Objective: To determine the distribution of the Ferriman–Gallwey score in Asia and to study any association between hirsutism and endocrine markers, and also to find the cut off of  F-G score.                                       Background: Hirsutism is the most widely used clinical diagnostic criterion for hyperandrogenism, it is present in approximately 70% of PCOS women. Using the Ferriman- Gallwey (F-G) scoring systems for evaluation of hirsutism, the degrees of hyperandrogenism from different regions are distinct and have different cut off.Material and methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out at Dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital Jakarta in 2015. Reproductive age women who commits with PCOS criteria were included in the study. Clinical data was taken by interview, physical examination and US examination. Patient’s blood was taken for FTI, and testosterone. Results: The data indicated that 32.4% PCOS woman shows clinical signs of hyperandrogenism, with the minimum score of hirsutism 2 and based on laboratory findings 34.3% subjects show high FTI and testosterone level. However not all patient with high androgen level have a high score of hirsutism.                              Conclusion: Clinical and laboratory finding of hyperandrogenism have a correlation to determine the score of Ferriman–Gallwey (F-G). The cut off is lower than European and west countries

Banyuwangi is one of the Regencies under National Priority Rural Area. The potential being developed by Banyuwangi Government is the development of tourism village by exploring its resources. Tamansari village, Licin district has become the best tourism village on the category of business network utilization. Several obstacles were found along with the increase on number of tourists, tourists’ activities and insensitivity of its community to change: 1) littering on the road, river at ecotourism location 2) lack of environmental cleanliness as wastes were at large volume 3) cleanliness at  ecotourism location was not maintained 4) waste transported to landfill did not run well 5) environmental pollution due to community’s behavior that stored wastes in excavation of soil pit 6) odor pollution and diseases 7) lack of knowledge and skill in processing wastes 8) the village potential has not been utilized to improve its economic growth. In overcoming these problems, creative industry on laborintensive referring waste processing and management was established through technology product activities disseminating to community. Waste processing was done by converting organic wastes to compost through aerated static pile system which was useful for coffee plant and flower cultivations. Plastic wastes were processed into high-quality paving blocks; and some were processed into semi-raw material for plastic processing industry/collector

Sheep are small ruminants with quite high prospects, especially in providing a source of animal protein. CV. Sultan Farm is a company that operates in the field of breeding, fattening, and trading sheep. This company was established in 2019 until now and has supplied many meat sheep in the Jember area and surrounding areas. Increase in the number of CV sheep. Sultan Farm's breeding process is still less than optimal. Therefore, to increase livestock productivity, CV. Sultan Farm requires training on how to apply GFP to sheep properly. This training activity aims to increase partners' knowledge about Good Farming Practices (GFP) or good Livestock Cultivation Guidelines to increase livestock population, production, and productivity, and improve the quality of livestock products, in the form of quality meat, safe and suitable for consumption. The methods used were surveys, delivery of training materials, and direct practice of sheep cultivation. Conclusions from the results of this activity: 1) The sheep cultivation training activity by following Good Farming Practices (GFP) given to participants ran smoothly and successfully; 2) The final evaluation of the results of the activity shows that the partner breeders have a good understanding of the GFP procedure as demonstrated by the ability to describe and practice sheep cultivation procedures/techniques correctly and appropriatel

THE IMPLICATIONS OF ENERGY TRANSITION ON SUSTAINABLE SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT PRACTICES IN THE OIL AND GAS INDUSTRY

    Get PDF
The oil and gas (O&G) industry is increasingly pressured to manage its supply chain sustainably due to the negative impact of its activities and products on the environment and society. Unsustainable exploitation of the O&G has also led to concerns about its future availability, thus the security of energy supply. These issues resulted in the call for the transition to an energy system that favours low carbon and renewable sources. The O&G are expected to respond to these pressures by developing strategies that could enhance its competitiveness and compatibility with the future energy systems. As yet, little is known about the strategies especially with regard to sustainable supply chain management (SSCM) aspects. Therefore, this study aims to add to the discussion by focusing on understanding the implications of energy transition to SSCM practices in the O&G industry. It employs content analysis of sustainability reports of 30 O&G companies. The findings indicate that although 18 companies are involved in the research and development of alternative energy, the main focus is on developing unconventional O&G to increase fuel supply bases. In addition, among the alternatives, biofuels is the most preferred energy option due to its compatibility with the companies’ existing business and infrastructure. Overall, there are considerable limitations in the discussions of the SSCM strategy in the reports. We find that the sustainability of the unconventionals’ production processes received more attention than supplier and logistics management. The strategies for sustainable supply chain of the alternatives, except for biofuels, are hardly discussed or absent from the report. The findings could be useful to industry practitioners in decision making processes to improve existing SSCM practices during the transition, and to academics to identify areas for further investigations.Â

Hydrogen or sometimes called water, is a chemical element on the periodic table that has the symbol H and atomic number 1. At standard temperatures and pressures, hydrogen is colorless, odorless, non-metallic, singlevalent, and a highly flammable diatomic gas. With an atomic mass of 1.00794 amu, hydrogen is the lightest element in the world. It is also the most abundant element, accounting for roughly 75% of the total elemental mass of the universe. Most stars are formed by hydrogen in the plasma state. Hydrogen compounds are relatively rare and rarely found naturally on Earth, and are usually produced industrially from various hydrocarbons such as methane. Hydrogen can also be produced from water through electrolysis, but this process is more expensive commercially than producing hydrogen from natural gas. With the aim to prove the explosion that occurred and the reaction that occurred during the experimental process of an exothermic or endoderm reaction explosio
