Dissimilar metal joining of stainless steel and titanium using copper as transition metal
Joining of stainless steel and titanium dissimilar metal combination has a specific interest in the nuclear industry. Due to the metallurgical incompatibility, it has been very difficult to produce reliable joints between these metals due to the formation of FeTi and Fe2Ti types of intermetallic compounds. The metallurgical incompatibility between both materials is enhanced by the time–temperature profile of the welding process used. Brittle intermetallics (IMCs) are formed during Fe–Ti welding (FeTi and Fe2Ti). The present study uses the low thermal heat input process cold metal transfer (CMT), when compared with conventional GMAW, to deposit a copper (Cu) bead between Ti and stainless steel. Cu is compatible with Fe, and it has a lower melting point than the two base materials. The welds were produced between AMS 4911L (Ti-6Al-4V) and AISI 316L stainless steel using a CuSi-3 welding wire. The joints produced revealed two IM layers located near the parent metals/weld interfaces. The hardness of these layers is higher than the remainder of the weld bead. Tensile tests were carried out with a maximum strength of 200 MPa, but the interfacial failure could not be avoided. Ti atomic migration was observed during experimental trials; however, the IMC formed are less brittle than FeTi, inducing higher mechanical properties.EPSR
Research has shown the importance of social support on mental health, however, this investigation has not been done yet in elder population. It is so our aim to study the relationship between perceived social support, satisfaction with life, anxiety symptoms and depressive symptoms. We collect a sample of 46 subject aged between 65 and 95 years old. We used the Geriatric Anxiety Inventory (GAI) and Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS) to assess anxious and depressive symptoms. To assess social support we use the Older Americans Resources and Services Program (OARS), which evaluate the social resources, and to assess the life satisfaction we use the Satisfaction With Life Scale (SWLS). We found that 91.3% of subjects were illiterate or with low education and only 4 (8.7%) had studied beyond the fourth grade. The elders showed higher average symptoms of anxiety and depression, and dissatisfaction. Regarding the perception of social support, the elderly essentially reveal high dissatisfaction with the extent of contact with others and the availability of help. We also found that perceived social support is related to the Mental Health and Well-being, it is so important to think in strategies that promote the integration of elder population in social life. The promotion of multigenerational intercourse seems to be a solution
Child-focused mHealth apps used in collaborative, real-world interventions: A scoping review
The use of mHealth apps as part of rehabilitation-based interventions for pediatrics in real-world environments has not previously been researched extensively. This scoping review aimed to gather, synthesize, and summarize the existing literature on pediatric-focused mHealth apps that have been used in real-world environments as interventions by healthcare professionals within rehabilitation sciences, as part of a collaborative care practice

Structural characterization of some problems on circle and interval graphs
A graph is circle if there is a family of chords in a circle such that two
vertices are adjacent if the corresponding chords cross each other. There are
diverse characterizations of circle graphs, many of them using the notions of
local complementation or split decomposition. However, there are no known
structural characterization by minimal forbidden induced subgraphs for circle
graphs. In this thesis, we give a characterization by forbidden induced
subgraphs of circle graphs within split graphs. A -matrix has the
consecutive-ones property (C1P) for the rows if there is a permutation of its
columns such that the 's in each row appear consecutively. In this thesis,
we develop characterizations by forbidden subconfigurations of -matrices
with the C1P for which the rows are -colorable under a certain adjacency
relationship, and we characterize structurally some auxiliary circle graph
subclasses that arise from these special matrices. Given a graph class , a
-completion of a graph is a graph such
that belongs to . A -completion of is minimal if does not belong to for every proper subset of . A
-completion of is minimum if for every -completion of , the cardinal of is less than or equal to the cardinal
of . In this thesis, we study the problem of completing minimally to obtain
a proper interval graph when the input is an interval graph. We find necessary
conditions that characterize a minimal completion in this particular case, and
we leave some conjectures for the future.Comment: PhD Thesis, joint supervision Universidad de Buenos
