Competitive behavior and specialization of the Andalusian trade in the period 1999-2009
We have tried to verify, not only the general changes and trends that have
taken place in the Andalusian exports from 1999 to 2009, but also, those that they
have to see with the relation between sectors that increase his royal penetration the
markets and that they have endured of competitive form, and his relation with the
changes in the exporting specialization, to relate the above mentioned changes with
which they can be happening in the productive structure, verifying the paper(role)
that the provinces have recovered(played)
The export competitiveness of social enterprises as compared to with export SMEs
Purpose – This study aims to determine the export competitiveness of the Social Economy
in Andalusia, this is carried out by quantifying the export competitiveness of the
internationalized enterprises of the Social Economy in the export sector of the region.
Design/methodology/approach – The strengths and weaknesses of this business sector are
quantified and the Rasch´s Probability. It is a model used to measure the latent variable
called export competitiveness, which is defined by items (factors): size, cooperation,
number of target markets, competitive advantages, years abroad and percentage of sales
abroad. The article provides empirical evidence of 362 Andalusian export enterprises.
Findings – The results show that the export competitiveness of social enterprises reflected
their strengths as compared with other SMEs.
Originality/value – This concept paper empirically combines two different fields of
knowledge (design and behavior of companies) in the construction of the foreign trade.
This work standardizes the treatment of two descriptors scarcely discussed in the
literature: Social Enterprises and Export
Structural modelling of medieval walls
International Seminar on Structural Analysis of Historical Constructions (3º 2001 Guimaraens)Sistemas constructivos medievales a menudo involucrados la construcción de múltiples capas
walls formed by two faces of ashlar work or masonry with a central infilling consisting of
rubble bound with mortar, generally lime-based. It is a simple and efficient construction
system which continued to be used in subsequent centuries.
Nevertheless, structural modelling of this type of wall is not easy to achieve. The two wall
faces are not rigidly bound and on the other hand, vaults are normally supported only on the
intemal face, resulting in reduced efficiency of the wall unit. Common models of finite elements
are unable to solve many of the problems that arise when they are applied to a monumental
construction.
This paper tackles the problem and puts forward various possibilities of solution with different
element types.. It also provides two examples of Gothic monuments in Galicia (Spain) in which
structural behaviour was studied using some of these calculation models: the churches of

Limits on the Electromagnetic and Weak Dipole Moments of the Tau-Lepton in E_6 Superstring Models
We obtain limits on the electromagnetic and weak dipole moments of the
tau-lepton in the framework of a Left-Right symmetric model (LRSM) and a class
of inspired models with an additional neutral vector boson .
Using as an input the data obtained by the L3 and OPAL Collaborations for the
reaction , we get a stringent limit on the LRSM
mixing angle , , which in
turn induces bounds on the tau weak dipole moments which are consistent with
the bounds obtained recently by the DELPHI and ALEPH Collaborations from the
reaction . We also get similar bounds for the weak
dipole moments of the tau lepton in the framework of superstring models.Comment: 18 pages, 5 figure

Electronic structure of crystalline binary and ternary Cd-Te-O compounds
The electronic structure of crystalline CdTe, CdO, -TeO,
CdTeO and CdTeO is studied by means of first principles
calculations. The band structure, total and partial density of states, and
charge densities are presented. For -TeO and CdTeO, Density
Functional Theory within the Local Density Approximation (LDA) correctly
describes the insulating character of these compounds. In the first four
compounds, LDA underestimates the optical bandgap by roughly 1 eV. Based on
this trend, we predict an optical bandgap of 1.7 eV for CdTeO. This
material shows an isolated conduction band with a low effective mass, thus
explaining its semiconducting character observed recently. In all these oxides,
the top valence bands are formed mainly from the O 2p electrons. On the other
hand, the binding energy of the Cd 4d band, relative to the valence band
maximum, in the ternary compounds is smaller than in CdTe and CdO.Comment: 13 pages, 15 figures, 2 tables. Accepted in Phys Rev
Flavor-changing top quark rare decays in the Bestest Little Higgs Model
This paper investigates the effects of parameters in the Bestest Little Higgs
Model (BLHM) on rare flavor-changing decays of the top quark. As a result,
flavor-changing phenomena are introduced in the BLHM for the first time. In
this study, we incorporate new flavor mixing terms between the light quarks of
the Standard Model (SM) and the fermions and bosons of the BLHM. We compute the
one-loop contributions from the heavy quark and the heavy bosons
. Our findings demonstrate
that the branching ratios of decays and , where
and , exhibit improvements compared to their counterparts in
the SM, except for the gluon case. Moreover, we observe that the processes with
higher sensitivity are , and within the appropriate parameter
space.Comment: 13 pages and 10 figure
In the Canary Islands, there is a wide spectrum of volcanic rocks with different properties to be used in public works. The aim of this study is to analyse the physical-mechanical properties of all the volcanic rocks present in the Canary Island archipelago in order to determine their suitability for use in maritime construction works. The great variety of volcanic rocks present on the islands have been grouped into lithotypes based on similar geo-mechanical behaviour. The laboratory test results obtained for these lithotypes establish their suitability or not to be used as breakwater material in accordance with Spanish regulations.
Lignocellulose Nanofibre Obtained from Agricultural Wastes of Tomato, Pepper and Eggplants Improves the Performance of Films of Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVA) for Food Packaging
Films formulated with polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) (synthetic biopolymer) were reinforced with lignocellulose nanofibres (LCNF) from residues of vegetable production (natural biopolymer). The LCNF were obtained by mechanical and chemical pre-treatment by 2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine-1-oxyl radical (TEMPO) and added to the polyvinyl alcohol (polymer matrix) with the aim of improving the properties of the film for use in food packaging. The mechanical properties, crystallinity, thermal resistance, chemical structure, antioxidant activity, water barrier properties and optical properties (transparency and UV barrier), were evaluated. In general, with the addition of LCNF, an improvement in the studied properties of the films was observed. In terms of mechanical properties, the films reinforced with 7% LCNF TEMPO showed the best results for tensile strength, Young’s modulus and elongation at break. At the same LCNF proportion, the thermal stability (Tmax) increased between 5.5% and 10.8%, and the antioxidant activity increased between 90.9% and 191.8%, depending on the raw material and the pre-treatment used to obtain the different LCNF. Finally, a large increase in UV blocking was also observed with the addition of 7% LCNF. In particular, the films with 7% of eggplant LCNF showed higher performance for Young’s modulus, elongation at break, thermal stability and UV barrier. Overall, results demonstrated that the use of LCNF generated from agricultural residues represents a suitable bioeconomy approach able to enhance film properties for its application in the development of more sustainable and eco-friendly food packaging systems
