Educational environment plays a vital role on effectiveness of learning and educational activity. The DREEM questionnaire is a tool for assessing educational environment. We estimated the dental students’ perceptions of their educational environment. This was a descriptive study using a convenience sampling in addition to DREEM questionnaire which was carried out on 23 female students of Roudsar city in 2015. The mean and standard diversion scores of perception. Students in the five areas including: the area of learning 34/2±5/66 of 60 score, teachers area 34/62±5/23 of 55 score, areas of academic ability 25/94±4/36 of 40 score, educational environment 33/33±5/05 of 50 score and the perception of students in the social condition 24±1/40 of 35 score. Total score was 168 of 200 score. Educational environment of learning is important, so improving this situation should be responsible priority

Four pure mulberry silkworm breeds viz., Pure Mysore, Nistari, NB4D2 & CSR2 and two hybrid (Pure Mysore x CSR2 and Nistari x NB4D2 ) silkworms were selected for the present study. The total DNA, RNA and soluble proteins present in the mid alimentary canal was estimated during fifth instar with a regular interval of 24 h, and the average concentration during fifth instar was calculated. The average concentration of DNA, RNA and proteins were subjected to regression analysis with each other individually to know the kind and level of correlation coefficient between them. The results of regression analysis between DNA and RNA as well as between RNA and Protein exhibited very strong level of correlation coefficient between them. The average concentration of DNA and protein exhibited moderately strong positive relationship between them. The concentration of DNA, RNA and protein as well as their ratios are more in hybrid silkworms

Four pure mulberry silkworm breeds viz., Pure Mysore, Nistari, NB4D2 & CSR2 and two hybrid (Pure Mysore x CSR2 and Nistari x NB4D2 ) silkworms were selected for the present study. The specific activity of alkaline phosphatase (ALKP) in midgut and fat body tissues were estimated. The qualitative analysis of ALKP was carried out by Native-PAGE. The commercial characters viz., fecundity, larval weight, larval duration, cocoon weight, shell weight, shell ratio, filament length, denier and renditta were selected. The activity levels of ALKP of midgut and fat body tissue showed statistically significant (P<0.001) changes in their activity levels during fifth instar. The results of quantitative analysis were subjected for regression analysis against selected commercial characters to know the correlation coefficient between them. The results of regression analysis clearly showed that midgut ALKP has positive correlation with fecundity, larval duration and renditta only. The activity levels of fat body ALKP showed positive correlation with fecundity, larval weight and renditta only. The zymograms of ALKP in midgut and fat body also exhibited variation among the selected silkworm varieties

Evaluation of the performance of HEV technologies using a MILP model to minimize pollutants emissions

This paper presents a mixed integer linear programming (MILP) model to optimizing the maintenance costs during the operation of the hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) aiming at reducing CO 2 emissions during operating along of the day. This target is obtained by an appropriate selection of navigation modes and the optimal scheduling of deliveries. The proposed model considers the average speed, battery state of charge (SOC), and the set of deliveries to be made by each type of HEV. A set of constraints that ensures the performance of the HEVs is considers while the uncertainties of the trip on each urban road are modeled using the traffic density values according to the levels of service (LOS). The proposed model is implemented in AMPL and solved using the solver CPLEX showed the effectiveness in the evaluation of each type of HEV technology.Peer reviewe

Essential barriers in development and exploitation of innovation and inventions in the engineering and technical fields

Nowadays, higher education institutes and engineering organizations have achieved this important matter that they can maintain their initiative and advantages in long term competition by innovation and its development and extension. Both factors including rapid changing technology and intense competition have the key role in considering the increasingly innovation in industries. In this research, we tried to identify some essential barriers of development and exploitation of innovation by referring to the Iran managers and inventors community. This is an applied research and an objectively survey. To analyze the data, we used Friedman Test. The results showed that instability of supportive rules and regulations, and insufficient funds are the most important barriers of development and exploitation of innovation from managers and inventors point of view so that the inventors and managers respectively mentioned financial resources and matters relating to training as the most important barrier

From Mineral Surfaces and Coreflood Experiments to Reservoir Implementations: Comprehensive Review of Low-Salinity Water Flooding (LSWF)

    No full text
Low-salinity water flooding (LSWF) is an emerging and inexpensive enhanced oil recovery (EOR) method. The technique hinges on the following concept: as salinity of injected water reduces, additional oil is recovered. However, LSWF remains emerging because its underlying mechanisms have been largely elusive, and the identified ones have been controversial. If properly investigated, smart water injection may contribute to harnessing both heavy-oil reservoirs, which account for nearly 80% of world\u27s petroleum reserves, and conventional light-to-medium oil reservoirs. This report presents a comprehensive review of low-salinity water injection as an EOR method, with a specific focus on consistencies or lack of them, that occurs primarily due to inadequate understanding of oil-brine and rock-oil-brine interactions. In presenting well-documented scientific information, we expect to apprise industry and academic researchers that LSWF warrants more-advanced research based on interdisciplinary approach (bridging the gap between science and engineering) and the integration of knowledge from R&D efforts and observations from the atomic to the field scales
