Decision Making for Inconsistent Expert Judgments Using Negative Probabilities
In this paper we provide a simple random-variable example of inconsistent
information, and analyze it using three different approaches: Bayesian,
quantum-like, and negative probabilities. We then show that, at least for this
particular example, both the Bayesian and the quantum-like approaches have less

Light clusters and the pasta phase
The effects of including light clusters in nuclear matter at low densities
are investigated within four different parametrizations of relativistic models
at finite temperature. Both homogeneous and inhomogeneous matter (pasta phase)
are described for neutral nuclear matter with fixed proton fractions. We
discuss the effect of the density dependence of the symmetry energy, the
temperature and the proton fraction on the non-homogeneous matter forming the
inner crust of proto-neutron stars. It is shown that the number of nucleons in
the clusters, the cluster proton fraction and the sizes of the Wigner Seitz
cell and of the cluster are very sensitive to the density dependence of the

Inequalities for dealing with detector inefficiencies in Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger-type experiments
In this article we show that the three-particle GHZ theorem can be
reformulated in terms of inequalities, allowing imperfect correlations due to
detector inefficiencies. We show quantitatively that taking into accout those
inefficiencies, the published results of the Innsbruck experiment support the

Apicultura e bovinocultura de corte: comparativo econômico da implantação hipotética dessas atividades no Pantanal.
Esta publicação foi realizada na forma de um comparativo econômico hipotético entre duas atividades econômicas que podem ser desenvolvidas, simultaneamente ou não, nas propriedades da região pantaneira: a apicultura (alternativa) e a bovinocultura de corte (tradicional). Dessa forma, buscou-se que os parâmetros, produtivos e econômicos de ambas as atividades, considerados nos cálculos fossem os mais realistas possíveis para as condições de uma propriedade (fazenda São Luiz), localizada no Pantanal do Abobral, que foi dedicada tradicionalmente à bovinocultura de corte e na qual o proprietário futuramente pretende instalar a apicultura. The GREATS H+[OIII] Luminosity Function and Galaxy Properties at : Walking the Way of JWST
The James Webb Space Telescope will allow to spectroscopically study an
unprecedented number of galaxies deep into the reionization era, notably by
detecting [OIII] and H nebular emission lines. To efficiently prepare
such observations, we photometrically select a large sample of galaxies at
and study their rest-frame optical emission lines. Combining data from
the GOODS Re-ionization Era wide-Area Treasury from Spitzer (GREATS) survey and
from HST, we perform spectral energy distribution (SED) fitting, using
synthetic SEDs from a large grid of photoionization models. The deep
Spitzer/IRAC data combined with our models exploring a large parameter space
enables to constrain the [OIII]+H fluxes and equivalent widths for our
sample, as well as the average physical properties of galaxies, such
as the ionizing photon production efficiency with
. We
find a relatively tight correlation between the [OIII]+H and UV
luminosity, which we use to derive for the first time the [OIII]+H
luminosity function (LF) at . The [OIII]+H LF is higher
at all luminosities compared to lower redshift, as opposed to the UV LF, due to
an increase of the [OIII]+H luminosity at a given UV luminosity from
to . Finally, using the [OIII]+H LF, we make
predictions for JWST/NIRSpec number counts of galaxies. We find that
the current wide-area extragalactic legacy fields are too shallow to use JWST
at maximal efficiency for spectroscopy even at 1hr depth and JWST

DD3MAT: a code for yield criteria anisotropy parameters identification
This work presents the main strategies and algorithms adopted in the DD3MAT in-house code, specifically developed for identifying the anisotropy parameters. The algorithm adopted is based on the minimization of an error function, using a downhill simplex method. The set of experimental values can consider yield stresses and r - values obtained from in-plane tension, for different angles with the rolling direction (RD), yield stress and r - value obtained for biaxial stress state, and yield stresses from shear tests performed also for different angles to RD. All these values can be defined for a specific value of plastic work. Moreover, it can also include the yield stresses obtained from in-plane compression tests. Entropy, diffusivity and the energy landscape of a water-like fluid
Molecular dynamics simulations and instantaneous normal mode (INM) analysis
of a fluid with core-softened pair interactions and water-like liquid-state
anomalies are performed to obtain an understanding of the relationship between
thermodynamics, transport properties and the poten- tial energy landscape.
Rosenfeld-scaling of diffusivities with the thermodynamic excess and pair
correlation entropy is demonstrated for this model. The INM spectra are shown
to carry infor- mation about the dynamical consequences of the interplay
between length scales characteristic of anomalous fluids, such as bimodality of
the real and imaginary branches of the frequency distribu- tion. The INM
spectral information is used to partition the liquid entropy into two
contributions associated with the real and imaginary frequency modes; only the
entropy contribution from the imaginary branch captures the non-monotonic
behaviour of the excess entropy and diffusivity in the anomalous regime of the
fluid
