues. It describes the most important theories relating to the company and discusses the legal definition of the concept of the company. Second part of the work is based on practical considerations of selling out company especially on the analysis of a dispositive legal action. It consists of three chapters. The first chapter defines the company in three areas. Particular emphasis was placed on analysis of the company in terms of subject matter of civil law relations. It also includes description of legal definition and components. The second chapter describes the issues associated with the sale of the company, formal conditions and types of legal actions. Attention was drawn to two basic concept of a company, as one structure and as general term for different and various components. The third chapter is related with legal consequences of selling out a company and liability for the debts

Prognostic factors in metastatic carcinoma of unknown primary

From January 1980 to June 1984, 70 patients with metastatic carcinoma of unknown primary treated with combination chemotherapy were analyzed for prognostic factors influencing objective response and survival. Suspicious germ-cell tumors and neuroendocrine tumors were excluded since patients with these malignancies tend to live longer than those with metastatic carcinoma of unknown primary. Objective response rate to combination chemotherapy was 28%. Median survival of all patients responding to combination chemotherapy was better than those not responding (16 v 3 months). In patients with good performance status, median survival was longer in responders than nonresponding patients (17 v 7 months). External lymph nodes or subcutaneous disease as the only site of disease and good performance status favorably influenced both objective response and survival, while the number of different metastatic sites favorably influenced only survival. Neutropenia and thrombocytopenia were appreciable but not fatal or a great cause of morbidity in those with good performance status. Thus, patients with metastatic carcinoma of unknown primary with good performance status or only external nodes or subcutaneous disease should be treated with combination chemotherapy regardless of age, histology, or number of different metastatic sites of disease
