Understanding How Women Navigated The Fight For Equality During The Second Republic And Transition-era Spain Through Feminist Literature
This paper explores how women navigated the fight for equality during the Second Republic and Transition-era Spain through the lens of feminist literature. Specifically, comparing and analyzing two books, Doble esplendor by Constancia de la Mora (1939) and Crónica del desamor by Rosa Montero (1979). Both books feature women in their thirties who work and explore themes of marriage and romantic love, friendship as a space of freedom, motherhood, working women, and politics against the backdrop of the ever-changing sociopolitical situation in Spain. Through close analysis of these works, the author examines how these women navigate gender roles and societal expectations, as well as the impact of political and cultural changes on their lives. Ultimately, this paper sheds light on the experiences of women during a tumultuous period in Spanish history and highlights the importance of feminist literature in understanding their struggles for equality and autonomy
Semilocal convergence of a family of iterative methods in Banach spaces
[EN] In this work, we prove a third and fourth convergence order result for a family of iterative methods for solving nonlinear systems in Banach spaces. We analyze the semilocal convergence by using recurrence relations, giving the existence and uniqueness theorem that establishes the R-order of the method and the priori error bounds. Finally, we apply the methods to two examples in order to illustrate the presented theory. This work has been supported by Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovaci´on MTM2011-28636-C02-02 and by Vicerrectorado de Investigaci´on.
The present article analyzes Herri Batasuna’s attitude towards European integration in the period going from Spain’s accession to the EEC till the creation of the Basque pro-independence coalition Euskal Herritarrok. The author considers as central elements of the configuration of this attitude both the ideology and the domestic strategy of the pro-independence coalition. The combination of these two elements has pushed HB to participate in the European Parliament, finding itself in the contradiction of taking part in a system which it refused. The article argues that HB subordinated its ideological principles to the necessity of participation in order to reach its primary goals.

Determination of multiple roots of nonlinear equations and applications
The final publication is available at Springer via https://dx.doi.org/10.1007/s10910-014-0460-8[EN] In this work we focus on the problem of approximating multiple roots of nonlinear equations. Multiple roots appear in some applications such as the compression of band-limited signals and the multipactor effect in electronic devices. We present a new family of iterative methods for multiple roots whose multiplicity is known. The methods are optimal in Kung-Traub's sense (Kung and Traub in J Assoc Comput Mach 21:643-651, [1]), because only three functional values per iteration are computed. By adding just one more function evaluation we make this family derivative free while preserving the convergence order. To check the theoretical results, we codify the new algorithms and apply them to different numerical examples. This research was supported by Ministerio de Ciencia y Tecnologia MTM2011-28636-C02-02 and by Vicerrectorado de Investigacion, Universitat Politecnica de Valencia PAID-SP-2012-0474.Hueso Pagoaga, JL.; MartÃnez Molada, E.; Teruel Ferragud, C. Experimental characterization of the thermal performance of the Haines 2 solar cooker
This work presents the most exhaustive experimental characterization of the thermal performance of the Haines 2 solar cooker available to date. Two Haines 2 solar cookers were tested side-by-side in Malaga, Spain, 36.7°N, between May 2021 and December 2021. A novel test procedure using empty pots and a tilted plane with variable inclination gave useful information about the influence of the solar altitude angle on cooker performance, and allowed identification of the best range for each of the two available reflector configurations for this cooker. Some suggestions are given to improve the cooker design for low solar altitude angles. In addition, a large number of water heating tests partly based on the ASAE S580.1 standard protocol were conducted to i) determine the standardised power, ii) examine the influence of the solar altitude angle, and iii) investigate the impact of using partial loads. All these results provide a complete characterization of the performance of this cooker in a wide range of operating conditions of practical interest. It is recommended that future versions of ASAE S580.1 standard consider the influence of both solar altitude angle and partial loads.Funding for open access charge: Universidad de Málaga / CBU
Déshydratation assistée thermiquement couplant essorage et micro-ondes
In a lot of industrial processes, liquid/solid separation is carried out by combination of mechanical and thermal separation (drying). Thermal drying in a mechanical separation device offers a lot of advantages (lower investment, higher productivity, limited footprint. . . ). Moreover, coupling mechanical and thermal effects may lead in some cases to synergic effects allowing an optimal use of energy.Thermal input by dielectric heating may be adapted to a centrifuge. The objective of the project is to design and produce a prototype at pilot scale in order to point out the energetic interest of such a process. So, mechanical separation (centrifuge filtration, drainage) and dielectric heating have to be used simultaneously. Pilot instrumentation will allow to control key parameters of the coupled operation and the global energy consumption. Main results are : the development and the full instrumentation of a centrifuge pilot allowing implement of microwaves. The demonstration of a synergy, in the case of textile spools, between drying effects generated by dielectric heating and centrifuge effects generated by centrifuge basket rotation. The simulation of different physical phenomena linked to filtration cake drainage, dielectric constants assessment, determination of electromagnetic field, air flow used for vapor extraction and determination of heat and mass transfers.
Experimental thermal performance evaluation of different configurations of Copenhagen solar cooker
In this work, four different configurations of Copenhagen solar cookers were tested experimentally at the
same time under the same weather conditions. First tests were carried out using pots without water load.
Secondly, tests were performed with the equal amount of water in each pot. Thirdly, tests were carried
out with different amounts of water for one of the configurations. From the results of the first set of tests,
it was found that the performance of one of the configurations depends more significantly on the solar
altitude angle than the others. A large number of experiments for each set of tests were conducted
covering a wide range of solar altitude angles. A thermal performance analysis based on the ASAE S580.1
standard was performed with the measured data of the second and third sets of tests. The obtained plots
with the observation points of each configuration evidence that the linear trend of the standardised
power is not universal. The observed trends are very dependent on the solar altitude angle. Thus, the
procedure for evaluating standardised power recommended by the standard for cooker performance
comparison should be improved
