In this work I offer a brief overview of my doctoral thesis research, which is aimed at was to study the life and social practices of migrant adolescents from their own perspectives and experiences. With this goal in mind, we used a general ethnographic methodology and, in particular, a series of workshops built around different artistic techniques, in which we invited five migrant minors living in a Residential Centre in the province of Bizkaia to be active and committed participants from the very start in the processes of generating material from which to analyse their daily routines and the activities through which they expressed themselves. This methodological strategy allowed us to take a holistic approach to the study of the phenomenon of these adolescents'. The analytical perspective of this research therefore understands information technology, the physical body and family structure as key elements and sources of social capital, through whose interrelations we can observe the daily lives and social interactions of these minors. Thus, we will see how these migrant adolescents are connected with their families and transnational communities, along with the constant exchanges they engage in to integrate their migration and mobility
Frobenius pairs in abelian categories: correspondences with cotorsion pairs, exact model categories, and Auslander-Buchweitz contexts
In this work, we revisit Auslander-Buchweitz Approximation Theory and find
some relations with cotorsion pairs and model category structures. From the
notions of relatives generators and cogenerators in Approximation Theory, we
introduce the concept of left Frobenius pairs in an
abelian category . We show how to construct from
a projective exact model structure on
, as a result of Hovey-Gillespie Correspondence applied to
two compatible and complete cotorsion pairs in . These
pairs can be regarded as examples of what we call cotorsion pairs relative to a
thick subcategory of . We establish some correspondences between
Frobenius pairs, relative cotorsion pairs, exact model structures and
Auslander-Buchweitz contexts. Finally, some applications of these results are
given in the context of Gorenstein homological algebra by generalizing some
existing model structures on the categories of modules over Gorenstein and
Ding-Chen rings, and by encoding the stable module category of a ring as a
certain homotopy category. We also present some connections with perfect
cotorsion pairs, covering classes, and cotilting modules.Comment: 54 pages, 10 figures. The statement and proof of 2.6.21 was

Simulation of Rapidly-Exploring Random Trees in Membrane Computing with P-Lingua and Automatic Programming
Methods based on Rapidly-exploring Random Trees (RRTs) have been
widely used in robotics to solve motion planning problems. On the other hand, in the
membrane computing framework, models based on Enzymatic Numerical P systems
(ENPS) have been applied to robot controllers, but today there is a lack of planning
algorithms based on membrane computing for robotics. With this motivation, we
provide a variant of ENPS called Random Enzymatic Numerical P systems with
Proteins and Shared Memory (RENPSM) addressed to implement RRT algorithms
and we illustrate it by simulating the bidirectional RRT algorithm. This paper is an
extension of [21]a. The software presented in [21] was an ad-hoc simulator, i.e, a tool
for simulating computations of one and only one model that has been hard-coded.
The main contribution of this paper with respect to [21] is the introduction of a novel
solution for membrane computing simulators based on automatic programming. First,
we have extended the P-Lingua syntax –a language to define membrane computing
models– to write RENPSM models. Second, we have implemented a new parser based
on Flex and Bison to read RENPSM models and produce source code in C language
for multicore processors with OpenMP. Finally, additional experiments are presented.Ministerio de Economía, Industria y Competitividad TIN2017-89842-
Decision-Theoretic Planning with Person Trajectory Prediction for Social Navigation
Robots navigating in a social way should reason about people intentions
when acting. For instance, in applications like robot guidance or meeting with a
person, the robot has to consider the goals of the people. Intentions are inherently nonobservable,
and thus we propose Partially Observable Markov Decision Processes
(POMDPs) as a decision-making tool for these applications. One of the issues with
POMDPs is that the prediction models are usually handcrafted. In this paper, we use
machine learning techniques to build prediction models from observations. A novel
technique is employed to discover points of interest (goals) in the environment, and a
variant of Growing Hidden Markov Models (GHMMs) is used to learn the transition
probabilities of the POMDP. The approach is applied to an autonomous telepresence

This paper shows a search model to analyze the possible impact of a trade liberalization on job creation and job destruction. The model is calibrated to calculate the possible impact of the North American Free Trade Agreement on the Mexican economy. The results shows that the effects of NAFTA take place in the first two years. The production and the employment have a reduction of 0.14 and 0.16 percent, respectively, while the welfare level increases in 1.07%. The job creation and job destruction increases, and therefore there exist a higher job reallocation between sectors.
This paper uses an applied general equilibrium model to analyze the eventual effect of the application of a safeguard measure to the imports of plywood panels (three-ply). Basic results suggest the following. In first place, a safeguard measure of 35% applied to the imports of plywood panels increases the domestic production of this good, but it reduces the aggregate production of the Mexican economy. In second place, the effect on the consumer welfare is negative too. As a consequence, the safeguard should be eliminated.plywood panels, safeguard, applied general equilibrium models
