Entanglement renormalization of anisotropic XY model

The renormalization group flows of the one-dimensional anisotropic XY model and quantum Ising model under a transverse field are obtained by different multiscale entanglement renormalization ansatz schemes. It is shown that the optimized disentangler removes the short-range entanglement by rotating the system in the parameter space spanned by the anisotropy and the magnetic field. It is understood from the study that the disentangler reduces the entanglement by mapping the system to another one in the same universality class but with smaller short range entanglement. The phase boundary and corresponding critical exponents are calculated using different schemes with different block sizes, look-ahead steps and truncation dimensions. It is shown that larger truncation dimension leads to more accurate results and that using larger block size or look-ahead step improve the overall calculation consistency.Comment: 5 pages, 3 figure

This study used a qualitative method and the determination of respondents used a snowball sampling. The data collection techniques were through interviews, observation, documentation and the data analysis techniques included reduction, presentation, and verification. From the results of the study showed that the implementation of the public relations performance department in disseminating information, seen from the organization was effective and efficient. In the preparation of the public relations department did two approaches, namely based on the quantity and quality of its human resources, but in a communication policy Public Relations Section has not yet applied the basic tasks of government public relations. Directing the Public Relations Section was through formal and informal forms. While the supervision was through the IMM (Intelligence Media Management) software system which can monitor, collect online, printed and TV media content. From the assessment, the public relations department got some big problems with the existence of Spirit 99Work Days programs that have not been implemented. The inhibiting factors were inadequate funding and human resources and also the ineffective communication

Abstract: Background and Aims: This double blind prospective randomized clinical trial evaluated the efficacy and safety of continuous ultrasound-guided lumbar plexus block compared to continuous ultrasound-guided femoral nerve block, in the intra-operative and postoperative periods after total knee replacement. Methods: Forty ASA I-III patients were randomized to receive: continuous femoral block (n= 20, 30 ml of ropivacaine 5 mg/ml) or continuous lumbar plexus block (n= 20, 30 ml of ropivacaine 5 mg/ml) both in association with single injection sciatic nerve block. All patients received continuous infusion of 2 mg/ml of ropivacaine at 8 ml/h for 48 hours and intra- venous morphine for patient-controlled analgesia. Primary outcomes were intra-operative sufentanil consumption and verbal analogue scale (VAS) score at rest at 24h follow up. Results: Intra-operative sufentanil consumption was higher in the femoral block (FEM) group compared to the lumbar plexus block (PSOAS) group (FEM: 10.00 (10.00, 17.50) μg; PSOAS: 2.50 (0.00, 10.00) μg. p= 0.002). Obturator motor blockade occurred more frequently in the PSOAS group (70%) than in the FEM group (40%) (p=0.1); however, we found no differences in sensory blockade (p=0.6). VAS at rest was similar in the two groups at 24h postoperatively (FEM: 29.50 ± 14.74 mm; PSOAS: 25.60 ±17.42 mm. p=0.4), and throughout the follow-up period. No differences were detected in pain scores during physiotherapy. Conclusion: Continuous femoral and lumbar plexus blocks, both in association with sciatic nerve block, provided similar VAS scores at 24h, and throughout the follow-up period; intra-operative sufentanil consumption was, however, lower in the lumbar plexus block group

Critical properties of homogeneous binary trees

Many-body states whose wave-function admits a representation in terms of a uniform binary-tree tensor decomposition are shown to obey to power-law two-body correlations functions. Any such state can be associated with the ground state of a translational invariant Hamiltonian which, depending on the dimension of the systems sites, involve at most couplings between third-neighboring sites. A detailed analysis of their spectra shows that they admit an exponentially large ground space.Comment: 6 pages, 2 figure

A positive tensor network approach for simulating open quantum many-body systems

Open many-body quantum systems play an important role in quantum optics and condensed-matter physics, and capture phenomena like transport, interplay between Hamiltonian and incoherent dynamics, and topological order generated by dissipation. We introduce a versatile and practical method to numerically simulate one-dimensional open quantum many-body dynamics using tensor networks. It is based on representing mixed quantum states in a locally purified form, which guarantees that positivity is preserved at all times. Moreover, the approximation error is controlled with respect to the trace norm. Hence, this scheme overcomes various obstacles of the known numerical open-system evolution schemes. To exemplify the functioning of the approach, we study both stationary states and transient dissipative behaviour, for various open quantum systems ranging from few to many bodies.Comment: 13 pages, 7 figures, significant material on error bounds adde

Tomcat (Paederus sp.) venom can bring a condition called dermaconecrosis. Initially, paederin toxins was thought that come from the body of Tomcat (Paederus sp.). However, based on Piel's research, the genes come from biosynthesis of tomcat (Paederus sp.) venom is more approach to Pseudomonas aeruginosa genes than body itself. In other fact, Pseudomonas aeruginosa can secrete enzymes metalloprotease (MMP), especially extracellular MMP-2 and MMP-9. MMP-2 and MMP-9 are gelatinase that can destroy the gelatin on human skin. There has been no previous report about the treatment of dermatitis paederus based on the mechanism of action except for the use of corticosteroids as symptomatic drugs. Because of that, researcher hypotheses that MMP-2 and MMP-9 have a role on dermatitis paederus and doxycycline can inhibit that process as MMP inhibitor and antibiotics component. The research design is quasi-experimental research, in vitro with a post-test only control group design. The research steps are Tomcat (Paederus sp.) venom extraction, doxycycline solution preparation, and electrophoresis of gelatin zymografi. The independent variables are induction of Tomcat (paederin sp.) venom and the doses of doxycycline, while the dependent variable is the density of the gel. Gel density was measured using densitometry software ImageJ and calibrated as optical density. This study describes the first time the mechanism Paederus dermatitis caused by MMP-2 and MMP-9, so that the first line of therapy that can be used is doxycycline with an effective dose of 10 mM in vitro

For this study, we measured the concentrations of 23 trace elements (Al, As, Ba, Bi, Cd, Cr, Co, Cu, Fe, Ga, Hg, In, Li, Mn, Mo, Ni, Pb, Se, Sr, Ti, Tl, V, and Zn) in the whole bodies of three functional feeding groups (FFG) (filterers—Hydropsychidae, scrapers—Heptageniidae, and predators—Odonata) of aquatic insects collected from two sites in the Po basin (Po Settimo and Malone Front, Northwest Italy) to determine: (a) how FFG influence trace element accumulations, (b) if scrapers accumulate higher elements compared to the other FFG, since they graze on periphyton, which represents one of the major sinks of metals, and (c) the potential use of macroinvertebrates to assess the bioavailability of trace elements in freshwater. The hierarchical clustering analysis generated three main groups based on trace element concentrations: the most abundant elements were Fe and Al, followed by Sr, In, Zn, V, Mo, and Cu. Tl was below the limit of detection (LOD) in all FFG. Ga was detected only in scrapers from both sites and Hg only in predators from Po Settimo. The principal component analysis showed that concentrations of Al, As, Bi, Cd, Co, Cr, Ga, Fe, In, Mn, Pb, Ni, and Sr were highest in scrapers, suggesting that trace elements accumulate from the ingestion of epilithic periphyton (biofilm). Odonata (predators) accumulate certain elements (Ba, Hg, Li, Se, V, Ti, and Zn) in higher concentrations by food ingestion composed of different aquatic organisms. Differently, Cu and Mo concentrations were the highest in filterers due to their bioavailability in the water column. Non-metric multidimensional scaling clearly differentiated the FFG based on their ability to accumulate trace elements. The findings from this study represent an important step toward the definition of an innovative approach based on trace element accumulation by macroinvertebrates
