    Fases del ciclo productivo de algunas especies del mar argentino (merluza, abadejo, corvina y besugo)

    En términos generales se entiende por ciclo productivo al conjunto actividades, orientadas a la obtención de la materia prima o la extracción de un recurso natural, pasando por su manufactura o industrialización, hasta la comercialización, distribución y entrega del producto final. En la actividad pesquera, el ciclo productivo de cada especie, está incluido como una parte del concepto de pesquería. Según Bertolotti, et al., 2008 se entiende por pesquería a una serie de actividades que incluyen la utilización de embarcaciones, artes, equipos y métodos para la captura de una misma variedad de recursos pesqueros (marinos, continentales y de acuicultura); el manejo, preservación, almacenamiento de la captura y transporte de los desembarques; el procesamiento, la distribución y venta de los productos pesqueros para consumo. En definitiva, el conjunto de pesquerías constituye el sector económico pesquero interno de un país. Relacionado con estos conceptos, también Michael Porter (2010) describe las cadenas de valor, en términos genéricos, como todas las partes de un proceso y en términos empresariales como un modelo de análisis de las actividades internas que se realizan en las empresas y de las interrelaciones que existen entre ellas, de manera que es posible detectar cuáles son las que proporcionan valor de forma directa al cliente (actividades primarias) y cuáles son las que, sin proporcionar valor directamente (actividades de apoyo), ayudan a que las primarias se puedan realizar.Fil: Pagani, Andrea N.     Avaliação da contração de polimerização de três resinas compactáveis, medida por picnômetro a gás

    Modern restorative dentistry has been playing an outstanding role lately since composite resins, allied to adhesive systems, have been widely applied on anterior and posterior teeth restorations. The evolution of composite resins has mostly been verified due to the improvement of their aesthetic behavior and the increase in their compressive and abrasive strengths. In spite of these developments, the polymerization shrinkage inherent to the material has been a major deficiency that, so far, has been impossible to avoid. Using a gas pycnometry, this research investigated the polymerization shrinkage of three packable composite resins: Filtek P60 (3M), Prodigy Condensable (Kerr), and SureFil (Dentsply/Caulk), varying the distance from the light source to the surface of the resins (2 mm or 10 mm). The pycnometer Accupyc 1330 (Micromeritics, USA) precisely records helium displacement, allowing fast and reliable measurements of the volume of composite resin immediately before and after polymerization, without interference of temperature or humidity. Results were not found to be statistically different for the three tested resins, either for 2 mm or 10 mm-distance from the light source to the composite surface.A Odontologia Restauradora moderna tem se destacado nos últimos anos e as resinas compostas, aliadas aos sistemas adesivos, têm sido muito empregadas para restaurações de dentes anteriores e posteriores. A evolução das resinas compostas tem sido constatada na melhoria do seu comportamento estético e no aumento da sua resistência à compressão e à abrasão. Apesar dos avanços mencionados, a contração de polimerização, inerente a esse material, continua sendo uma grande deficiência e, por enquanto, impossível de ser evitada. Nesta pesquisa a contração de polimerização de três resinas compostas compactáveis, Filtek P60 (3M), Prodigy Condensável (Kerr) e SureFil (Dentsply/Caulk), variando-se a distância entre a fonte de luz e a superfície das resinas em 2 mm e 10 mm, foi avaliada pelo método da picnometria a gás. O aparelho picnômetro Accupyc 1330 (Micromeritics, EUA) mede o deslocamento de gás hélio com grande precisão, permitindo medições rápidas e fiéis do volume das resinas compostas antes e após a polimerização, sem interferência da temperatura e da umidade. Os resultados mostraram que não houve diferenças estatisticamente significantes entre as três resinas avaliadas. Independentemente do tipo de resina composta, também não houve diferenças significantes para as distâncias de polimerização de 2 mm e 10 mm

    Neural network approximation of graph Fourier transform for sparse sampling of networked dynamics

    Infrastructure monitoring is critical for safe operations and sustainability. Like many networked systems, water distribution networks (WDNs) exhibit both graph topological structure and complex embedded flow dynamics. The resulting networked cascade dynamics are difficult to predict without extensive sensor data. However, ubiquitous sensor monitoring in underground situations is expensive, and a key challenge is to infer the contaminant dynamics from partial sparse monitoring data. Existing approaches use multi-objective optimization to find the minimum set of essential monitoring points but lack performance guarantees and a theoretical framework. Here, we first develop a novel Graph Fourier Transform (GFT) operator to compress networked contamination dynamics to identify the essential principal data collection points with inference performance guarantees. As such, the GFT approach provides the theoretical sampling bound. We then achieve under-sampling performance by building auto-encoder (AE) neural networks (NN) to generalize the GFT sampling process and under-sample further from the initial sampling set, allowing a very small set of data points to largely reconstruct the contamination dynamics over real and artificial WDNs. Various sources of the contamination are tested, and we obtain high accuracy reconstruction using around 5%–10% of the network nodes for known contaminant sources, and 50%–75% for unknown source cases, which although larger than that of the schemes for contaminant detection and source identifications, is smaller than the current sampling schemes for contaminant data recovery. This general approach of compression and under-sampled recovery via NN can be applied to a wide range of networked infrastructures to enable efficient data sampling for digital twins

    Reflexiones sobre la concentración pesquera y las cuotas individuales de captura en Argentina

    En 2010, la implementación de las cuotas individuales transferibles de captura (CITC) en Argentina puso en debate una de las desventajas del sistema: la concentración pesquera. Desde la teoría económica, se demuestra que la eficiencia económica se logra en los mercados competitivos, por lo que el término concentración tiene una connotación negativa. El objetivo de este trabajo es analizar, desde una perspectiva teórica, si el sector pesquero presenta rasgos no competitivos y los efectos sobre la eficiencia económica. El sector presenta desvíos respecto de un mercado competitivo. Los efectos de la concentración sobre la eficiencia asignativa pierden relevancia cuando se utiliza un alto porcentaje de la cuota global y cuando la misma se constituya en una restricción fuerte a la oferta o cuando el destino de la producción es principalmente el mercado externo. El logro de la eficiencia productiva depende de cómo se estructura la posibilidad de obtener o ceder cuotas.The implementation of Individual Transferable Quotas in Argentina in 2010 brought the field of one of the fishing system disadvantages, fishing concentration, to the debate. The economic theory has shown that economic efficiency is achieved in competitive markets, and therefore the term concentration has negative connotations. This work analyses, from a theoretical perspective, if the fishing sector presents non-competitive features and the effects that they have on economic efficiency. The fishing sector shows deviations from competitive markets. The effects of concentration on allocation efficiency is no longer relevant when a high percentage of the global quota is used and when it constitutes a strong restriction on supply or, when production is mainly destined to the foreign market.     Políticas de gobierno abierto en los deliberativos municipales

    El presente trabajo pretende relevar qué políticas de gobierno abierto están disponibles para los ciudadanos en el ámbito de los Honorables Concejos Deliberantes de los municipios de la provincia de Buenos Aires ya que casi toda la literatura sobre las políticas de gobierno abierto se centra en los ejecutivos y, mayoritariamente, están enfocadas en los ejecutivos nacionales. La ausencia de datos y metodologías consolidados en el espacio de esta investigación deriva en un gran margen discursivo en cuanto a los verdaderos alcances de las políticas públicas abiertas a nivel municipal.     IMPROVE: Advanced displays and interaction techniques for collaborative design review

    In this paper we present evaluation results of an innovative application designed to make collaborative design review in the architectural and automotive domain more effective. Within IMPROVE, a European research project in the area of advanced displays, we are combining high resolution multi-tile displays, TabletPCs and head-mounted displays with innovative 2D and 3D Interaction Paradigms to better support collaborative mobile mixed reality design reviews. Our research and development is motivated by application scenarios in the automotive domain involving FIAT Elasis from Naples, Italy and in the architectural domain involving Page/Park architects from Glasgow, Scotland. User evaluation took place at Glasgow (UK), Naples (ITA) and Darmstadt (GER), where we tested the integrated IMPROVE prototype application. The tests were conducted based on several heuristics such as ergonomics and psychomotorial factors and they were conducted based on guidelines recommended by ISO 9241 to verify whether the developed interfaces were suitable for the applications scenarios. Evaluation results show that there is a strong demand for more interactive design review systems, allowing users greater flexibility and greater choice of input and visualization modalities as well as their combination

    IMPROVE: collaborative design review in mobile mixed reality

    In this paper we introduce an innovative application designed to make collaborative design review in the architectural and automotive domain more effective. For this purpose we present a system architecture which combines variety of visualization displays such as high resolution multi-tile displays, TabletPCs and head-mounted displays with innovative 2D and 3D Interaction Paradigms to better support collaborative mobile mixed reality design reviews. Our research and development is motivated by two use scenarios: automotive and architectural design review involving real users from Page\Park architects and FIAT Elasis. Our activities are supported by the EU IST project IMPROVE aimed at developing advanced display techniques, fostering activities in the areas of: optical see-through HMD development using unique OLED technology, marker-less optical tracking, mixed reality rendering, image calibration for large tiled displays, collaborative tablet-based and projection wall oriented interaction and stereoscopic video streaming for mobile users. The paper gives an overview of the hardware and software developments within IMPROVE and concludes with results from first user tests

    Handling Time and Bite Mass Mechanisms in Large Herbivores: Contrasts between Sward Structure and Grazing Methods

    Grazing is a time-dependent process where jaw movements of prehension, handling and chewing compete with them (Laca et al. 1994; Ungar et al. 2006). The grazing efficiency is dependent of bite mass and time per bite. Bite mass has been related to sward structure by forage height, structural components (Cangiano et al. 2002). In rotational stocking this effect becomes more pronounced, especially under high grazing down levels. Consequently, there is a progressive reduction in short-term intake rate (Fonseca et al. in press). New management targets should be proposed based on the predominant influence of sward structure in short-term intake rate by grazing animals (Carvalho et al. 2007). We hypothesise that intake potential of animals grazing tropical pastures will be reduced due to higher constraints in bite formation when compared to temperate pastures.
