Quantifying the search for solid Li-ion electrolyte materials by anion: a data-driven perspective
We compile data and machine learned models of solid Li-ion electrolyte
performance to assess the state of materials discovery efforts and build new
insights for future efforts. Candidate electrolyte materials must satisfy
several requirements, chief among them fast ionic conductivity and robust
electrochemical stability. Considering these two requirements, we find new
evidence to suggest that optimization of the sulfides for fast ionic
conductivity and wide electrochemical stability may be more likely than
optimization of the oxides, and that the oft-overlooked chlorides and bromides
may be particularly promising families for Li-ion electrolytes. We also find
that the nitrides and phosphides appear to be the most promising material
families for electrolytes stable against Li-metal anodes. Furthermore, the
spread of the existing data in performance space suggests that fast conducting
materials that are stable against both Li metal and a >4V cathode are
exceedingly rare, and that a multiple-electrolyte architecture is a more likely
path to successfully realizing a solid-state Li metal battery by approximately
an order of magnitude or more. Our model is validated by its reproduction of
well-known trends that have emerged from the limited existing data in recent
years, namely that the electronegativity of the lattice anion correlates with
ionic conductivity and electrochemical stability. In this work, we leverage the
existing data to make solid electrolyte performance trends quantitative for the
first time, building a roadmap to complement material discovery efforts around
desired material performance.Comment: Main text is 41 pages with 3 figures and 2 tables; attached

Brecht e o Brasil: afinidades eletivas
This article discusses some aspects of Brecht's work and its relationship with the Brazilian literary, historical and socio-political life. The focus is on the inconsistency of the struggle for the so-called Bildung, where the advances of new ideas and social forms are in conflict with a reactionary context.
Peliosis hepatis. Personal experience and literature review
Peliosis hepatis (PH) is a disease characterized by
multiple and small, blood-filled cysts within the
parenchymatous organs. PH is a very rare disease,
more common in adults, and when it affects the liver, it
comes to the surgeon’s attention only in an extremely
urgent situation after the lesion’s rupture with the
resulting hemoperitoneum. This report describes the
case of a 29-year-old woman affected by recurring
abdominal pain. CT scans showed a hepatic lesion
formed by multiple hypodense areas, which showed
an early acquisition of the contrast during the arterial
phase. Furthermore, it remained isodense with the
remaining parenchyma during the late venous phase.
We decided on performing a liver resection of segment
Ⅶ while avoiding a biopsy for safety reasons. The
histopathologic examination confirmed the diagnosis
of focal PH. PH should always be considered in the
differential diagnosis of hepatic lesions. Clinicians
should discuss the possible causes and issues related to
the differential diagnosis in addition to the appropriate
therapeutic approach. The fortuitous finding of a
lesion, potentially compatible with PH, requires elective
surgery with diagnostic and therapeutic intents. The
main aim is to prevent the risk of a sudden bleeding
that, in absence of properly equipped structures, may
have a fatal outcome
Tunable and Growing Network Generation Model with Community Structures
Recent years have seen a growing interest in the modeling and simulation of
social networks to understand several social phenomena. Two important classes
of networks, small world and scale free networks have gained a lot of research
interest. Another important characteristic of social networks is the presence
of community structures. Many social processes such as information diffusion
and disease epidemics depend on the presence of community structures making it
an important property for network generation models to be incorporated. In this
paper, we present a tunable and growing network generation model with small
world and scale free properties as well as the presence of community
structures. The major contribution of this model is that the communities thus
created satisfy three important structural properties: connectivity within each
community follows power-law, communities have high clustering coefficient and
hierarchical community structures are present in the networks generated using
the proposed model. Furthermore, the model is highly robust and capable of
producing networks with a number of different topological characteristics
varying clustering coefficient and inter-cluster edges. Our simulation results
show that the model produces small world and scale free networks along with the
presence of communities depicting real world societies and social networks.Comment: Social Computing and Its Applications, SCA 13, Karlsruhe : Germany

STUDIO NUMERICO DELL'EMODINAMICA IN PAZIENTI CON DISSECAZIONE AORTICA DI TIPO B
The development of type B aortic dissection (AoD) is caused by altered haemodynamic forces exerted on false and true lumina of dissected aorta. This work aims to study haemodynamic and
morphological proprieties, which influence the progression or stability of type B AoD.
Computational fluid-dynamic analyses were performed on three patients with type B AoD, whose two presented an aneurysm evolution and one presented no further complication connected with
dissection.
Blood flow features showed that the true lumen flow was laminar and uniform while false lumen flow lost the laminar characteristic with consequent vorticity formation.
The entry point zone proximal to the aortic arch showed both high blood velocity and pressure connected with peaks of maximum WSS value. A negative pressure gradient between the false lumen entry and re-entry points was observed. This promotes the blood to flow towards the abdominal aorta
reducing the risk of retrograde flow during systole.
We concluded that fluid dynamics study of patients with type B AoD is a valid tool to identify the risk of aortic dissection progression as well as the formation of aortic dissection connected pathology
Tanggap Pertumbuhan Dan Hasil Tanaman Jagung Manis (Zea Mays L. Saccharata) Pada Aplikasi Berbagai Pupuk Organik
The research was conducted in the Green house the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Tadulako Palu. Time of the study began in May 2014. This study used completely randomized design with 5 treatments namely A : Without Fertilizer (control), B : Manure Fertilizer (20 ton ha-1), C : Bokasi Fertilizer (20 ton ha-1), D : Biofertilizer (33,3 ton ha-1), and E : Inorganic Fertilizer (NPK 350 kg ha-1). Each treatment was repeated 4 times resulted to 20 experimental units. Treatment which shows significancy will be further tested with honestly significant difference (HSD) at level of 5%. The results showed that the growth and yield of corn treated with various organic fertilizers positively impacted on plant height, number of leaves, flowering time, cob weight (with husk and without husk) and cob length (with husk and without husk). The application of biofertilizers (microbial from bamboo grove) resulted to better growth and yield

An association of boswellia, betaine and myo-inositol (Eumastós) in the treatment of mammographic breast density. A randomized, double-blind study
Mammographic breast density is a recognized risk factor for breast cancer. The causes that lead to the proliferation of the glandular breast tissue and, therefore, to an increase of breast density are still unclear. However, a treatment strategy to reduce the mammary density may bring about very relevant clinical outcomes in breast cancer prevention. Myo-inositol is a six-fold alcohol of cyclohexane, has already been proved to modulate different pathways: inflammatory, metabolic, oxidative and endocrine processes, in a wide array of human diseases, including cancer and the genesis of mammary gland and breast diseases, like fibrosis, as well as metabolic and endocrine cues. Similarly, boswellic acid and betaine (three-methyl glycine) both inhibit inflammation and exert protective effects on breast physiology. Based on this scientific background, we hypothesized that a combination including, boswellic acid, betaine and myo-inositol would be able to reduce breast density working on different pathways.OBJECTIVE: Mammographic

Myo-inositol is a six-fold alcohol of cyclohexane,
has already been proved to modulate different
pathways: inflammatory, metabolic, oxidative
and endocrine processes, in a wide array of human
diseases, including cancer and the genesis
of mammary gland and breast diseases, like fibrosis,
as well as metabolic and endocrine cues.
Similarly, boswellic acid and betaine (threemethyl
glycine) both inhibit inflammation and exert
protective effects on breast physiology.
Based on this scientific background, we hypothesized
that a combinat ion including,
boswellic acid, betaine and myo-inositol would
be able to reduce breast density working on
different pathways.
PATIENTS AND METHODS: In this study,
seventy-six premenopausal women were randomly
assigned to the placebo and the experimental
drug arms (Eumastós®) for six months.
RESULTS: After 6 months of treatment, statistically
significant difference between the two
groups was recorded on the breast density reduction
(60% vs. 9%), using mammographic as
well as ultrasound examination.
CONCLUSIONS: Preliminary data collected
here with support the starting assumptions, that the association comprising boswellic acid,
betaine and myo-inositol significantly reduces
mammary density, providing the first evidence
for a new and safe approach for the management
of mammographic density treatment
